The plot is satisfactorily completed. The main character, bocchi, shows the development of the character. It's not a big change. But it's a small change. to be able to lead her to the next change.
Impressed until the end. Despite the sad parting, he did not forget to leave the audience with a unique laugh.
*Unfortunately hitoribocchi tokyo is not used in the story. It's a song that should be used as an op song or a performance.

It's cemented now. This anime is the Anime Of The Year for me. What an amazing end to an equally amazing anime. No other anime has made me laugh so hard and made me emotionally invested in the characters at the same time. The absolute animation in this episode, the slow development of Bocchi and Kita, the fantastic music, the cringe-inducing but still hilarious jokes...My GOD, I cannot stop with this show.

This is easily a 10/10 AOTS and AOTY for me and one of my favourite anime of all time.

Hope Cloverworks will do second (or even 3rd and 4th) season.

Finally it ends and to be honest a final episode doesnt necesarilly needs to go out with a hype and a bang i loved how it did, in a nice calm wholesome way like it should be imo.
The performance though not epic but was still great and enjoyable. The girls did a great job especially Kita and bocchi. I loved how kita sang with expressions and her body movement vibe was syncing well  with the music, especially this part

i replayed this many times, it was so good. Then even going further and doing a clutch support for bocchi with the improvisation. She
totally earned my respect. Then coming to bocchi, after seeing kita supporting her, doing her own improv and that too with kikuri's sake glass, like i have no exact knowledge how that works, but i guess that was just genius thinking on the spot. *applause*

Then from genius thinking she goes back to our regular social anxiety bocchi by just doing the unexpected jump off the stage and face plant into the ground, i just had the same reaction as ryou and kikuri laughin myself out. Pure gold
After bocchi wakes up from the stunt is probably one of my favorite moments, Kita and bocchi having a nice talk, complimenting and bonding with each other. I personally think kita has resepect and affection for bocchi in a different manner to how she has for ryou in a more endearing way. How the times have changed when she once just saw an unknown bocchi to being one of her close friend and someone she wants to be a pillar for. Best part was she called bocchi by her first name, that was a bliss moment <3

Then we have some family time. Let me say her dad is just so wholesome and amazing, so proud of her and didnt even care if bocchi broke a guitar instead encouraged her to break more xD . i loved the fact he  thought practically for his daughters future, made use of her talent in a positive to support her and even the mom (whose voice i can just keep listening to all day) just cheers her on. Ofcourse cant forget the adorables sister and pup just wanting to play. Bocchis family is just heartwarming and pleasant.

Finally bocchi buying her very first guitar with the money she got. Though her main excitement was to skip part time job with money just ascended her to super saiyan levels. Another top grade meme worthy material ofcourse and then she goes back in the garbage pin after getting shot down by the manager easily. Also can i say manager is absouloutely adorable blushing.
Bochis anxiety strikes again at the shop inducing the headbang simulator, Ryou humblebragging with the bass while nijika feeling left out as the drummer. I liked how they displayed different types and brands of guitar, where bochhi finally picks a yamaha, ofcourse cant converse with the store employee and kita being the mediator controlling bocchi like a doll to do the formalities. Atleast bocchi conveys her thanks to the employee for taking good care of the guitar and her kind words even though she ran out like the flash and left the guitar behind. I am glad ryou understood bocchis feelings as a fellow guitarist, that she wanted to get a feel for her guiar first.

In my perspective the new and old guitar is a nice symbolism of bocchi changing herself over the course of the series with her music, there is her new self but there will be the old bocchi too & she will embrace both sides as she moves on in life. Little by little shes reaching out and coming out of her shell. A nice touch to the end tbh.

Till the end i just loved every bit of this. Hillarious and delectable expressions & references, the amazing music, the girls bonding and creating music together, bochis social problem presented in both humorous and serious apspects and how she slowly comes over it with her passion of music and experiences she makes through it, the great side characters which contribute and make the series even better (kikuri my all time favorite, love that drunk goofer). All of this combining and making this series such a unique and precious experience to take in and enjoy. Thank you to cloverworks and the staff to make such an amazing piece of work including the beautiful visual art, animation and the ost's.
Also i knew the name of girls were in reference to one of my favorite bands asian kung fu generation, but to end the series on the cover of their songs was just chefs kiss.
Ty bocchi, will miss you  <3

Had a blast with this one. The music is good, much better than K-On in my honest opinion. The art style was more interesting and lively, and while it didn’t have as long of a run of the season as the aforementioned show of similar concept, what it managed to do in the 12 episode run it had was excellent. CGDCT genre is amazing and underappreciated. Hope this gets a second season very much.

I know I'm majorly in the minority for this, but God I straight up detest this show. The amount of people rating it so highly is insane to me. Bocchi is one of the most annoying characters I've ever had to watch, and the rest are just painfully boring. I only finished this show because I'm trying to reach a goal of 100 anime this year so I stuck with it, but I absolutely HATED it. This is going in my top ten worst anime I've ever seen list. I'm completely baffled why people like this show at all, but then I super hated K-On as well so clearly I just dont get the appeal of shows like this whatsoever. This has me sworn off the 'Cute Girls Doing Cute Things' genre for life, I never want to watch another show like this or K-On ever again. 1/10. A single point for the cool music and nothing else.

the concert was decent but bocchi managing with a broken guitar without panicking was great to see. her jump though lmao. i'm sure she's popular in her school now.

the head banging part got me good lmao.

great episode.

10/10 goes without saying.

Bruh! Yo dude is you don't like Bocchi The Rock just say you don't like it, don't disrespect other people's taste. Not everyone's taste should be the same as your, you've get a whole sh1t in ur comment... No matter what you say it's your top 10 worst anime and than why I don't get your opinion... Not every My Hero Academia anime must rated 10 out of 10 scores since My Hero Academia anime just some pointless and awful filler episode since season 4 second cour (expect the last 5 episode are both of (if not most) excellent) and season 5 which become below average/mediocre anime (season 5 only), sorry dude huh... You don't ask me why Bocchi The Rock is every get better and (if is one of the best anime of the year) has tier 0 (Notice: T0 = Mostly magnificent and amazingly). What a shame are you ruined Bocchi The Rock mostly greatly, glorious and memorable things and just more pathetic! I'm so sorry, you cry more and so nothing, nothing, nothing about how good is Bocchi The Rock anime! Read manga idiot! You should shut the fuck up.

Genuinly loved this anime. I was a bit done with slice of life for a while but this anime definitely brought me back. I was worried I wouldn’t like it since I didn’t really enjoy k-on, but this was so different. The songs, story and characters were just great and fun to watch. There was a nice balance between the story and comedy. I loved seeing Hitori-Chan’s journey, and to be honest I’d love a season 2 or some ovas of this. Can’t wait to see what the future holds, and can’t wait to watch some more slice of life anime

Bocchi stage diving was the peak of this series.

At the end of the day this series was more of a comedy/SOL for me then CGDCT and way more then a music anime.

Cloverworks did great but they failed to deliver whenever instruments were being played. But at the end of the day like I said this really isn't about the music and it's more about Bocchi's development.

Solid show. 8.8/10

Well that pretty fun... the show and final performance ended in kind of a anticlimactic way, I assume Bocchi still has a bit to learn about how to deal the interactions with the audience when she has to perform. Anyhow good way to end and what amazing looking cover at the end. I'm expecting a season 2 to come out some day... I mean with how it did well in Japan along with good ratings I would be more surprised if it doesn't get a new season. We all wait, in the mean time... good job to all the girls!

Thank You.
This is one of the best refreshing anime of the year.
Wow.
What!, A episode it was!
Starting with so much amazing song.

We go to see again, amazing CG and 2D mix in the song performance.
And, after a little introduction, we got to see another banger.
Wow, three banger songs in one episode.
The song was just too much amazing, the animation was perfect, but the best was music performance, and I would give a big thanks to the production team, the way that they managed the music is so much amazing, in the 8th episode also, even a amateur can tell the difference, and again you can literally grasp the music even if you are a amateur the sound when the string broke, the using of glass and the bass overwhelming the guitar and Kita's solo.
You can just feel the music in your heart.

And, let me tell you something:
When Bocchi jumped from the stage,
I stopped my screen and went for a stroll in my room, that's how much I was embarrassed when it happened.
😵‍💫😵‍💫
But, I resolved myself and came back to the screen and it happened.

L-L-L-L-Let me continue.

After woking up with another but familiar ceiling, I really liked the conversation between Kita and Bocchi-chan, I had a feeling that Kita was somewhere underwhelmed to perform like Bocchi.
But, glad she did her best.
Bocchi bought her new guitar with having Super Saiyan mode before, and we got see Chadika's first looks.
Ryo knows the soul of a musician and she and Bocchi-chan have many things in common, the difference only is that Bocchi-chan has social anxiety and Ryo is a introvert.

This series just had stole my heart from the very first look, with its amazing and great and relatable characters and with interesting setting and plot and great voice acting with so much freedom and creativity in animation and with out of the bounds direction.
For me the best directors of the year are:
Toshimasa Ishii
Megumi Ishitani,
Saitou Keiichirou.

So, once again.
This series is a MASTERPIECE.
What!, A Christmas Gift we get this year!
And,
This is the best Anime of the Season and even contenders for Anime of the Year.

THANK YOU FROM THE ROCK OF MY HEART.
THANK YOU.

If you listen to Bocchi's solo it actually sounded good. That's with the nerf of having her 1st string snapped and 2nd string unusable so she had to do bottle neck guitar sliding.

Nice adlib for Kita too.

Wouldn't expect Bocchi to jump into the crowd like that, but it mainly went just how I thought it would.
This has been quite the season.
Really wasn't expecting much from this anime, but it is definitely the "hidden gem" of Fall 2022 (if you can even call it that).
Overall I'd say it has been a very enjoyable show, having some lovely CGDCT and comedy moments.
It manages to make so many different things work well together, like the variety of characters that comprise the main cast.
Would definitely be able to recommend this.

I'm taking this moment to flex the fact that my account is 8 years older than yours, I watched K-on while it was airing, I'm not a zoomer, yet I loved this anime
Just noticed this guy is complaining about Gen Z anime watchers when he was born in 2002 lol
See how you didn't read anything I've written, I gave the show an 8, obviously I am self aware I am a zoomer and I like the anime because of the same reason I've talked about. Typical of MAL behaviour, feeling targeted about your tastes meanwhile the analysis do not concern you at all. You can like this show, everyone can and I do as well but I try to understand why the vast majority of people would brand this show as a masterpiece while it's clearly not even tho it's good. Don't care about the MAL score as well, just the overall reception I find intriguing.

Bocchi is bocchi. its story is pretty grim tbh since we're talking about someone with social anxiety putting everything on music and dont get me start talking about kikuri who is basically a girl who's gonna die in a very young age as her alcohol addiction goes in a downward spiral that it started to affects her life. this is a direct opposite of the lighthearted story of k-on. (pretty much, k-on sugarcoated a lot of things. its unnoticeable until you realized "well..if i'm that position, i maybe in a fetal position")
That might be one of the biggest headcannon I've seen in my life, "dive of young age as her alcohol addiction etc". I hope you actually know her addiction is treated as a joke during the entire series and that  alcoholic character are a standard of anime ? Also most people don't die of alcohol at a young age otherwise half of japanese population would die before they hit 25. Bocchi's story is lighthearted, her anxiety is used as a way to create as much visual metaphor as possible but there is not character drama in Bocchi, they don't face much hardships compared to what at real group would suffer, they can practice easily, they have the money they need, they are extremely skilled for their age and they succeed all their performances. If the plot was treated in a true realistic approach if wouldn't be a CGDCT anymore because you'd see them fail each episodes, which is the opposite of what this genra want of a show. K-ON! didn't have much drama either but it had one arc dedicated to a tension of 2 characters inside of the band, something you never see in Bocchi because it's centered around just Bocchi overcoming her anxiety. Your writing style seems quite unexperimented so I don't blame you.

Now enough with replying because it is fundamentely pointless, this show has success and my goal is to understand why because I've watched enough KyoAni and Doga Kobo show to know having cute girls and a good production value doesn't create automatically an acclaimed masterpiece in the anime community.
I believe Bocchi popularity is due to its vibes, I'm a very aesthetic man and the shows I like the most have this research put in their aesthetic, drawing things that look and feels cool. Bocchi is exactly that, the imagery of a cute pink hair girl in a black shirt doing sick guitar riffs to overcome her social anxiety on a stage is cool, it's out of the norm and it has this bizarre indie vibe you don't have find in 90% of modern anime. I think that's what people resonated with Bocchi, the vibes, especially of these performances, the effort the animator put into it gave them this down to earth feel of overcoming your problems through music. My main issue is that those performances are just a slight part of the show, most of it looks like any cute girl doing a specific hobby show you can find on the catalogue. I you look at the vast majority of the fanart of Bocchi the rock they are either Bocchi being embarassed or Bocchi being cool doing the performance of episode 8. The title drop as well in the same episode is a good trick Bocchi has used to make believe of an emotional climax. It's extremely nicely put in the conversation but it fails as representing anything other than what I talk about, "Bocchi the Rock" are these moments Bocchi is rocking the stage, but Bocchi the Rock the show is 5% of that and 95% of cute girls comedy skits. I have now a lot of troubles finding people able to contradict this ideas because most of the discussion surrounding Bocchi is vague and centered about liking these cute girls, which I give them, are very cute, but unfortunately Bocchi fall in this category of show people know they like but they cannot explain why they like them. Everyone can like the show they like for whatever reason they feel and they don't have to explain it at all, but sometimes it's cool to know why you like the things you like and that's analysis.

And so the day has arrived. The final episode of Bocchi the Rock is here.

This was one of my most anticipated anime this season since the first PV was released. I never would've imagined that it would be this good. It surpasses the expectations I had. You can feel the love poured into each episode, a passion project. A lot of people say this show is similar to K-on, but I never see it that way. Bocchi the Rock and K-On only has one thing in common: CGDCT about band. It is executed very differently, the casts are different, the settings are different, the song genre is different (don't really understand about musical genre but songs from both band sound very different). Because they are different, I don't think one is superior than the other.

I'd been giving this show an 8/10 rating all this time, but after the final episode, I will change it to 9/10. Bocchi the Rock was a candidate for anime of the year (at least for me), the other one was Summertime Render. Now that both shows have aired, I'm certain that Bocchi the Rock takes the crown this year. While Summertime Render is amazing, it's lost its charm in the last arc, and this is not the case with Bocchi the Rock. It stays true from start to finish.

I'm going to miss this series. I hope we got to hear more Distortion as it's my favorite ending, but I'm satisfied.

9/10, here's hoping season 2 down the line.

This has me sworn off the 'Cute Girls Doing Cute Things' genre for life, I never want to watch another show like this or K-On ever again. 1/10. A single point for the cool music and nothing else.

You gave Arifureta a 9 and Black Clover a 10.  Your opinions are not to be taken seriously
And he gave Beast Tamer an 8 which was one of the worst anime of the season 🤡

I really liked what I saw for the past 12 weeks. These girls are a lovely bunch together and I want more of it. You could tell Cloverworks was having fun with this anime for sure. Score-wise it's for sure my personal anime of the year. Planning on rewatching this for sure somewhere in the future.

I ordered the full CD to pay my support for the Kessoku Band. Doing that also makes Ryo doesn't have to eat weeds for yet another day.
