| Damn that was a good episode! What is going on with Genya?! An entire ep without revealing why he’s gone demon but still sane… that is a nice mystery right there I really love him already… Genya has a backstory and personality on par with Tanjirou, like he’s MC material. I felt my heart shattered when he’s whole family was just gone in seconds. That cliffhanger though… I don’t appreciate having to wait a week cause I’m gonna go insane π |

| It’s good. It’s admittedly one of those typical moments for Demon Slayer where a character, Genya in this, gets a overly long backstory moment to explain how he got t where he is. Though in saying that this episode leaves more questions than answers, which I’m really curious to see it answer. As usual, the upper moon demons prove quite troublesome. It certainly isn’t shy about hyping up how much a challenge Muzan is going to be. |

| Cool stuff. Genya's backstory is so sad, I still wonder what his deal is? He must be a demon lol?? And this tiny shrimp mf is so dead next episode hopefully. Then there's 5 eps to kill the bottle bro maybe. we'll see. good stuff |

As I was watching, I rolled my eyes when the flashback started, saying "Here we go again". Sad backstories are not good characterization, in fact, it's honestly quite a lazy way to build character, since if a character can only be defined by tragedy, it's just not that memorable of a character. Then again, with how Demon Slayer is, I couldn't imagine anywhere else they could fit this backstory in. if Genya somehow survives through all this though, I will really not know what to say.
