i pray this show doesn't forget it's female characters like most shounen it's rare seeing them get some proper love ,animation once again was top notch some parts looked a bit off though enjoyed all the fights even if we really haven't been around these characters like outside of a episode or 2 it still managed to form some kind of weight to their story (this arc really seems like lets give everyone their backstory lol) catching the bullet gets a bit of eyebrow raised from me but again can't really talk about realism in a shounen about fighting cursed demons |

So lets check some of most poular shounens. It's very refreshing seeing how this series portrays its female characters. Most Shounen battle anime use their female characters just to look cute and for fanservice like My Hero Academia, Fairy Tail, and Seven Deadly Sins, but here in JJK they're actually interesting, well-written, badass, and not overly sexualized. I especially loved Nobara's rant towards Momo saying that she doesn't give a shit about gender roles which is definitely something that I can get behind. The only downside to this is that a lot of chuds will probably get triggered and call this "SJW propaganda" like they always do. Not only that, but good god the animation was absolutely stunning! Probably the best animation that MAPPA has made so far Naruto:ppl dont like sakura but what about tsunade, konan and most Powerful charter n series kaguya? Blackclover:most Powerful captain is female mereleona plus good cast of very strong females like witch queen, Dorothy... Bleach:many Powerful female characters like the strongest captain was that female healer lady i forgot her name. Attack on titans:mikasa, ymir, historia etc.. very strong and well written characters. Onepiece:bigmom? Boa?... Want me to continue? I think most shounen portay women very good!. Do those shows you mentioned have female fanservice and useless and weak female characters? Yes, and yes. Does JJK have female fanservice or ANY fanservice? No. Does JJK have useless and weak female characters? No. My point is even if they sexualise women they sexualise men too and if they have usless women they have usless men too. So they are not portraying just a specific gender bad.at very least it is equality!but ppl always trying to imply its a women-only problem. |

Alpha_Druid said: This episodes had the same problems like the previous episodes. The dialogue was shit once again. Why do almost every girl has to have a potty mouth? Yikes. Exposition for stupid stuff like the range of Miwa's slash or the amount of cursed energy required to form a bullet for example. Show, dont tell. That flying girl and Nobara's fight didn't have. That flying girl seems like she was fighting on behalf of Mai and not for herself. Immediately lost interest. She also spouted some bs dialogue and Nobara reciprocated in the same bs way. Their characters aren't strong/developed enough to carry the weight of their words. The shoving of Maki and Mai backstory really felt out of place. It wasn't built up at all. It should've gotten a separate arc or something. The animation unlike previous episode was very good. The actions had impact on the opponent and the surrounding environments. The animation was fluid and consistent. Moreover, the quality was maintained throughout all the fights. 3/5 "show don't tell" Then you should stay far away from shows like HxH. JJK's explanation doesn't even take 1/3 of it. Also this show is a battle shounen which sets a huge emphasis on its power system and after watching 17 episodes you should already realize it,but i guess you don't. "Exposition for stupid stuff like the amount of cursed energy required to form a bullet for examp" Yea explaining characters main abilities who also have appearances later in the show is totally stupid. Not to mention it gives us a deeper insight in its power system to which JJK builds on upon literally every episode. All told, it's on you and not JJK's fault for being a true battle shounen. Also I highly disagree regarding the dialogue being shit but this is a very subjective matter so i won't dive into that. |

How can a bullet look so damn breathtakingly awesome. The fight be miwa and maki and when miwa uses her IAI sword to counter the half maki threw at her like they did really well job by showing lighting effect around her when she draws the sword and very fluid moments and damn nothing but respect for Yoshihara from BC to WEP and now JJK they way he animated the Nobara scene looks so realistic and really portrays her personality and character Them we have the mai and maki scene like really hit in the feels the bond be them contrasting bw the fights was beautiful Loved this episode Nobara and Maki best girl |

It's literally included in her backstory. Her entire character is about "staying true to herself." She literally says that when she's introduced. Also is sexism bullshit or too complicated for the characters? It can't be both lol. Heck, Nobara's the only girl(out of over 7) who swears a lot. No idea where you got "almost all" of them have "potty mouths". Plus you want Maki and Mai family drama to happen on a later arc when they're fighting for their lives against monsters? Not during the non-lethal tournament arc between 2 schools every year?(remember they go to different schools so they're usually seperated) |

was definitely one of the best episodes so far. honestly didn't know what to expect before watching, as i had steered away from the spoilers for ep. 17. but after watching ep. 17 all i have to say is jjk women supremacy. all the girls were so badass and gained so much more respect for them, esp maki. and the animation was terrific as usual, but something about this episode was awesome. i love the way it was directed and the fight scenes were so exhilarating to watch, it really had me on my toes. excited for the next episode!!!!! |

The art and animation is some of the best I've seen in anime in general. Hats off to the people that worked on this. As far as characterizing goes, other than the main crew of Itadori, Fushigirou (idk if that's the proper spelling), Nobara, and sometimes Gojou, it almost always is average which makes dialogues between some of the poorly developed (so far) characters boring and thus super unengaging. This animation of this episode could have been complimented much better if the characters involved were fleshed out a little more. ...and yes these past 17 episodes have provided more than enough time to do so. Anyway, the art/animation carried the episode, 9/10 at best, 6/10 at the worst moments. |

Maki probably the strongest person among the fourth-grade sorcerer. She defeated Mai so easily because of her quick thinking and reflect. I wonder what happens to Miwa. Did she retire or not because, at the end of the episode, only Mai and Nobohara retired. |

What you said is like saying just because that book has both female and male rapists that's equality and therefore makes it okay and shouldn't be criticized since there are many other male and female characters who are not rapists (aka useless). See how wrong this sounds? And I'm pretty sure the only men with abs in JJK is Toudou and Sukuna, and trust me a half naked Toudou is not fanservice to the girls. Sukuna ripping off his shirt may be, but most of male fanservice from JJK comes from Gojo's eyes. Whats wrong with normal fanservice? Go look at the score and reviews for Fire Force and come ask me that again. See what poorly done fanservice does to good shows? See why it's so important for a show to be able to stand on its feet without half naked men and women flaunting their bodies on screen simply because teenage boys like hot women? If you think adding tons of fanservice in a show would immediately grab the teenage boys' attention and increase sales as if they're horny dogs who would eye-rape any sexy woman on screen then boy oh boy you need to grow up a little. So they are not portraying just a specific gender bad.at very least it is equality!but ppl always trying to imply its a women-only problem. |

Zettaheisinium said: Oh Hahahaha. Yeah so true. Nobara has her own way of doing things XD. This is a very under talked scene haha. The fight scenes and backstory and Maki's brilliance overshowed this! Idk how anyone could not be talking about that scene, it was pure joy xD Nobara indeed has her own style ahaha Jujutsu is killing it with such amazing characters! |

All people see is shine...Animation was good but the episode was plain booring...Characters talking inside their head for such a long time between fights and their backstory was bulls*it..nothing new...overused troupe...most booring episode till now....They made it too slow motion...No comedy either |

Hands down the BEST episode of Jujutsu Kaisen's second half so far. When you think that the Panda Vs Mechamaru's fight was good enough, this episode pretty much drowned that and showcased not one but THREE brilliant fight scenes. But if you ask me Mai Zenin has to be (fuxk you I'm fighting for her) BEST GIRL of the show, because once again not only did we see her cool side but her lonely side as well. The reason why she hate Maki is because she forced herself to do what Maki is doing, she just doesn't want to be alone. And even though she lost the battle, the payoff was rather satisfying for these sisters. MAI ZENIN IS MAI BEST GIRL! Next week, we shift ourself.from the GIRLS to the BOIS. Also I can't help but notice that most of the scenes from the 2nd half's PV came from this episode, moments that I've been waiting for! |

12:48 NOBARA : What do you think of Maki-san? YUUJI : A tall woman with a big ass. Hahah! It would be hilarious if he'd said that. Overall, great episode! Awesome work in Animation! |
