I love how some people expected a different ending even though when the first season was released the author said that his idea for a perfect ending was everybody dying and humanity overall doomed lol. Really, ignoring the plot holes, what the hell did people expected? Literally from season 1 anyone could foresee what kind of ending it was going to have even if the author didn't talk about it at all.
Anyway, I liked this episode a friggin lot more than the first one. It was the ending that I was expecting all the time, and the message at the end is just perfect.

| @Wild_Rose Folks tend to have unrealistic expectations when it comes to subjects like war. AoT is far from a literary masterpiece (in my opinion) but it still gets its point across pretty concisely. One we've all heard before. War never changes. Also credit for having the most sensible post so far in the thread. I'm glad I kept lurking. |
| I cannot comprehend why people hate the ending. Everything came full circle and it gave a satisfying conclusion with amazing action and some gut wrenching moments. After all of their effort and sacrifice nothing is perfect but leaves the future to the choices of who is left. The world is finally equal and can choose peace or war. No matter what is chosen humanity will survive and persevere. Even after such losses we will rebuild and the cycle continues. |
| How do you solve the cycle of violence? Really, I think most of the negative opinions stems from this, thinking that Eren alone can make an impactful enough change to save humanity from itself. I'd like people to answer this, maybe try to write a better ending. |

| I can't believe AOT anime is over. It was such a wild ride from start to finish. I'm going to miss the plot twists, the action scenes, the music, and the characters so much, especially Eren, Mikasa, Levi, Armin, Erwin,,,,etc. They went through so much together and grew up in front of our eyes. I'm sad that it ended, but I'm also grateful that I got to experience this amazing story💕 Thank you, AOT, for making me laugh, cry, and feel all kinds of emotions. | The anime massively improved upon the manga despite the story being more or less same Loved the way they presented Eren as a normal average or below average human being with flaws who isn't perfect but still tried the best he could despite somewhat losing his mind due to the titan powers and his interactions with Armin and how in the end the narrator of ep1 being Armin came full circle by him going to tell their story to try to bring about peace That aside anime had one subtle but massive change that imo improves it by a long shot   In the manga the building look like they are from few decades after the events of the rumbling, but in the anime the buildings look much more advanced it seems like they did manage to get about 500 years of peace and then some jet guy did an oopsie and crashed into a building spiraled into war this kinda solves the problem people had with the manga since in the anime the cycle was temporarily stopped for a long time due to the protags and they had no involvement in it resuming again, it was just human nature Though the tree in the end turning into something similar to what Ymir encountered was unnecessary imo, the war all those years later was enough to get the point across |

| I’m an anime only, I don’t mind sad endings where it’s not a Disney happy conclusion, but this was too messy and many character’s motivations were left very unclear. I still don’t understand what exactly Eren was trying to accomplish in Season 4 and beyond, what Ymir wanted, and what was the point of it all if nothing changed at the end lol? |

@Yeji_Flying_Hair they didnt milk it, mappa is just horrendously run and drains the talent they have, these final 2 episodes are pretty much the only things they have done the last couple years that have had an actual solid production shcedule where the staff arent writing horrendously scathing critiques of the working conditions. meanwhile jujutsu season 2 is releasing episodes before they are done cause the crunch has gotten so bad and behind schedule that multiple animators are saying they are done with the studio after this project and the final stretch of episodes will probably start to show alot more flaws.
| @JizzyHitler Yeah Mappa is at their breaking point, Madhouse fell because of the same shit and now Mappa is also getting folded. I am saying they milked it in terms of how long they stretched the ending just to maintain hype but hype was actually killed for most of my fans. |

| that was pain. ngl i kinda speedwatched certain scenes because i couldn't even sit through this for 85mins knowing this was the end of the anime that really made me get into anime and probably molded my taste. but anyways, ending wasn't great, can't lie and won't defend it with my life. isayama could've done so much better with the ending but it's not as bad as i remember it. apart from eren's punched face, that looks so much worse than it did in the manga. eren's 180 makes sense considering armin was gaslighting him then and there, but it would've been much better if it was built up on more instead of eren just suddenly breaking down the floodgates. mappa could've saved it a bit more by expanding on that, i guess but mappa cooked nonetheless with that amazing animation and the osts were really hitting. glad to see levi alive and finally kill zeke, he's been dying for that. that's probably the thing i most have to be happy about, and also the rest of the gang also got to live out the rest of their lives. the cycle continues though, that's realistic. you don't solve shit by committing genocide is the simple lesson lol i have no reason to hate that. eren and mikasa deserved a better ending but ah it is what it is. welp, glad i finally got to witness this completely animated. not a great ending but i can still live with it, even though i don't think i'll ever wanna rewatch this depression-fest. big ups to isayama, mappa and also wit who made this entire journey possible, that was a heck of a ride, a depressing yet interesting ride. that final 'the end' pierced me. |

| After 10 years, what a journey. Can't believe I've been watching AoT since 2013. I love the new scenes added, they made the ending acceptable, cuz I remember in the manga, I'm don't like how it happen, though I understand it. (灬♥ω♥灬) In the anime, I'm glad they made it with new scene of Armin shouldering Eren sins, as he the one who fueled Eren to see the outside world. The credits added scene of futuristic buildings implying that a century or millennia past before the Paradis got attack. This justifies that Eren DID really succeeded for having a longer peace for the Paradis... SHINZOU WO SASAGEYO! (`Д´)ゞ I'm glad Attack on Titan, became part of my life. Thank you Isayama sensei, WIT and MAPPA staffs. Good Job everyone! (￣^￣)ゞ |

| Despite some clumsy/cringe scenes/moments in the Final Chapter.... This cant be treated less than a Masterpiece, clearly not Perfect, but still a Masterpiece as a whole. 9/10 Episode. 9/10 Season Finale. 10/10 as a Serie. Finding a series like this one, even with the mistakes... is almost impossible nowadays. PS: That Last Moment of Sasha appearing smiling again, was EVERYTHING to me. <3 |
| I never read the manga, so the entire series was fresh to me. After this final episode, I find myself inferring or assuming many things - I was left just generally feeling like I don't fully understand some important details that appear to lose relevance in the episode's final moments. The ending will definitely not work for everybody, and I understand why it's so divisive. Despite that, I enjoyed the episode and while I'm not sure it was the way to end, it was a way for sure. Overall, the series as a whole is excellent - with far more ups than downs. Easy recommendation to any anime fan. |

| oh my where can one even begin after watching this i've been watching aot since its first season, it was one of my very first animes and i think thats why it holds so much value to me in a way, it shaped my favorite genres of anime and anime for me as a whole. it was such a bittersweet moment watching it end, i'm genuinely so glad this anime was created and i'm glad i watched it all. honestly one of my top favorite animes and always will be, the animation and everything was done beautifully i can say this is literally peak fiction and will always be on top. eren finally declaring his love for mikasa was veryy unexpected, not like his usual character lol. i feel like the ending could've been made slightly different, there was many things that could've been changed and added but either way im not mad about it. seeing levi finally kill zeke was pretty satisfying, wasn't expecting it to go down that quickly LMFAO. im glad the end was realistic, genocide won't really solve anything in the long run, the cycle keeps happening. i never expected an anime to hold such sentimental value for me, but here we are the "the end" at the very end really got me and hurt my soul a little bit knowing it was actually over :,) |

| i'm sorry i didn't like the ending, too many questions unanswered, too many plot holes still lurking. and he did all that because he's and "idiot" and "slave to freedom" ??? it could have been great but they ending was fumbled and dropped. |
| The final episode was phenomenal, the production team outdid themselves, they elevated the manga to the new heights. The conversation between Eren and Armin was amazing, the ending is buttersweet. I will always remember this masterpiece and will be rewatching it many times in the coming years. |
