| This was far better than I remembered it from the manga. Though I image having a long break in between two seasons helped a lot. I generally dislike the great shift in tone for any story. It doesn't even matter if the two separate genre is something I enjoy. Back when I was reading the manga, I started Vinland Saga and just like the first season, I saw the viking manga, full of battles, intrigue and psychopathic protagonist. Still that genre pretty much ends when we get to where story starts in second season. I deep story like we seen in this one is something that I like as well... however the great shift put me off when I read it in one go. Here however, coming into this season I knew that I should look at it as completely new story and that allowed me to enjoy it in the fullest. Though it's little unfair to look at it as completely new. There are many stories in which we have a protagonist trying to change himself and atone for his past. However pretty much all of those stories just barely mention the said past and at best we get few flashbacks. With Thorfinn however, we seen it all from the very beginning. In any case I don't know how far the manga has gotten since I caught up to it. It was little bit further pass this last episode. But I think I will just wait for the next season (which will hopefully come). If I remember correctly, starting from this episode really, the story tone will change yet again. |
| The only thing I disliked about this season was the Gardar/Arnheid arc and how Ketil does a full 180 out simp rage. Otherwise, it was a great show. |
| Overall a great season! I look forward to watching Thorfinn and Einar's journey to Vinland - if a third season ever gets released! |

His character arc is so utterly profound. Hearing the narrator summarize his arc as Thorfinn talked to the villagers gave me goosebumps. This has been the best anime I've watched in 10 years. |

| That's Vinland Saga for you. It makes you feel an episode is way too short and you didn't realize you already finished one. I love it! The ending made me emotional as Thorfinn's mother recognized him. I thought Iceland would be a perfect place for them to finally settle actually. It's peaceful and no slavery in there. Well, Thorfinn is determined to build an ideal place with no slavery and war. I'm still not sure how he will accomplish that without fighting anyone. It's impossible! But we will see about that someday. It was a wonderful journey. I enjoyed it pretty much. S2 made me cry a lot of times but in a good way! It means it reached my heart. I can't wait for season 3! |

| I can't describe how much I liked this season, I don´t care if there wasn´t so much action, this season was absolutely brilliant and beautiful in every way, what a masterpiece!!!! One of the best seasons I have seen from an anime so far. I didn't like Thorfinn at all in the first season, but now he has become one of my favorite characters, that was an amazing character development!!! Absolutely love Vinland Saga ^^ |

| Ylva is hella cool. Hopefully we're getting a 3rd or even 4th season of this show. I am not fond of Thorfinn not raising his hands at all, even his dad Thors had to fight when he had to, he just had a no-kill policy. I am cool with a no-kill policy but to not even fight when your friends are threatened doesn't feel right to me. We'll see how Thorfinn handles future predicaments that may involve the safety of his people, maybe he could even surpass his dad in becoming a true warrior. |

| Thorfinn looks a lot like Canute now, guess a lot of people only look different because of beard and hair in this show. While this season had a different feeling than the first one, my enjoyment was similar. In the beginning was pretty boring, got a bit better until the end though. Still overrated in my view though. 5/10 |
