| Well Subaru is definitely pretty, and I respect that she is willing to protect Kaoruko, but this was a rough introduction for her imo, she came off very hostile right off the bat, I honestly wish they let Saku cook her more lol. But it’s clear Subaru’s got her reasons for being the way she is with men, so I won’t grill her too much on her very first episode, I’m sure she’s gonna be one of those characters that has a bumpy start but turns out to be one of the bests, at least I hope that’s the case here. I also really like the phone call bit between Rintaro and Kaoruko, it was incredibly sweet on both ends, Kaoruko nearly brought Rintaro’s mood down when she downplayed their relationship but thankfully our boy pulled through and managed to request that they drop the formalities around others, some nice development there for sure, hopefully their study date turns out well. |

| Manga Subaru looks better than anime Subaru(a given), but they got her indignation and fury down perfectly. I see concerns over pacing, but the overall flow looks good to me. |

| Subaru has a great character design, also she gets better from the beginning to the end, I already like her. Blushing faces at the phone. Great animation, this episode is impressive, my favorite so far. It's also nice to see some school life drama. |

| I feel like this episode at last made me understand what is wrong with this show. None of the characters just act casually, they are constantly being overtly performative, dramatic, outwardly emotional and all. Btw, before some tells me that the leads are meant to act that way because they are awkward with one another, I don't buy that at all, because that happens in Kaguya-Sama like every episode, and there you can clearly see the moment the characters lose their cool and slip out of the casual act they put on. In this show, nobody ever just talks casual, it's mindboggling once you notice. |

| Subaru is a mean bitch. The whole "don't talk to those savages, don't approach them, etc." line was absurd. The characters here behave so dramatically. She acted as if these boys were some kind of criminals threatening society, not ordinary students. Classicism at its finest. No one here talks like normal teenagers, everything is overdramatized, predictable and artificial.The three-episode rule seems to have helped. It's time to say goodbye to this series. |
| This forced animosity between schools is killing me, man. Couldn't help but cringe throughout the whole confrontation between Rintarou's friends and that white-haired misandrist bitch. 2/5 episode. Not impressed in the slightest by this show so far. |

Subaru is a mean bitch. The whole "don't talk to those savages, don't approach them, etc." line was absurd. The characters here behave so dramatically. | Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku watchedOn: 2025-07-23 episode: 3 Another solid episode. I already knew what will happen because I already read the manga a long time ago, but I still enjoyed it. I love their little interactions, and how they get embarrassed with it. We found out that Waguri-san is not just cute and smart, but she is also hardworking and goal-driven. The two groups finally started to have some conversation on how they feel sorry for their actions toward each other. I am looking forward for the rest of the series. |
| This show is gonna get me diabetes. I cant handle how they're all so ADORABLE!! I'm not in high school anymore. But thinking back on how cringe I used to be, it kind of sends a wave of negative nostalgia. But these kids don't seem to be experiencing the same kind of life but the portrayal seems very adorable. It makes me glad to have lived a sort of goofy life style when I was younger. Regardless. This episode is cute. nothing less. Rating the episode based on these 4 topics (plot, soundtrack, characters, and cuteness scale) Plot: 6/10 It was extremely generic. But I am a sucker for slice-of-life so personally (10/10) but i believe when an average anime joe watches this they might go to sleep. soundtrack: 9/10 beep boop. IDK. It was good? I was to busy being overwelmed by the cuteness characters: 10/10 adorable. delightful. simply and utterly cute Cute: 1000/10 I am foaming at the mouth. |

| I'm addicted to this show. We're introduced to Subaru, a friend of Kaoruko's who seems to really hate boys. Kaoruko and Rintaro were caught talking to each other, but it ended with apologies. At the end, Rintaro and Kaoruko agreed to meet next Saturday and study. Rintaro asked about how she speaks with him (keigo), as she's formal with him. It's because she's a customer at his family's cake shop. He asked her to talk to him like she does with her friends. All of this was over a phone call, and Kaoruko was so nervous to talk to him that way. It's so obvious that they're both falling for each other, and they know it. Subaru looks to be an interesting character. It also looks like we may finally have some cooling of heads between Chidori and Kikyo. Can't wait to see more! I'm loving this so much. |

| Great episode, probably the best yet. What an introduction for Subaru! She knows she was wrong in her approach and is kicking herself for it. She's going to be a very interesting character to watch! |

| Rintarou and Kaoruko's relationship is growing and Kaoruko is actually studying hard because she's not wealthy and not in this school because of money. Her friend is overprotective and seems jealous though, could it be that she's actually secretly in love with her? The phone call scene was cute |

| Talk about a bad first impression regarding Subaru. At first I figured she was an overprotective friend of Kaoruko but the last scene implied that she may see her as more than just a friend and didn't like how happy Kaoruko appeared talking to Rintaro. Beyond that this was a decent episode and I'm looking forward to Kaoruko's and Rintaro's date study session. |

| Kinda funny that was almost a 10 minute call Silver haired girl most likely has a crush on Kaoruko... Kaoruko is such a sweet girl, I really love this anime. Romance anime with an actual plot are usually through the FL's perspective so this one being through Rintaro's perspective is a nice change <3 |

| We found out that Waguri seems to be one of the smartest students at Kikyo, although Kikyo is an elite school, you know. One of the feats of this is the fact that she's able to enter Kikyo because of a scholarship, not because her family is wealthy. As for both Rintarou and Shouhei, it seems that they're total failures in academics, even in a relatively low-quality school, I may say. |

| So many things I like from this episode. Saku putting Subaru in her place, Rintaro and Kaoruko blushing at the end of episode. I have high hopes for this Anime. |
