| Giving his mages the ball really came in handy. Once that ice shield protection was down the boss was no much threat and got asswhopped handed quite easily. But damn animation was absolutely insane in some shots. They are sparing no punches here. Again this party really was nicest and even guild master isn't that arrogant. Dk what Chin-Woo will do but he should really joined them. Even got his waifu here. |

Last week, a bunch of the manhwa readers were eagerly anticipating "the pickaxe scene." As a result, I was also looking forward to it, hoping to finally see the fan darling in action, splitting some orc heads. We get there and Cha Hae-In picks up a pickaxe and... feels embarrassed about it? That's it? She then proceeds to watch Jinwoo do his thing like the rest of the NPCs.

| @Ego_Altar well huge part of his appeal is calm and collected reasoning without overreactions. To me this is such a huge thing. Good 80% of shows out there will have main character scream like vixen in heat (seriously google it) and pretend that's what humor is like. If for nothing else, this show is worth watching just because of this thing. Sure, he's OP, like pretty much every other MC in anime with notable exceptions. Good animation and sound design are another great reason to watch. So that leaves character and story development, which is good enough but no high art and to be honest, I don't care. I've had it with good ideas ruined by whiny harem or screaming tsundere lolis. Not to mention lack of going to school and competitions. What a breath of fresh air that is. |

Not a bad episode with strong production value as is tradition, but as always SL feels lacking in the characters department.
The season's rating is now over 8.8/10, which is a feat of its own. Yet, it feels like there's exactly two ways to make it this high up on MAL:
1. A series niche enough that only its fans watch it.
2. A series that is approachable with good production value and which does nothing to bring hate from the larger anime community, even if it does nothing great plot-wise.
SL seems to be a textbook example of case #2.

| @QcDiablo I gave it a 9, which it doesn't deserve but also at the time it was closer to 8 than 9, so I boosted it a bit. It's solid 8.5 in my opinion. And you are completely right, it's approachable and entertaining but it's not deep or thought-provoking. And am okay with that. So many shows try to do both and then mess up everything. A1 knows where their strengths lie and they focus on producing entertaining and good looking action. I have no complaints with that. |

Why isn't Cha-Hae just carrying a weapon in case anything happens, knowing how unpredictable the portals are? Should be common safety. A sequel will almost always have a higher rating than its predecessor (assuming the quality is not noticeably worse). Because most of the people who disliked the show would have already dropped it by the first season, thus each subsequent season will have a higher and higher density of people who like it relative to those who don't. You can see this in effect with essentially most shows that has multiple seasons. The season's rating is now over 8.8/10, which is a feat of its own. This season so far only has 64 000 people who voted and it's at 8.84. And of course since it's still airing, most of the people who watch it are the ones who are those who really enjoy it (or masochists like me). So couple that with sequel inflation and the high rating starts to make a lot of sense. |
