It worked better when there were links on the left-hand side. Now there's just an empty space and it takes longer to get where I want to go.

When there's been an annoying as fuck reverse review rating bug in existence ever since the MAL crash many, many months ago, one has to question the reasoning behind fixing what wasn't broken and ignoring bugs that do need fixing.

....*shrug*

How about making the navi bar follow the screen when you scroll down so if your not needing to scroll ALL the way to the top to go somewhere? Might make some people happier.

I don't want to screw up your hard work, but I don't like the wider version, 'cause now I need to remake all the club's layouts ;____;
I prefered the old, simple version, I didn't have nothing against it ;____;

The new logo gives a nice web 2.0 feeling, that's nice, the dropdownlists are good but kinda laggy.

Some space was freed with the new menu at the top, but this space doesn't feel used at all in most of the content. I think you also need to modify your content template to make the new "white space" useful, and give a more "spacy/cleany" feeling.

It's a step in the right direction, but I just don't think it's finished yet :)

Am I right in thinking that the vast majority would rather have the old layout back altogether? That's what I've gathered as of now. :/

............WTF!?........ why?

wasn't the old page good enough?

(please start a vote for returning to the old layout)

Edit: the reason MAL was good was the simple design, the almost non-existing logo(this page should be personal and not force people into liking a preset logo,design and layout)

and still you didn't add any useful functions... only made the design seem more like Facebook or some other bad page.

Next time ask the users before you start messing with us!!!

That seems like that could be a coding nightmare since other sites that have something similar always manage to glitch it up somehow, and it could also be very annoying when trying to simply read something and you have to worry about the nav bar getting in the way.

I appreciate that someone has worked hard to make a new skin but wouldn't it be better to enable switching between the new and the old one? Since you havent made it that way I suppose it is not possible ;s Seems I will just have to get used to the new one.

I also agree. In terms of priorities, I don't see how changing a site layout that wasn't bothersome for the most part ranks higher than documented bugs and other site issues.

The previous layout had more of a quick-access approach. The drop-down menu's are cumbersome and they don't look as snappy as they could be.

To those asking for an option to keep the old layout in addition to this new one: it would be kind of tricky in this case because some people will style their graphics (in, for example, Clubs or their About Me section) to fill this wider format, and those still using the narrow format will view it differently.

Personally I preferred more practical navigation of the older layout. I'm also against the idea of having different skins and themes, as they also impact the way graphics appear.

I'll get used to this one eventually but hopefully MAL will come up with a solution that everyone will be happy with.

So instead of forcing everyone to change, let's not change anything and go back to the old while other more important things can be updated.

Yeah, but what about the people who welcome a layout change?

Sucks ass for them then.

This is gonna take some getting used to, but honestly it's not as bad as everyone is making it out to be.

When I log in though, the menu overlaps the "log in" pop up thing. Least on mine.

Ehh, don't like top menus much. I loved the left side menus. ;(

my tiny laptop, which I am on, and that HUGE UGLY LOGO, and the stupid shit up top is not very user friendly at all.

Really, get rid of HUGE UGLY LOGO.

I was also curious and so I turned ads on. Wat. All you can see is ADS, MAL LOGO and the new panel thing.

So far I hate it, and may get used to it, but having about 3 years of a different MAL makes this irritating to swallow. Make MAL green again :>

The fact it's wider is nice imo, it feels.. awkward, overall, but that may be due to not being used to it yet.

I could adapt to this, it's a change for the better but needs some work.

It's cleaner, which is good, but I'm not one for huge headers. I usually kill them with Aardvark/RIP whenever I can. That part was great the way it was, even if it looked more like Facebook.
The drop-down menus are fine, but I think they should have a different color from the page header line, or just a 1px black border, to make them easier to see and navigate. And they're a bit laggy.
Overall, it looks pretty good, though. Will be checking it out before whining.

Things I don't like:
- Menu on the top - looks bad, and has the problems saka stated already. I would say a floating menu would be much better so we don't have to go back to the top again.

- The menu "categories". Though the (1) right next to the profile indicates that I have somethin new, but I dunno what it is until I click there, which is a bother.

- Club comments are not the width they should be.

Things I like:

-I like that the profile and the comments are wider... forum too.

-Bubbles - yeah, I like them :3

Question: Now that the forum has different width, the signature size will be different too?

I've never run into sites that have navi bars like that that are messed up, but I suppose your right with the reading problems ^^;
Hmm... I'm trying to be helpful here but I'm not really sure any of our ideas will be taken much into account.
People should really stop being rude (the ones complaining with nothing helpful to add) to him he worked really hard. That's why I was trying to offer advice.... My lay outs will all have to be changed now and I'm not sure I can resize them properly..... without pixilation.
That's really my only problem. I already knew about the home key. Was just trying to calm some people down >_>

my only real complaint is the drop down menu really since its very ineffective. instead of the quick and easy side bar where you could just click what you wanted you now need to memorize all the details for whats in each section,the drop down doesn't react fast enough so stuff can be on top of each other for a bit and it going right into the ad doesn't really accomplish anything since i can see people accidentally clicking the ad by accident. it now creates extra space not being used on both sides so it just looks centered instead of using that extra space for something more meaningful..even if it was to change how ad's go and put them on the side instead of the top. so would really like it if it could go back to the way it was or for the site to move faster and more clean in this fashion.(also the logo is way to large..shrinking it would let users have more height also.)..more detailed then my last post here

It looks ok, I like that there's more space and it looks cleaner. The only thing is that the menu's have some delay, if you hover thru them you can see them all at the same time.

This hierarchical view of the menu is more logical and looks better but it is far less usable than the menu on the right.
You simply have to move your mouse around more because of the drop down menus.
I really preferred the old spartan interface.And i think it loaded faster. Than again most people have high speed internet connections nowadays so if it is slower you can't really feel it.

I must test this on my phone.
Also the pop-up login might be a bad idea for mobile users.
