So, should this be treated directly as a tragedy with no way to roll back?

Best episode in JJK yet. I really am surprised how well MAPPA is handling this. Animation was done so well. The story is phenomenal but that’s a mangaka compliment.

The arc is about to end next week. However I am actually very hyped to see how they will treat the next arc.

Pure action and pure hype all the way through. What an incredible episode.

Geto snapped at Toji but Toji had an answer to almost all of Geto's questions. And, then the main course of the episode with round 2 between Gojo and Geto. The first glimpse of why Satoru is considered the 'Strongest'. Felt extremely sad for Toji on his last legs remembering Mamaguro and Megumi. It was a wholesome moment for him. But, I won't forgive him for what he did to Riko. RIP Riko. But, what a badass character he was. RIP Toji.

And, the aftermath of this fight was just pure chaos. Some might recover from this while for others, this incident will change the course of their thinking about the Jujutsu Sorcery completely.

A beautifully crafted episode.

For me, something really off with the "throughout heaven" scene doesn't have the same feeling as in "you're weak" the cockiness aren't enough for it.

I think the problem with it is the still frames and how it is animated but the voice acting was great to me so it elevated it even if it had problems.

What the hell was that episode????? Just pure hands the entire time. I still can't believe Riko is dead dead. You know Megumi's dad was strong since he died standing. Whenever a character dies standing it is anime 101 that they are extremely strong. Gojo when he died must have gone to Vinland Saga bro was talking like he had no enemies then reality hit him and he became OG Frieza😂😂. Essentially at the end, he was ready to do a massacre. I thought they would manage to heal her or something but naa she truly died. So I guess people do die in Jujutsu Kaisen. Toji was built different though the fact he managed to push Gojo that far was crazy. I would definitely classify Toji as a special grade.

Imagine being this dismissive of how great MAPPA is adapting Gege’s work (he himself love what MAPPA is doing). Drop the anime and stick to the manga, no one is holding you back.
I was frank and I only said the truth IT'S OK IF YOU CAN'T ACCEPT IT.

Imagine thinking your opinion is "truth," while all others are wrong.

Superiority complex much? We get it, you're so special & have the best opinions! Oh wait, I'm sure you're one of those guys who calls clearly subjective takes "objective facts."

But no, it's OTHER people who "can't accept it," not YOU who can't accept that other people think your take is dumb. It must be everyone else, certainly not you!

"bUt tHe MaNgA!" - Cool. It still exists. In the meantime, learn some humility & accept that you're very much in the minority. Most people loved this episode, think it was an excellent adaptation, and enjoy the work Mappa is doing. Who are you to tell them they're "wrong" and YOU have the true answer?

Nobody. Same as me, same as the next guy. Moving on...

This episode was incredible!!! (every episode so far is incredible) Whoever the director on this season is needs to be paid double their salary right now!! Every scene, the BG music, the animation, etc, fits together perfectly and has truly created a unique feeling for this season!!!!! (Genuinely this is some of the best direction ever, up there with Bungou Stray Dogs and EP 1015 of OP)

As for the actual content, we get to see Suguru's character progressing immensely and the buildup to his new mentality. Everything about how it happened is so logical and realistic that it felt like I was watching a real human being!!

We also get to see Gojo doing some more development of his abilities, and that's part of why I love JJK's power system; it feels like a craft/hobby/passion that you develop over time. For example, I am an artist myself and the journey I am currently going through that includes putting time and effort into my art is reflected so well by Gojo in this EP! You can see him problem solving to get the best results and even using just plain trial and error. I think that the main reason that Gojo is so OP is that he has access to all the tools and passionately spends so much time and effort improving his cursed abilities.

Strong action boards from Imai, but I wish the fight was a bit longer, I know that it is already extended from the manga but still. Geto and Gojo's ideologies are finally coming through. Nice choice of ost when the red and blue energies were mixing.

Gojo was finally able to use the Reverse Cursed technique on the verge of death and used it to heal himself. But ultimately killing Fushiguro serves no real purpose since he has already killed Riko and that means their mission has failed.

This was also the first time Gojo used hollow purple. Toji would have been able to defeat awakened Gojo if he had let go of his pride and done preparation before going up against him once again.

Well, now we know why Megumi was adopted by Gojo.

I guess this is the end of this arc. It did feel a bit rushed and Gojo's reverse cursed technique application felt like plot armour to some extent but it was one hell of an arc. Toji was a beast.

How much more badass can you get than dying while standing upright with the right side of your torso basically non-existent. And at the beginning while he's getting pummelled by a dragon, he still fires shots at Geto from AFAR which would've hit Geto if he didn't think fast. Reading the manga a few months ago, I thought I and everyone else would be just down in the dumps after Riko would be killed. It's still sad, but honestly it's kind of whatever compared to Toji's death. I am actually bummed out that arguably the coolest character of JJK was around for only 3 episodes. Ik ik it's about Gojo and Geto... but with the way Toji stole the show, is it really??

Ofc I'm still sad about Riko though. Geto and Gojo basically set her free from having to assimilate with Tengen-sama, she was crying tears of joy as she realized she would no longer have to be the vessel, and could go on and live her life. At least she served her purpose in probably being what is the catalyst of Geto's current present day character. What does he want to do again, kill all non-sorcerers, right? Yeah it's probably Toji that sparked that since he has no curse energy. The whole thing definitely affected Geto more than Gojo since Geto was there seeing Riko get shot right in front of him, starting his downward spiralling descent into madness and EVIL!!! Although...

As for the elephant in the room, how did Gojo come back from the DEAD? Or was he not actually dead, and was instead just taking a really good nap? I didn't understand in the manga, and it still went over my head here. Maybe it's more simple than it sounds but all the cursed energy mumbo jumbo does get me confuzzled sometimes. But it's okay, I got a plain and simple explanation for it myself. Dude just needed some sleep, and what better sleep than being freaking DEAD. Nap slapped so hard that it revived him and even brought him back at full fighting power, allowing him to finally beat Toji. Ez

Hidden Inventory arc was pretty good as expected. Although much shorter than it seemed like it would be compared to the manga. Thought this would at least last for 6 or so episodes. Maybe some stuff was skipped over, or maybe I'm getting arcs mixed up. No spoilers, but I thought there was supposed to be a giant robot somewhere here. Or maybe that comes later. Anyway, onto the 5th episode which, idk what happens in it, but right after that we get straight into the long-awaited Shibuya arc. Heck yeah baby.

edit: whoops forgot to watch the after-credits scene, which I just did. Make sure you don't miss that. Thought we'd get a Homelander-moment where they'd laser down the whole crowd. I thought it was a dream sequence for a second, but I guess it was real; they went to retrieve Riko's body. Gojo walks on with her body in his arms, while Geto looks back at the religious organization, probably in utter disgust.

wtf is even going on? this feels like an entirely different series than the first season

this season has been super technical compared to season 1. at least imo. (it's been a few year's since i watched it and re-watching it is NOT an option. i watched a recap video, but those lack all the nuance and "chracter" of a show)

It is extremely rare for me to rewatch shows, but I've replayed EP 3 and 4 multiple times over the past few weeks. Toji is such a badass character. The villain you can't help but root for. He is rivaled only by Gojo, who has godlike power and 3 digit fight IQ. If Toji was just a bit less cocky and a bit quicker to chop off his opponent's head(s), I think he would have won. But that's not the plot of course so he lost. Though Toji died, he still succeeded in killing the Star Plasma vessel. He could have killed Geto as well but chose not to because of the ramifications. So he can rest knowing that he will go down in history as the 'monkey' who absolutely bullied and exposed the most powerful, elite Jujutsu sorcerers of their generation. As an anime-only fan I wonder does Megumi inherit some of his father's physical ability on top of his curse abilities? Or is that only possible through a heavenly pact?

He would have won if he had made sure the job was done in the first round, but in the second round there was nothing he could do anymore. Gojo was on a completely different level than him already. And that was still a MUCH weaker version of Gojo than present time Gojo. Current time Gojo isn't rivaled by anyone (at this moment in the anime)

And no, Megumi doesn't inherit anything. Toji's physical buff isn't something granted by bloodline, it's a Heavenly Restriction.

The amount of action in this one episode is insane, and it's all due to Daddy Toji, the badass...

Geto cannot even slow Toji, much less stop and kill him, the man is just unbearably powerful, and his combat prowess, physical abilities, and tactical intelligence is on another level, it took an awakened Gojo that could use the reversal curse technique to finally end Toji's life for good. Rest in pieces Toji, you were awesome, on another note, it's somewhat endearing that upon his dying breath, he remembers his son's face and circumstances.

The bigger point to discuss is the post-credit scene of Gojo handling Riko's corpse and what he said to Geto. The way he is now he no longer cares if Geto would have killed the cult members in cold blood. Geto's justification for not doing that is that there's no point to do so. And then comes the big question. "Does there need to be any point to it?" That challenges the fundamental action of doing something to expect a desired reaction. Eliminating the expectation to do something just for the sake of it. Is this perhaps the little seeds of catalyst that turned Geto away from Gojo?
