Everyone on this show is so goddamn wholesome.

Hyodo pointing out Taiki's weakness in his smashes and Hina telling off Taiko to ask out Chinatsu? Fuzzy feelings all around

Thought that was Chinatsu on the phone.
Hina wanted it to just be the two of them but Taiki is dense. Looks like he won't be meeting Chinatsu there. Hina projects her own insecurities onto Taiki. Seeing his active avoidance of Chinatsu
Taiki gets tips and encouragement at a college level practice session.
Kyo played sick for their sake. No compliment for her Yukata?

Hyoudou clearly thrives on dramatic moments at sporting events, where the underdog comes out on top. Honestly, I feel the same way! I misjudged him at first, but Hyoudou isn't arrogant for no reason - he's just confident in his ability and willing to back it up. Seeing talent in Taiki and deciding to help him says a lot about his character.

I'm a firm supporter of Team Chinatsu and will continue to be for personal reasons, but I can't deny that Hina steals my heart. Taiki, on the other hand, is still a clueless fool. Poor Hina tried so hard to invite him to the festival so they could spend time alone, and she almost ruined it! Thankfully, Kyou came to the rescue once again. Seriously, Kyou, we don't deserve you.

Hina looked spectacular in her yukata, and I have to admit, I'd love for Chinatsu to stop by the festival, see Taiki and Hina together, and feel a pang of jealousy. And this is coming from someone who is looking forward to Chinatsu and Taiki getting together! The drama would be too good to pass up.

I love Hina but if she ever done that knee thing to me that she done to Taiki in the mirror I would give her the most diabolical right hook known to man.

Putting that aside this was a great episode. Im honestly still way more invested in the sports side of the show then the romance. But im enjoying seeing Hina's perspective on everything

Had to wait 2 weeks to watch this episode, which was totally uncool, but anyways.

Another great episode, but I don't have much to say about this, other than I'm happy to see Hina trying to convey her feelings to Taiki and planing dates. Also, Kyo is the best, he completely understood the assignment! He really deserves more screentime, good to know at least that he has 3 younger siblings.
I was also surprised by the lack of Chinatsu in this episode, I wonder if they are going to develop the Hina and Taiki agenda much more than what I was anticipating!

At least the new episode is already out, so I'm going to watch it soon!

Big Hina episode this time, I mean Chinatsu putting up a barrier kinda indirectly caused this lol, but I don’t mind it one bit, I feel Hina has been a bit neglected as of late so I’m very happy to get more of her, and she is making it really hard to say I’m Team Chinatsu because boy was she driving a hard bargain this episode with her moments with Taiki, and then how she appeared at the Summer Festival… boy if you don’t put a ring on that by the end of this festival lol. I’d absolutely say that but then you also have Chinatsu, I’m sure there will be plenty of Hina goodness in the next one but I’m willing to bet this will cause Chinatsu to act or at least reconsider her previous statement, either way I’m really looking forward to the next one, and seeing that it’s already out today is making it very tempting to go ahead and watch it, I’m just nervous it won’t drop at the same time next week, but fuck it YOLO as the kids used to say lol.

Oh and also Hyodo had a great bit this episode, he turned out to be pretty cool and already helped Taiki improve his game, and his underdog comment kinda mirrors what’s going on with Hina in the romance game, hope we see more of him.

Chi chan being an owl in the morning lol. Study groups though was a nice idea. So the candy apple was the catalyst that started their bond huh cute. It was cute seeing Hina getting embarrassed. Still Hina being able to cheer on Taiki despite suffering the same doubts herself was impressive. Aiming high despite the high odds may seem difficult but i really admire Taiki's determination here. Wow Hina looked gorgeous in Yukata. Curious whether Hina would make a move here.

you know, I was on the Chinatsu train solidly until now, but with that extra backstory and Hina stepping up like this, I am no longer so sure in my stance there... hopefully she does at least get her fair shot in the story, she deserves it

Very nice detail when Taiki got the candy apple for Hina back in middle school. I asked myself why she wasn't wearing a yukata, but she did at the end of the episode and she was gorgeous. Best girl.

Haha, I felt the same way, like c'mon man why don't you enjoy a fireworks show with a cute girl that has a crush on you /sigh Speaking of cringe, when Taiki asked for the 300 yen at the end too but I'd like to think it was because he wasn't thinking straight due to how shocked he was seeing Hina in a yukata (in a good way). Maybe this "date" will let him forget about Chinatsu, at least for a bit.

Hina is the cutest. I love her so much. My girl. AHHHH. She's so adorable and awesome. She also looks absolutely beautiful in her Yukata. And, Kyou is the greatest friend and the wingman.

HINA. I love you. Best Girl.

Haryu's an absolute bro, Taiki's "I AM CALM" was actually funny, and idc and idk how but if Taiki said "no" in any way shape or form to going with Hina to see the fireworks, I would've transcend reality itself to enter the anime dimension just to, pardon my french, slap his b*tch ass to the f*cking moon.

Sure he's being a dense mfker but he still deserves at least a little slap for the "so who else is coming to the fireworks?" I was praying to the anime gods that Kyo would once again flex his ultimate wingman (or in this case yet again, wing-woman) powers to the world.... and he does. Man is goated. It's just a joy to watch every character in this show (especially those 3 faceless guys in the background during Chinatsu's conversation with her basketball friend, Nagisa..?) .... who is not Taiki or Chinatsu, who are both our main characters.

Hina's love is one-sided and yet her relationship with Taiki is just so full of life and so dynamic. Yes she was too afraid to ask to go alone with Taiki, but she didn't want to risk not going with him even it meant going with other friends. Plus, idk how much effort this must've taken, but it was actually a shock to see her ask Taiki if he'd rather go with Chinatsu. An out-of-place question? Maybe, but it's one that would take balls, and respect must be paid. She follows it up by knocking some sense into the kid and straight up calls him "uncool" (roll credits) for his actions- or rather, lack of actions. Holy crap every episode that goes by that has Hina in it just makes me like her more and more. Taiki is hunting for gold and is missing out on diamonds. Heck he's not even hunting for the gold, he's legit avoiding it. But it's ok, I get it. We need SOME drama, right? Gotta check off the damn boxes.

Oh yeah and Hyodo is a bro as well. Everything badminton-related in this show gives off the feel-good vibes of good sports anime like haikyuu. Even Taiki who imho isn't the most likable MC in the world, becomes so fun to watch when he's playing badminton. Yes the sports aspect does take a step back from the stage (like they literally showed us nothing from his match against Yusa, maybe it's just sparing us from feeling more of the pain that Taiki felt?) for the main attraction which is the romance, but still I'm glad they are giving good attention to said sports aspect and making every scene involving it very enjoyable. Maybe this all would've work better with sports as the main focus with a romance subplot instead? Idk!

Ah the end of this episode soothes the soul. Kyo does go full wingman and pulls the sick card, Taiki doesn't chicken out but still faithfully goes through with the plans to meet up with Hina, who shows up in a beautiful yakuta and a "nani" as Taiki is taken aback for brief fleeting moment as he maybe he realizes what has right in front of him all this time.

Yes, the inevitable is going to happen, that's just fate of all characters like Hina. But please, writers of Blue Box, give her at least this one night. Please don't let Chinatsu and others show up and ruin everything and make Kyo's sacrifice be in vain.

Love Hina! <3 It took so much courage for her to ask Taiki out and then she realized he thought she meant in a group. T__T Thank god for Kyo!

Also, I really liked Shota. The guy was pretty cool.

One random thing I do like about the series is the supporting characters are pretty damn supportive to say the least, especially with Hyodo in this episode. Reminds me of Baby Steps where the opponents from different academies that Maruo faces off with might feel a bit spoiled or antagonistic in first impressions but are genuinely nice people or just competitive (for the most part at least). Hyodo in this instance being helpful and supportive was cool in that college training session there to help Taiki's smash game out and help the underdog grow. The rest of the episode was kind of there, more Hina-focused again this time around and with the festival looming in the cliffhanger, she does don a nice looking yukata and gets to go with Taiki (with the assistance of Kyo, the ultimate wingman), shame that it is so obvious how dense Taiki is around Hina and her developing feelings to the point of inviting others initially after her request, but I can see myself making a mistake like that in his shoes so won't go too hard on that.

stuff like this kinda sucks since I truly don’t see Hina winning over Chinatsu in the end (if any girl even ends up with Taiki in the end), so it’s just going to be sad when she gets rejected or something along those lines later on

No way he asked her to repay his 300 yen -.-'

Taiki's denseness was over 9000 this episode. Thank god Kyou was there to, once again, become the best wingman one could ask for.

Scene with Hyoudou saying he's an underdog appreciator was great, btw.
