When Einar called thorfinn a baby since he's curious about new things is really heartwarming.
Also the last scene where he smiled that Einar called him his friend is really great direction.

It may be a bit different than the manga, but I love their dedication to it.

Okay, that sudden little timeskip at the end where Thorfinn and Einar had a beard caught me a little off guard but I am glad to see Thorfinn acknowledge their friendship.

beautiful episode, with some foreboding on the horizon. old man has it together, i really don't want to see what happens soon because i have a bad feeling. paying tribute is like extortion, just like the mafia did. it won't end well. glad to see the guys becoming friends, and thorfinn seems to slowly come out of his shell.

Thorfinn and Einar creates a mutually beneficial relationship with a gigi who turns out to be their master's father. The highlight of this episode is the clash of views between Ketil and Sverkil as well as Sverkil and Snake

4/5 episode overall pretty good

I really like Snake's banter with the old man. He's quickly become my favorite new character of season 2.

SO much farming anime between this and all the recent farming isekais. Vinland S2 for sure has done it the best so far tho.

Today's episode was an slow and easy time for our friends Einar and Thorfinn, good to see those too having decent times while the can.
No tomo malas decisiones, solo me gusta apoyar causas perdidas.
Disfruté Mayoiga, Ou-sama Game, Evil or Live, Mirai Nikki, Big Order, Arifureta, Ex-Arm, Tesla Note, Shuumatsu no Harem y Platinum End
nope les falle con esa, lo siento pero todos tenemos nuestros límites.
Así de jodido es mi gusto en anime, ¡Y estoy pinche orgulloso de ello!

The pacing of these episodes (and the previous season) really make me wonder how Vinland Saga will be viewed 5-10 years from now.  It really could go down as one of the greatest epics in anime of our era.

It's back to the slave life at Ketil's Farm, and to get all of the huge work done, Einar and Thorfinn desperately need a horse. But complaining about it will not get them both anywhere, and a conversation with the old Gramps Sverkel who is willing to borrow them one, in exchange for extracting rocks out of the wheat ridges, cutting firewood and all, it seems as if he's living on his own, and doing all of the work by himself. The typical daily life of a slave doing chores for their masters with no end, and while they earned their horse to pull tree stumps out from the ground, Einar gains satisfaction while Thorfinn is the same old. The slave retainers questioning both Einar and Thorfinn about the horse, and this horse belonged to Ketil's father, the head of the farm.

Plowing lands slowly but carefully because of tree stumps and roots, and being able to have a horse and plows says a lot about wealth and power. Surprisingly, both father and son couldn't get along, and even Snake sleeping throughout the argument, then waking up to eat his Gramps' fill, it's apparent that people like Snake are needed to keep thieves out, though their argument feels like close cousins/relatives. Thanks to Ketil buying peace with offerings to King Harald in exchange for defence, it's hard to take in when money is at the center of the issue. And when Fall comes, it's time to plant wheat.

Thorfinn learning the ways of farming with a friend, it's the closest he's ever been to someone.

A really solid episode despite having some very weird transitions and goofy frames. Thorfinn's showing more emotions, his chemistries with Einar is very heartwarming and I think that's the main focus of this season beside Thorfinn's development. Not much happened in this episode, just Sverkell's introduction and some sharp dialogues being used to add some depths to the themes.

Also, I found this one on youtube:

The episode isn't bad but I'm getting bored with the farm stuff already, I want this to move on. Slice of Life is one of my least favorite genres and this season so far is mostly Slice of Life.

And yeah, I know we are still in the buildup phase, I hope all this buildup is worth it.

The animators continue to do a wonderful job of adapting the manga. Even tho it's mostly a 1:1 adaptation, it's a testament to how thought out the manga already is.

another banger episode.

i still have no idea how they are so energetic and muscular even after getting so little food.

thorfinn's found a new thing now which he enjoys and it's great to see him taking interest in something and living normally (if we ignore the slave part).

i hope we get some action next week.

10/10.

It's easy to tell how much Einar and Thorfinn have gotten along with each other now, as their teamwork was very strong and admirable. While the other retainers still look down on the two when they wanted to get a horse to remove the tree trunks, we were introduced to the old master of the farm, Sverkel, who is Ketil's father.

He lent Einar and Thorfinn a horse after helping out with the chores around his house, which helped with the progression of getting the trunks removed and for that area to be ploughed for crops.

The other interesting part of the episode was how opinionated Sverkel was to Ketil, where their ideals are at odds with each other. It was pretty much the same with Snake, who sleeps at Sverkel's place a lot, with their chat about the size of the farm and how much work Snake and his men need to do in order to deter any potential thieves from taking anything valuable. Sverkel's words is something that I think Ketil should take heed to at some point. It's unwise to dismiss words of wisdom in times like this.

The last scene with Thorfinn and Einar planting the seeds into the soil was very wholesome. Time has passed, so both have grown nice beards, but their talk about now being properly friends did put a smile on my face. =)

I hope we'll get more wholesome moments like these in future episodes, too! ^^

Thorfinn being awestruck by farming is quite cute, he feels amazed while doing it maybe because he's creating something for the first time, rather than mindlessly killing & destroying.

The change of context and the reconstruction of Thorfinn's history after the death of the king may be part of the plot that leads to the meeting of Vinland, but so much action that we had in the first season and knowing that the war continues, but especially knowing that it is a story of Vikings, it leaves you expecting more dynamism and a little more misfortune and violence in the story instead of the tale of some farmers. I don't know where they are going to direct the whole plot, but this radical change is disappointing me a bit...

That scene of Thorfinn stopping to look out at the fields is one of my favorite moments visually from this arc when I was reading the manga, so I'm more than thrilled that the anime did that moment absolute justice. It was breathtaking.
