@dragynfaerie I don't know if this would be your thing but My Happy Marriage comes to mind. It has a supernatural topic which "arrives" later in the season (it's a short season)

@dragynfaerie already watch it Koukyuu no Karasu..recommended๐๐ป love the opening song by Queen Bee..have you watch Heike Monogatari, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi? All have historical settings & interesting plot
| @bbkikie Yes, I adored the theme! Big Queen Bee (& Avu-chan) fan. Elusive Samurai was one of the season's titles I was looking forward to. I liked it. I recommended Apothecary to anyone who would listen. I honestly watched it twice (subs & dubs). I remember purposefully ignoring Heike. I didn't like the artwork and the story didn't seem interesting. BUT I think I trust your taste so I'll check it out. :D |
| What an amazing ride this was. Absolute Masterpiece, Peak Cinema ๐ ๏ปฟ Man, more people should watch this hidden gem of a masterpiece. ๏ปฟI really enjoyed it so much. From the very beginning, I shipped Wakamiya x Hamayuu, and seeing them get together and watching all the other scenes made me so happy. I also shipped Yukia x Koume, and I hope they get together in the end. Hamayuu and Koume are two of my most favorite girls in this series, and I love them so much ๐ ๏ปฟ I didn't want this to end because I wanted to watch more. All the plot twists and suspense had me craving for more and more, but now it's all ended. I pray and hope that they will make a second season in the future because it's so good and definitely deserves it. |
| I liked that the relationship that Nazukihiko and Yukiya hadn't been bound by the master/servant relationship up until this point because it was a relationship built entirely on trust. Unlike Natsuka who constantly mentioned Yukiya's lineage, Nazukihiko often gave Yukiya a lot of agency. At times this meant letting him leave in an outburst like in ep19, but the faith in Yukiya to figure things out on his own in critical moments gave him the confidence to be decisive. Which is why it was so important that Yukiya choose to become a servant himself (although the Prince forced his hand quite a bit to lead to this moment). I could've sworn that the Prince had slashed Yatagarasu before, but I looked back at the 2 assassination attempts and that was never the case. The first time he gave Sumio his sword, and the second time he used the hilt, or his limbs to attack. It makes a lot of sense looking back. The mysteries have been great in this anime, but I can't help thinking there was a lack of punch at the end of both arcs. Like what finally came of Asebi and the Prince's mother? Did they fully resolve the drama between the 4 houses, especially in relation to the backstory of the previous generation of princesses at the Cherry Blossom Palace? In this arc, did they seal off other easily accessible underground pathways like the other wells to prevent the ape from selling again? The mysteries often get solved really well, but the clean-up afterwards is lacking. Considering that the story doesn't seem close to its end, the author might be saving these for later. Koume at the end looked hella sus tho. |
| It was good, I liked but... I couldn't help notice that this season, again, followed the milenar chinese tradition of revealing that everything was the fault of an evil woman. Still, 10/10. |

| Won't there be a season two of this? I mean, this world is quite fascinating and I believe there are still so many answers not yet answered. Hope I see Nazukihiko and Yukiya again soon... |

| Pretty good anime. Worth a single watch. I probably won't rewatch it cuz the show loses it's charm once you know the answer to all the mysteries. For best experience, just go in blind and binge the entire show without looking up any spoilers. Also, I'm not really interested in knowing what happens after the ending but will probably watch if it ever gets a season 2 which is quite unlikely to happen. Overall, it was nice mythology/folklore anime about the Yatagarasu, 8/10. |

Crazy how it went under everyones radar and that it came from studio Pierrot, I don't know who was cooking there but please more Despite a similar-ish seeming setting on the surface (historical Chinese and Japanese-inspired East Asian kingdom/empire), they are pretty different shows at heart, even just tonally, which probably appeal to very different audiences even if there is some overlap. The people who want a series like The Apothecary Diaries aren't going to get it out of this and vice versa. If they were recommended alongside each other it probably ended up frustrating and disappointing a lot of people if they tried the other expecting a very similar series. |

| This last episode felt very rushed. They managed to add another twist and change the story again but adding another loose end with the humans revelation. Felt a bit inconclusive with how the girl was just dropped and left on her own too. Enjoyed the first half quite a bit, but there were so many twists and plot additions starting half way through the series that it felt like random things were just happening. |
