ahhh maaaan thats how this ends? I wanted this anime to go on forever or atkleats 3 straight seasons of just battles, no plot or reasons for shokogekis just action shots of them cooking and detailing their processes. since thsi show is basically Iron Chef to me ^^
10/10 overall

Is no one going to talk about that almost incest marriage of half siblings lol? Or the fact there was for a time sexual attraction between the two siblings (at least in the manga) he wooed her for a time and it affected her, she blushed and such.

Liiiike how is that not awkward for them? Also are we just going to accept there was no backlash from the wife or erina for him cheating??

A dish a world has never seen, well that quite literally description for Erina's dish, while we get to see Souma's improved dish that took inspiration from Erina's previous dishes, we never get to see Erina's own dish. The dish that actually won BLUE number 1 spot. Souma might be quite pissed at not getting the first spot but looking at the bright side, he straight up criticized Erina's stock as pretty boring straight to her face. That was priceless!

I assume Erina's dish only came out on top by an inch since Souma's own already ultimate dish brought about a new form of shifting from Mana and Erina, surpassing the already divine gifting, the whole castle literally and magically shredded its own walls for fuck sake, if that isn't the ultimate foodgasm, then I don't know what is.

Classic Souma move to ditch the party before everyone else, he took a 6 months tour around the world to then come home back to his Diner where we get to see many of the characters he's met in his diner, finally, they get to taste the Yukihira diner's dishes. And the last scene showing them all at the diner is enough to put a smile on my face.

It's funny how Asahi first tried to marry Erina but now he's adopted to be Erina; older brother B R U H Well, at least the Nakiri family had their long-due family bonding moments. The simple act of eating together as a family!
Speaking of Erina, sure, with Souma having no romantic interest to anybody in the show, a romantic relationship may not be established, but here we see Erina herself confessing how her heart longed for Souma and his dish. Aight Souma x Erina is canon Unless Souma is a potato, as a human, this is bound to get somewhere more intimate. Well, anyways that's the end of the series!

I never really expect this series finale to come out on top of many of the previous seasons, especially the powerhouse that is the first 3 seasons which are the best and most well-adapted one IMO. Still, it's a fairly decent ending to the series although, while I was disappointed that we don't get to see Souma being shown to be famous outside Totsuki as the first seat of the Elite 10 and the one who got 2nd pace at BLUE, we do see him finally taking the rein as the new owner of Tukihira diner. After all he beat the chef that beat his father, he's on a league of his own now with a dream to make Erina say that his dish is delicious. (which should be when they go out on a date fingers crossed)

This is the worst ending i could ever imagine, the story lost it main purpose which was to make Yukihara the number 1 chef and instead making him lost to Erina once again in the end. I know it's a good thing because it'll prevent Yukihara's growth from getting stagnant, but even so i still couldn't accept this kind of ending, they even skipped the scene where Yukihara and Erina got married.

Then that explanation about Noir got disbanded came out from nowhere, they rushed the anime that they forgot to explain the details of it. i got a bit flustered for a while there, not flustered because it was hard to process but because of how small the details they're putting in to. Let alone the basic points, even anime only should understand it without difficulty.

And tbf this is the first eps of the fifth season where the jokes are actually FUNNY. Before that it was completely cringe I couldn't even look at it lol. I do aware there's no comedy genre included in it but man seriously? At this point I'm certain that the studio didn't do their best.

But in all honesty some part of me thinks that the ending was quite satisfying, everyone gets a happy ending, Noir got disbanded and the last scene where everyone gathers at Yukihara's cafe was pretty wholesome.

Overral i would rate this ending 3/5, i don't hate a wholesome ending like this anyway

I don't know why most seem to dislike this last season. Sure it was rushed but overall it's still the same enjoyable Food Wars we all came to love. It's been a long journey and I waited and waited up to this day when decided to finish Food Wars.
Hearing the first opening again really hit hard tbh when Souma returned after his training.
I'm also glad they all visited Souma's diner, that appetizer was a hilarious dish to end on though.
But tbh this has to go down as one of my all time favorites. All that's missing now is an OVA showing how everyone's doing in the future.

The series was fun to watch. I do have to say I am very disappointed with the ending. I was expected her to say delicious or a timeskip where they are married. I saw the ending of the manga too and it is worse. I don't know why a lot of anime have disappointing endings.

For this season, 7/10. It felt rushed and the ending was not satisfying.

It felt bittersweet seeing the show be done and have everyone meet at Yukihira Diner after Soma was gone for 6 months to train across the world after his loss to Erina in BLUE, even after the dramatic drop in quality from great to horrendous. Sadly even this episode was not that good despite the okay conclusion due to the Noir subplot being an absolute mess.

This season overall was the worst season and despite a couple of good moments, was even more of a travesty than the previous one due to the Noir subplot, Asahi's character being abysmal and the matches at times being way too ridiculous and rushed that it felt difficult to comprehend what kind of show this really was. What a shame. 1.3/10 for this final season.

Utter rubbish and disappointment. Because the previous seasons were really good and soo enjoyable, the disappointment of this season was exacerbated ten folds. The only saving grace this season had was the closing of loose plot ends and a conclusion epilogue.

People seem to think that the either this is still good or this season is drastically worse than some of the previous ones. Reality is Shokugeki no Souma has been slipping slowly season after season.

A tasteful cooking and food porn show with comically orgasmic reactions to the food slowly tried to one-up itself over and over, till we ended up with a final season stripped bare of the charm and left with just the over-the-top spectacle of gimmicky cooking methods and orgasms. Even worse with a pacing of a machinegun that's spitting out competition results like a fast-food chain, rather than showing any care for any of the characters cooking anymore.

Soma and Erina is suppose to get married... but the anime left it sorta open-ended.

The manga had "Le Dessert" that wasn't animated where the author later commented he wanted Soma and Erina to get married, but didn't have enough pages, cause the series ended (more like cancelled, lol). So in the end they just do a "time skip" showing Soma and Erina as more adult with a better relationship, but still going through the day as chefs. (BTW, the "short hair Erina you saw at the end of episode 13 is Erina in "Le Dessert")

Kind of a weak ending with Soma actually losing against Erina... after making the most delicious meal of all times apparently. Not a fan of that conclusion. But I was not a fan of this season in general, unfortunately every new season got gradually worse. Kinda glad it ended now, 6/10.

Well, after 86 episodes, it finally comes to an end. Shokugeki no Souma actually managed to get a complete adaptation. I liked all of the other seasons, but this season was a shitshow.. But it's still cool that this anime adapted all 36 volumes of the manga from beginning to end. And I do enjoy gourmet anime in general. So Souma (the protagonist) lost to Erina in the end, huh? And apparently they get married in the manga, but the anime didn't show that, which I'm glad it didn't because it's not a romance anime and I don't want to see that shit.

The actual perfect ending would've been Soma and Erina married, travelling together, and cooking together at Yukihira, as ED1 (Spice by Tokyo Karan Koron) plays. I like the anime ending slightly more cos their realisations that they like each other comes at age 18 instead of 25, cos fuck me, they should definitely have been together by then.

Was it as good as the previous seasons? Fuck no. A big reason the cooking seems especially shit this season is because after the Elite 10 were defeated in the manga, that was supposed to be the end of SnS (and tbh, that was a perfectly fine end), and the food consultant went on maternity leave. But the publishers demanded more from the author and the BLUE arc was born.

To the people who don't like the Soma/Erina pairing, the fuck? That was kinda insinuated since season 1. Erina is a massive tsundere and an elitist, and Soma is the only one who could give her God Tongue fresh experiences all the time. Soma has been saying since season 1 that he's one day gonna make her say his food is delicious. Erina sees many of Joichiro's (the person she arguably respects the most in the culinary world) traits, plus she gets Joichiro as a father-in-law. Soma is willing to dedicate the rest of his life to cook for her. How is that not a perfect match? I'm even surprised more obvious couples weren't confirmed, like Rindo and Tsukasa, and Isshiki and Kinokuni. Hell, there was even a time I thought Takumi and Nikumi would be a thing, cos they're basically just gender-swapped versions of each other.

It should've been title Shokuegeki no Erina LMAO

Was hoping to see Souma and Erina weddings or the author should've just given us the "It's Delicious" comment from Erina moment with Souma. Feels bad seeing your ship sunked after waiting all those years. AHHRRGGG

Maybe they want to milk the story further? The ending makes me think like there's still an untold story arc. All that buildup with all the characters, only to have everyone part ways in the end. Of course not every story has to have the perfect ending, but this just feels incomplete to me.

The storytelling in this series was absolute garbage.  They failed to set up the twists correctly (i.e. foreshadowing = 0), they skipped out on Erina's final dish, didn't focus on the food as nearly as much as the previous seasons (which screwed up any possibility of fully understanding the judges' reactions) and the pacing was a hot mess.  I get that adaptations can be an absolute nightmare, but they really should've cut out more aspects from the manga and focused more on the setting up the character development properly.

That all being said, the mid-credit Erina slap was the most-satisfying thing I didn't know I needed.

Not sure I’d call a variation of eggs benedict a “dish the world has never seen” XD

Definitely surprised Erina won lol. She would have 100% lost to Saiba in the finals

Cool twist about Saiba and Izami

This ending is bittersweet for me. I truly enjoyed the journey up to this point. However, I must say, the way they rushed this season was surprising. The pacing has been steadily increasing each season, but this one felt particularly rushed.

We never got to hear Erina say his dish was delicious, but at least we saw her admit to herself that she loves him, which was great. Still, I feel like they didn't wrap up each individual storyline well enough. Why did Souma mimic his dad by disappearing without telling anyone? The abruptness of it all was frustrating. Instead of seeing Erina win, we got a flashback. We never saw the ultimate dish she created to beat Souma's tempura bowl. And where did the twist about Azami being her half-brother come from? That felt random, though it would explain his superpowers, since only the Nakiri bloodline has them.

Erina did get her wish of hearing her mom say she looked forward to her cooking, but now we'll never know who Souma ends up with—Megumi, Nikumi, or Erina. Do Alice and Ryou end up together? So much is left unanswered. I wanted to see Souma take over the diner, but we won't get to see that.

I wish they could redo the last season and make it 36 episodes long to take their time with the storytelling. I wanted to savour this show that I loved so much, but now it’s just gone. To misquote Erina, "It feels like I was at the beach and then suddenly there was a stampede of pigs." 😂

Despite my disappointment with the ending and how it was handled, I’m still glad I watched this anime. It inspired me to cook, and it remains a 10/10 anime in my heart.

great series.

Finally approved SomaxErina though too bad Soma didnt win the Blue arc. Nakiri's family problem really made the biggest plot for this serious though.

After years, i came here after rewatching the whole series of the show, im not fan of gourmet but the whole series is masterpiece to me, i cried sometimes including the ending and exited in most of the show, ppl say ending is rushed or anything but intentional or not, it can't be more perfect, at least for me, it's only give us brief but solid pictures of the end of story and things, thus watcher can have room for their own imagination of future but still able know the real final destination, last but not the least, the ending also perfectly concludes the wonderful journey from the time Erina and Souma first meet till now, it was so emotional, especially with that music choice, and i can feel the melancholy, you know how it's feel in your heart when some fun emotional journey came to an end, thats it, the ending is really cheff kiss... Also, OP, ED, and insert songs are so good, especially in S5, they are so perfect as ost of the last season.
For me, this is 10/10 anime
