Tbh, it's smart to get more information on Tenjiku. After being told about a "traitor", I think Takemichi has to be even more careful.

This episode dropped in some info on lore related to their members and history. Definitely a solid way to get audience to understand them better. Plus, Takemichi needed to know what he's dealing with.

Kakucho's reveal to Takemichi of a traitor, all of Toman are gathered to assimilate what they know about Yokohama Tenjiku. And more than its Mochizuki unit led by former Jugem gang captain Kanji, the Haitani Brothers and the ghosts of Black Dragon's 9th Generation, there are the S-62 Generation of people formed together to create one insanely strong gang with their hatred directed to Toman. And while they can, Chifuyu reminds Takemichi to go back to the future to talk to Naoto, and he has no choice but to do so now to get the answers that he needs.

Going through with Naoto, other than Kisaki's probability of the possibility of travelling through time, there wasn't an ounce of evidence in those 12 years, and that Kisaki was dead by then. Then there's Izawa Kurokawa, formerly of the Black Dragons and converted to Tenjiku as its leader, and he's still an unknown so Naoto has time to investigate about him. Takemichi going to help Naoto by playing his part, he coincidentally goes back to the church that became the place of the Christmas Showdown between Toman and Black Dragon, 12 years have passed by without an incident, but he wasn't able to change the future, though he found Taiju Shiba by coincidence, and he's essentially the only person who knows about the past of Izana and the Black Dragons.

Takemichi bringing Taiju to meet Naoto, and just as he was in Season 2, he's a man of few words, though he has connections thanks to Hakkai. But to answer that question, they need to go way back to Black Dragon's 1st Generation: Shinichiro Sano, Mikey's older brother, and that honorable tradition led up to Izana, the 8th Generation. That's where the S-62 Generation came out from Izana, and how that turned out as some of the worst gangsters: Sano, Kisaki, Izana, leading to the Kanto Incident. The truth deepened further, and Izana has connections with the police, framed Kisaki's death, which he would become Toman's top guy that Mikey trusted more than Kraken. Even worse, the current Toman (including Inupi and Kokonoi) surrounding the trio, there indeed was a rat from within, and Izana was that rat to clear Hakkai's deathly debt as thanks from Taiju.

The sell out of Kisaki finding Takemichi, but that Naoto shielded him from his gunshot, with Kakucho then proceeded to lay waste to Takemichi by shooting at him point-blank, barring his loyalty to Izana. Both guys at the end of their lives, their "final" handshake back to the past is the only way to save them from their future death.

Now this is really a race against time. No more deaths for either one.

Kisaki’s always at the root of everything, that’s the common knowledge of this series. I mean for some reason, it’s been said he’s puppeteering Izana too right now. No, surprises there, but there’s a bigger picture too.

Tenjiku’s basically a gang formed by a bunch of kids who are in the same age group, and with ties to the past generation of black dragon too. Goes without saying the overwhelming information would’ve slipped past Takemitchi’s mind, and so in turn he decided to go back in the past once more, and let Naoto know about the happenings. Kind of a surprise to know Izana became the leader of NOW black dragon.

Adolescence may have hit Taiju a tad too much in his teens, that’s why there’s practically ZERO DIFFERENCE in his look back then and now lol. Though it was him, who revealed how Izana got black dragons under his command and led Mikey and Toman astray. He’s the top dog in Toman right now, to the point where people like Inupi and Coco are following him religiously.

Someone like Kisaki being already dead in this timeline was too good to be true. And that’s when he finally made his appearance out of absolutely nowhere… and fucking SHOT Naoto, which then proceeded with Kakucho shooting Takemitchi.

Stupidity aside, that was one brutal way to end this episode. Takemitchi might have made it into the past, but that's for the final time now.

Let it be known, Tenjiku does not fuck around. Past or Present.

Following the assault from Tenjiku, Takemichi and the rest of the gang find salvation in the form of Captain Nahoya and Vice-Captain Souya of the Fourth Division. Together, they infiltrate Tenjiku's secret lair. Inside, they reunite with Takemichi's long-time friend, Kakucho, who warns them of their newfound adversarial status while cautioning them to watch out for potential "traitors". The following day, the Tokyo Manji Gang convenes an urgent assembly to compile intelligence on Tenjiku. However, Takemichi remains apprehensive, mindful of Kakucho's counsel and wary of Kisaki's machinations. Despite Takemichi's staunch commitment to avoiding a return to the future, Chifuyu asserts that it's imperative to gather crucial information. So Takemichi returns to the present.

Kisaki's back in action, and now he's pulling the strings with the formidable Tenjiku gang, centered in Yokohama, boasting a roster of heavyweights. It's also a nice to have Taiju back in the mix. Whenever I see Taiju with Takemichi, I can't shake the feeling that he's living on borrowed time. Also, these future guys are persistent as shit holy. Honestly, Kisaki always manages to stay one step ahead, and it's both frustrating and awe-inspiring.

Another setup episode, I just hope Liden does justice to this arc unlike Black Dragons.

My husbando Taiju is back! Too bad I don't get to see him fighting shirtlessly. He was already so buff when he was just 16, now 28 he must become a beast!

This episode reminds me that the combination of yankee genre and time-traveling genre can be so much fun. Normally the weak has no place in yankee genre, let alone being a leading character. But with time-traveling power it allows the weak to not only has a place but also can become a hero of the story and gives a fresh vibe to the yankee genre.

Just like how JJK has Shibuya incident, Tokyo Revengers also has Kanto incident in this season as well.

Takemichi time leaped again despite saying he wouldn't do it again. Tbh I don't mind this cos one of the appeals of TR was the time travel for me tho I wouldn't say it's very good.

Taiju looked like he was gonna beat the shit out of Takemichi again but got distracted by his questions. Sad.

Damn. I hope it's not the final time leap. That ending with Naoto was quite intense. I just hate it's the same cliché of the villains leaving without confirming their kill. I thought at least Kisaki would know better.

Finally, real stakes, as both Takemichi and Naoto are dead in the present. No re-do's this time; Takemichi will have to fix everything once and for all on this final time leap. I was afraid that it would just keep going on and on... but it looks like it's going to end now- I think.

So after abusing his sister and brother for years all of a sudden Taiju sad to see Hakkai die lmao. Crazy way of showing love.

Lot of interesting worldbuilding and info dropped in this episode though. Mikey’s brother starting black dragon was wild, but the fact no one mentioned that last season makes no sense.. that definitely should have been a big plot point

This is the second time kisaki has pulled up on Takemichi with a gun lol. Based on how he looked back over his shoulder when Kaku shot, he definitely knows something about Takemichi time travelling, or at least knows something is going on.

Both of them getting killed in the present is a cool twist, now it’s do or die. No redos, until they change this part of the past at the least. Odds are definitely stacked against Takemichi. Let’s see how it all shakes out.

Even as a TR hater, this was a solid episode and the arc is definitely shaping up to be good

@BetaMaleUltra Not really, he only needs to fix the current incident and it will change the future into Takemichi and Naoto not being dead anymore, this episode finished vol 15, which means it has more 16 volumes to be adapted, we're only halfway through the manga.

That's the part I don't get. Yeah sure, they both died in the future. But when Takemichi goes back in time and changes things, everything in the future will change as well. So this would create another timeline. And in this timeline in the future they are both alive.
So I don't see why he shouldn't be able to travel to the future if Takemichi changes things.
Is that correct? Can someone explain?

Damn what an episode full of twists and turns. Takemichi goes back to the future to regroup and strategize with Naoto, and ran into Taiju of all people in the process. Taiju gave us a good lore dump that seemed to connect a lot of dots. Takemichi and Naoto's luck ran out when they got ambushed by Kisaki, Izana, and Kakucho, and now they're both dead in the present. No fuck ups allowed on this trip back to the past.

Also, part of me wondered why Kisaki and them didn't 100% ensure Takemichi and Naoto's deaths by popping them a couple times in the head. Plot purposes aside, I'm wondering if instead of being a time traveler like Takemichi, Kisaki possesses the ability to transmit information across time. So he doesn't time leap, but is able to send information from the future to himself in the past and that's how he always seems to be ahead of the curve. Which would explain why they didn't outright kill them, and Kisaki looked back at them, so he could see how Takemichi triggers his time leap and could then send that information to his past self. Idk, I could be completely wrong but that's something that came to mind πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

This arc actually has me decently invested in TR for once.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

damn the ending got me all teary-eyed.

another really good episode. did not expect naoto to be shot, i got really scared for a second thinking that takemitcy will be stuck in the future now. fortunately they weren't shot in the head which either is plot armour or intentionally done by kisaki is what i think.

after all this information all i can think is that takemitchy needs to become mikey's right hand. get the closest to him, earn his complete trust, more than anyone. this will enable him to not let kisaki or kurokawa get closer to mikey which saves not only the gang but mikey as well in the future. that or kill kurokawa and kisaki in the past to end it all.

with that this was the final coming back for him. he can't come back unless he is pretty sure he has made a significant change like killing kisaki and kurokawa.

also seems like kurokawa and mikey are gay as hell. takemitchy just needs to suck mikey's cock and then everything will be under control ez.

now this is the real tokyo revengers i wanted to watch. there was season 1 and then there's this season. previous one was basic at best.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.
Feeling half happy, half sad.
