This episode went by so unbelievably fast! The tension throughout the episode was phenomenal. I thought for a second Eren might not do anything bad, but holy shit that transform (I can't remember what it's called when you go titan) at the end was crazy! I wonder how far it's going to go, or what the plan even is?
I don't really get this whole signature thing, but I feel like I need something down here to participate in the trends.

FUCK DEM KIDSโ—โ— Not saying what Eren is doing is right, but this is war. You heard it yourself. The man declared war on /all/ of Eren's people. He asked for smoke and he got it. If you bark you better bite.

Amazing episode the start with the children was heartbreaking. Falco's reaction as well. Eren and Reiner's talk was really sad due to Reiner's fractured soul. Eren showed his soulless side with killing a block of Edians Adults and Childs as well.

Ok, that was cool!!! I knew I'd love this new Eren. He's so composed and cool. Also it was so weird that Eren knew the full picture and sympathized with Reiner. But of course in the end he went through with the assault.

Can't wait to see Eren just become this OP god titan lol.

Eren confronting Reiner was just... my god... so good.

I really thought Eren would forgive Reiner, but I guess not.

I didn't get the significance of Eren holding Reiners hand, but it was pretty cool. I also liked how Reiner immediately used his body to shield Falco.

Hopefully we get to see Levi and Co. next episode.

The fact that Eldians have killed enough to wipe out the current population three times over is terrifying.

Willy wanted a war and now he has one. Eren will keep moving forward until he kills all of his enemies!

The dub is not that good. It’s very much inferior to the sub. Bryce Papenbrook’s tone did not fit Eren at all. He had this angry tone in scenes where he should sound tired/melancholic, which is not what he is suppose to sound like. Also, Reiner just sounds more regretful and sad in the sub.

keep moving forward eren and crush all your enemies who caused your mom's death, i hope you win this war. you are the MC after all.

but i wish they had played youseebiggirl instead of whatever they just played when eren transforms and kills willy. that ost is too epic to pass it out.

I don’t think you can even call this an opinion

Eren is not angry in the scene. He is completely tired/melancholic with his attitude and facial expression. Bryce Papenbrook uses an aggressive tone, that literally does not match the level-headed new Eren.

As for Reiner.... literally listen to the voices. The Japanese one puts more emotion into his voice.

It's not even an opinion it's a straight up fact Eren in that scene is not suppose to have an angry tone his entire character is cool-headed now and tired. You can even see it with how he looks.

"Reiner, sit down" is what he sounds like in Japanese in a raspy, softer voice

"Reiner. Sit." is what he sounds like in English. There is no reason for him to be so commanding and have an angry tone.

What are you not getting lol

Ok I got very confused.
So the Tybor family knew all along that the King of Paradise Island would not attack the world.

So why didnt they inform anyone ealier? Why did they allow Marley to attack the Island? They pretty much admitted that they controll the whole country, right?
Ultimatelly the attack , which destroyed Eren's city and the walls is what led to current events and the coup which detroned the king.

I really dont get it. Either I've completely missed the plot or Tybor family decided to risk war just for the lolz of it.

Its touched upon in the 4th ep right? The Tybur family has power over Marley but they gave Marley the freedom to do whatever they wanted. They didnt interfere with the wars Marley fought as an atonement of the oppression Eldians inflicted on Marley earlier. They could basically dictate the nation of Marley but they chose not to. Also, they might not have informed about the Kings intentions as a sign of respect, since the titan war wouldnt have ended without him and informing Marley would rob the king of the freedom he ended the war for.

• 0:42 Holy shit, so it is Eren. I knew it! I can already tell this episode is going to be BIG!
• 4:12 Eren had a wound on his hand, does that mean he tried to turn into a Titan earlier but couldn’t? His leg hasn’t regenerated either. Has he lost his ability to turn?
• 6:26 ”How did… Why are you here?” Exactly what I’m thinking. Please tell us lol.
• 10:28 I wonder if the tall guy is someone that came with Eren. It’s really weird how they’re obscuring his face. His voice didn’t sound like it, but I guess he could be Armin? If so, he got really tall…
• 10:32 Just as I say that we get a good look at his eyes. That’s definitely Armin. The beard looks fake though lol.
• 11:23 This has nothing to do with the episode, but is Willey’s Japanese VA the same one that voices Kakashi in Naruto? They sound very similar.
• 15:07 Oh yeah, she actually has seen Armin before. I almost forgot that the Cart Titan was there at the end of Season 3.
• 16:27 So now his leg decides to regenerate. Can Titans control the rate at which their limbs regenerate or what? Weird.
• 21:08 Are Eren and Reiner really going to join sides? And if so, against who? Who’s the real enemy here? Because to me it seems like both sides are in the wrong here and need to wake the fuck up and stop thinking everyone’s a demon. Jesus.
• 21:35 Okay, never mind. Looks like shit’s going down.

Well, that was fucking dumb. And here I thought Eren had finally matured enough to move past his childhood trauma, but nope. He’s still hell-bent on vengeance and ”destroying the enemy.”

I guess that whole speech about him and Reiner ”being the same” was bullshit too. Nice.

Absolutely incredible episode from beginning to end it had me on the edge of my seat!

Willy sure delivered a flawless speech of grasping the hearts and minds of everyone carefully calculating the choice words to utilize and what information to bring to light all while building to showcasing Eren as the new monstrous threat to the world's way of life. Too bad he didn't expect the final punch of his speech to happen so soon and to him no less!

Because despite him revealing information and bringing to light lies of Marley, his own family and the Eldians of the Isle he was able to unite everyone behind this new face of their enemy.

LOL Pieck likes sowing chaos doesn't she XD gotta go for that group hug or an individual hug for each otherwise war will surely break out! But, I suspect she had her reasons to do that since this episode drew attention to it.

But, the best scenes were between Eren and Reiner and I thought the OST was used pretty effectively just when I thought it was about to get overwhelming it cut perfectly to just their voices excellent choice. Eren certainly has changed and stayed the same in many ways how he spoke to Reiner building up that they are in fact the same was just so satisfying to see! The only awkward part had to be that brief shot of Eren in Titan form stiffly jerking around but hey easily forgiven as it serves as a fantastic hook for the next episode :D I am so excited! Bring on the War Hammer Titan \m/

This beat the first episode easily, which was my favorite of the season thus far, I really love how the writter setup the two sides up till now, surely up to the end of S3 you could blindly hate everything outside the sea, but really, the truth was always more complicated than that.

What a phenomenal main course the mangaka reserved to everyone so far into the series, I smell a masterpiece.

Dark Eren definitely gets me more interested now, than his boring previous counterpart.

Can you guys stop bitching about the OST already? It’s not that big of a deal, and you are taking away from this excellent episode with a ridiculous number of posts arguing about the music, which was fine and far from the most important part. There were many big revelations and significant dialogues which are more worth discussing.

Now, back to the episode, I, too, commend Reiner’s Seiyuu for a Fantastic performance as usual (Willy’s Seiyuu also stood out; a shame Willy quickly dies; he seemed like a decent, reasonable person-I could see him & eren having a calm discussion about peace; + he did reveal the truth of Paradis to everyone).

‘I convinced those 2 not to turn back…
And carry on with the operation.’

The way Reiner said that second line in a choking, semi-whisper voice is splendid. Definitely the line that stood out the most. (In Japanese)

Also, how the heck does Willy so easily gather his enemies, & moreso what looked like their leaders? Wasn’t his country fighting and conquering theirs, while killing their people? Why are they suddenly acting like friends? Usually, you get rid of enemy leaders when your goal is expansion. I found this plot point strange and just glossed over- or , more correctly, completely ignored.

Also, if the Tyber Household only rules from the Shadows, why does that family have so much respect and influence publicly, despite never revealing that they are the puppeteers to anyone except Captain Magato.

My God. This anime is 11/10. Never have I watched something with such emotional impact or storytelling abilities. I mean, even if an anime does have a good story, sometimes it might not have the budget or animation to rival the ambition. But this masterpiece executes and delivers with great expressions, design, and yes animation.

This whole episode was SO tense. I'm appalled that they turned the spazzy little crybaby Eren into something so absolutely terrifying. During Eren's talk with Reiner, though, it started to get somewhat wholesome. I was genuinely convinced that Eren had sympathy for Reiner. I guess that's just how good the delivery of this anime is -- Eren fooled both Reiner and the viewer.

I'm not just being a fanboy, and I have absolutely no bias. I objectively think this is a cinematic masterpiece, in presentation, plot/storytelling, characters, and even voice acting/sound. I almost can't believe I'm witnessing this cultural phenomenon. We've come quite far since NGE and such. Who knows where anime will be in the next decade.

This is a first for me seeing Reiner shake so much facing Eren I mean no wonder he's so nervous around him

This is one intense scene just with them, Looking at the people who live here it seems like they were the ones who are oppressed but seeing how they actually slaughtered a lot of people in Paradis not only there but in their homeland yet to say it's not the point

Oh damn things are stirring up here finally Eren's titan transformation is here and that cliffhanger was so good.

I kind of fall asleep in this episode help but anyways it was a nice one I guess. Ok I understand about the timeskip but damn 4 years Eren and Reiner hasn't talk to each other? That's some AOT not talking record wooh! The conversation feels like they're gradually building their alliance, also Willy wanker really puts up a great theatre about the history of Eldian and Ymir and how it has influence humanity, also learning about to how the King becomes the hero. Also that soldier who I don't even wanna spoil really makes a trap that was so predictable but it was too hilarious that Porco and Pieck notice it at the very last minute lolol.
