Damn I like King. He is pretty suave and cool in his own way. And the way Isagi got to know his weapon was pretty cool.

Team Z didnt disappoint. They played pretty well to their teams strengths all things considered and were able to coordinate their weapons to achieve the goal. Just that the last minute twist damn. They copied their own methods and used it against them. Thats gotta suck.

Personally I hope that Team Z wins otherwise damn they arent going to enjoy football anymore.

I like how everyone, even from team V, and even Kuon have their own reasons for doing shit.

Currently Isagi knows his weapon: Spatial awareness and opponent understanding. He just needs to find out the best way to bring it out to help score goals.

And hot damn even Ikaguri is able to help out.

Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate.

I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was bound to lead me to a slow death.

its simple, barou is the king
but nagi is the god.

I guess so. Barou needs to be humble then lol. He's not undefeatable.

can't you just enjoy the show instead of focusing on the background players 🤦🏼

The budget for this episode was clearly much lower than the previous ones. With the overuse of CGI, skipped animations and many sets where it's clear that the character drawings were outsourced. Expecially the purple hair guy looked like he was from about 8 different animes.

It's fine to find fault with things you enjoy

not give spoilers but keep watching, he gets humbled in the second selection arc. tbh you should read the manga, its even better than the anime

animation comes with enjoying the show..if you want ..then enjoy breserk anime....plot is amazing but only problem is cgi and animation right...it is called anime because it depicts story by animation...if it's bad then whole setup gets bad....I am not saying blue lock is bad...I love the series but the animation was not it...this time

The show continues to be watchable but nothing special for me. Man Nagi really getting on my my nerves though, sounding like Sloth from FMA:B. Between hom and the brothers we've had two really annoying antagonists in the last few episodes.

Bachira and Isagi's relationship is quite something. I love how absolute soft and intimate Bachira is around Isagi: the body language, his voice in their private convos, the way he speaks even (very informal, very direct, doesn't even use any honorific at all). It's a joy to watch - and it also makes me dread the day these two will inevitably have to face off.

worry not, you're in safe hands here 🙏🙏

Whenever I see "BL Ranking" I'm thinking of something else other than "Blue Lock"

I like how they showed a bit of their game vs team V here at the end of the episode rather than cutting once they enter the field or something. Definitely helps getting you more hyped up for the next episode imo.

I think the problem with the basic premise is really starting to shine through the rest of the... story? setup? something.

Ego wants to create a sort of über-striker to make the national team the best, the one to win the world cup - one striker, on the "corpses" of 299 others, whose "whole career" is supposed to end altogether when they inevitably fail, at one point or another. But that's just... not how any of it works? I mean, sure I get the whole national pride angle, especially in the year of an actual world cup, especially now that it's ongoing. And yet, even with my lack of interest in pretty much all actual sports, I know that's not all there is to it. Hell, "national teams" themselves often have a lot of foreign players from any and all parts of the world. Even beyond that, there's a hell of a lot of other opportunities, a bunch of other leagues to play in as professional athletes. There's no way failing this team deathmatch (which in itself is nonsensical anyway) should mean the end of their career as a whole. Dream? Sure, if someone dreams about being in the same league as the likes of, idk, Messi and Ronaldo - but then that kinda ephemeral, really big dreams are just that, too: ephemeral. Good thing to aim for the top, but by the time you're in highschool, especially as you get closer to the end of it than you are from the start, you should be aware of the realities.

Point being: the more they try to hammer home this "my entire career is on the line here!" shtick, the less effective it becomes, and soon enough it'll just turn outright annoying. And when Igaguri laments on having to take over the temple if he doesn't become a soccer player? Dude, it might be less than ideal, but at least you've got a ready-made backup plan to fall back on: that's actually invaluable af. Hell, I'm willing to bet even Reo is more relatable when he tells us nothing his parents have given him has been what he wanted, their actual life circumstances notwithstanding.

On other notes...
Horikoshi might want to check in, because Raichi really feels like a Chinese knockoff Bakugo, voice included which is really quite incredible.
I really don't understand why soccer players have to look like bodybuilders. Especially at this age. Thing's actually going on, everyone can check out any FIFA game, none of those guys look like that. Barou would feel more at home in a Tekken game than he looks here.
"Wife material Reo" is hilarious, I saw the clip on Twitter after the episode aired in Japan and they posted it, I didn't catch the title itself but that made the entire thing magnitudes better. They feel a bit like they got lost on their way to the EnStars set, not that I mind. lol

The point was that igaguri doesnt want to become a monk, retard. He hates the temple. What backup plan lmao thats the bad end

a build-up episode as expected. the stakes couldn't be higher. them shaking out of fear was a clear indicator.

still we got to see a little soccer anyway. king is unbelievable.

i don't see how our team z can win this time. they gotta win though and they will or else there will be no blue lock anime for us lol. let's see how they win. next 1 to 2 episodes should be really good. looking forward to that.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.

This anime's only standing out aspect is well-animated action part and it was mediocre this episode + really too little of it. What sucks even more is that it will take at least 3-4 episodes to show the entire match so essentially waiting an effing month to watch 1.33 hours of content. The good thing is that judging by current pacing, 24 episodes will be enough to animate the series in its entirety.

What? Manga has like 180+ chapters and current pacing is around 2.5 chapters per episode.
24x2.5 is not 180+ …

It would need to adopt like 7 or 8 chapters per episode to cover the whole manga.

Actually if you look on the scoreboard, Team X lost three matches and only won one match which was against Team Z, yet Barou is still the top scorer in the entire building. They kind of delve into why that is later but it's related to the kind of player Barou is.

Good episode. It's hard to route against Nagi and Mikage with that kind of backstory, hope we get to see some more. I didn't expect Kuon to still be allowed to be in the same room as team Z, whom he betrayed, considering what he pulled off. It was nice seeing the King himself, once more, going up against Isagi one on one. Will be eagerly waiting to see what Isagi's missing puzzle piece is, and then him making a play.

So looks like Kuon will stick around but not do anything... and team Z is supposed to find a way to win against an undefeated team while being handicapped?? Talk about odds being stacked against you. Beyond that, Reo and Nagi were able to copy a move on the spot that team Z came up with and score! That Nagi guy has some incredible talent especially for someone as carefree as he is.

I feel some dread because of the odds against team Z but I'm thinking Isagi will think of something creative and who knows... maybe the traitor Kuon will end up helping out... we'll see.

Mendokusai Nagi is kinda annoying. And King Barou making a cameo to show off his insane vocabulary!

And there goes another mom being voiced by Hayami Saori. Saturdays sure are a blessed day.

That aside, most boring episode till date. Between lame backstories and cringe dialogues, it sure was a pain to get through it all.

And also, how can Barou be "King" when there are 200+ players better ranked than him?

is it just me, or was the CG a bit worse than usual? Also Nagi constantly saying mendokusai got a bit annoying after the first 3 times lol. I feel like his character (the lazy yet extremely talented guy) is a bit overdone at this point. Karma from Assassination classroom and Shikamaru from Naruto are better examples of Nagi in my opinion. Definitely excited to see what happens in the game against team V though. This show has really tempted me to read the manga, not sure whether I want to though...
