The Alan Institute only supports/saves people with a special talent. The supported people do not need to pay anything, but there is one catch. They need to fulfill the purpose given through their talent at it's fullest. And they will be forced to do that, as seen by Chisato

See, I take issue with that because Chisato's ability to dodge bullets doesn't mean she has to be a killer. Yoshi just saw her dodging bullets and decided that she has to be a killer. She's already the best Lycoris DA has largly due to her ability so why does she specificaly need to kill? Is the anime saying that the Alan institute just decides what your goal in life is once they help you? If so, what's the motivation? Because "God gives people talents so we have to deliver them" is a moronic, self-righteous, grandiose motivation. And we know that the Alan institute may have been doing this for a 100 years so is there a really old guy that has that ideology or is the entire management made of morons who inheret the same mission to "deliver talents"?

They might be actually a institute of rich people, who follow the ideology that people with special talents need to use these talents for the greater good. It might be a talent to be the fastest runner or even the talent to kill.
Yoshi observed Chisato as a child and the conclusion he came to was that this talent can only have one purpose and one purpose alone. The purpose to kill people, to be the most effective lycoris. Normally Lycoris kill their target and make them disappear. In that sense it makes sense even that Yoshi believed her to be the perfect lycoris, the perfect killing machine.
The Alan Institute decides always based on the talent they observed, which will be the mission the supported person needs to accomplish as payment.

This might be one of the first times I've seen an anime depict how boobs really look when someone is laying down. Y'know, showing the folds of fat and their slope and what not -- not just perky for the sake of being perky.

Oh okay, this was an assassination attempt. I remember asking last episode what could possibly happen by tampering with her heart? They mean to kill her. But, really, even then, it seems like a waste? It seems like Shinji really wanted to make Chisato a tool of war again, not kill her. The only thing I can surmise at this point is they'd rather her be dead than useless? Which seems a bit weird, but, hell, so are most people in charge of dystopian factions.

With the way things are playing out Chisato really might die by the end of the series. Which, I'm okay with, but it is rather sad considering her demeanor and role in the series. I've been watching this series over the span of like an hour, because I'm drunk and Forum Games is distracting me. But now that I'm at the surgery scene I'm sort of wondering if the show won't just cop out and give Chisato a new heart. If the Alan Institute made one once, and continues to improve and advance, I don't see why -- now, years later -- they couldn't have a better, even more advanced, artificial heart.

This almost seems to confirm that Mika and Shinji were lovers. Hence, Chisato being their lovechild.

"...Is your mother worried? Would you like us to assign someone to worry your mother?"

Another overall great installment of a further peering into an unexpected world and found family cast of characters I didn't know I wanted or needed at this point in time.

The only thing I've disliked so far in this series comes from this episode, where Chisato is portrayed at a much younger age (was she supposed to be five or six years-old?) already having her skill of gunfighting prowess as far as pinpoint trajectory accuracy, dodging, etc., as I thought this would actually have a plot point developed to explain it, such as being linked with some purposeful feature or fluke of the artificial heart machinery, or some other explanation.

I would say it does confirm it, although I thought even the bar scenes in one of the previous episodes already did. The only way it could be more explicit is if they outright openly said something like "That was great sex." or kissed or performed some other overt romantic/sexual act onscreen, which almost certainly isn't going to happen.

I mean, they were in the same hotel room, both wearing bathrobes.

But yeah, I think in the earlier interaction I sort of just thought they were like really close friends. But, it's hard to imagine any other excuse for the scene in this episode. Presumably, if they wanted, they'd easily be able to have separate rooms. Generally, the business of assassination and such is rather lucrative -- money isn't an option. So...

I guess all we have about the Alan institute are theories until the show tells us something or completely forget about it, which I'm afraid it will.
If that was true then he shouldn't blame anyone but himself if she interpreted the gun he gave her as her mission to become the best serial killer. He seems more concerned with her killing, rather than anything to do with being a good Lycoris, because she is already the best Lycoris the DA has to the point of them asking her to join them on their raid on Majima despite her unwillingness to kill people.
That third point is what I hate about them. They basically give you support, with a caveat. But they're not gonna tell you what the caveat is. They're just gonna be vague about it. Chisato can not be blamed for misinterpreting the gun. That is their failure, and they punish her for it. And they prohibit any contact with the people they help so there's no reasoning with them or any way to hold them accountable.

The tone shift messed me so hard that I forgot to do shit straight for a while. Red flag...at this point you are now more relevant than Truck-kun and I appreciate it for the wrong reason.

Chisato's artificial heart got overcharged which messed up her deadline and now Takina is sad. The DA got in the opportunity and tries to bring both Chisato and Takina to the Majima mission but for now that will be on-hold. Also the long-awaited flashback, and first of all seeing Shinji and Mika together is hot. But yeah Chisato was a machine with a broken heart back in the day, and seeing her embrace Shinji made me feel something inside.

It's sad that LycoReco had to go this route, but it is to be expected and not all sweet stuff stays sweet over time, they will be spoiled (I'm talking about us fans btw) which is not good. And with our girls having a very great smile to each other as the snow begins to fall, we witnessed Lycoris Recoil's happy mood truly depart, and for the remaining 4 episodes, it's all up in the air...man this show provided me so much happy moments that it sucks to turn into a gloomy direction.

Chisato is still the exception here. Lycoris are trained assassin, their sole purpose is to neutralize the threats to society. Yoshi did not know about the decision from Mika to prepare non lethal ammunition. Of course this is why he saw Chisatos talent as a Lycoris to be the perfect assassin. That is why he based on this assumption her deed for the support of her life with a artificial heart.
Yoshi also wanted Mika do bring over the message to Chisato that her purpose in life is to take the lives of other people. It was Mika that did not clarify Chisato the deed she has to fulfill for her life supporting device.
Yoshi is actually not even allowed to make contact with Chisato at all.

As for now, so.. um.. em... the BAD ending is imminent - whether we want it or not, the director has all of us by our most defenseless parts.

Might aswell bet whether the series will fall in to a disasterous failure of an ending from a directors stand point e.g. Frankxxx, or whether the series r gonna cycle away from the equinox phase that its currently at, in to the bright future, fulfilling the hidden hint in the name of the series itself - the recoiled final goodbye.

p.s. if these final four episodes will contain dreadful incident on Takina taking the toll against terrorists, with her heart being donated as the last undamaged part of hers to Chisato, and the latter lives on this is gonna b the loudest failure of the series in 2022. Fingers crossed this wont b a thing.

I have to come back to my point about her already being the best lycoris. We know she left the main DA building, they didn't chase her out. Takina said she could still be non lethal and stay in DA. So the only one having an issue with her using non-lethal bullets is Yoshi. She's out here, utillizing her ability, being the best lycoris DA has, but that's not enough. She HAS to kill. Can he never change his mind about her mission? Also, she should be informed, in clear language, what the trade-off for giving her the artificial heart is before the surgery. You don't get to not tell her then have complete lack of respect for her autonomy. I really hope the anime addresses this these next few episodes cause there are a lot of moral issues with what Yoshi is doing.
And I don't know that it was Mika's job to tell her what her mission is. All Yoshi tells him to do in the hotel scene is to help her utilize her talent, which he does. Again, Yoshi being vague and blaming other people for it.

I can't even fully enjoy Chisato's happy self, I am just tearing up man.

The irony, Yoshi wanted a killer, but he got the ultimate pacifist instead and he was the reason for it lmao. God, this show is so good.

What's in the box Yoshi, huh, what's in the fucking box?! C'mon Majima, time to fulfill your mission and balance the world by keeping Chisato and Takina happy together.

I hope that's not their final date. Can't wait for the next episode and hopefully pain doesn't come along with it.

Mika gave the promise to Yoshi that he would support Chisato to be the best killer. This would include of course to make her realize that her mission has to be becoming the perfect killer. At the bar forbidden Yoshi even said to Chisato that she should ask Mika about the mission she has to fulfill.

Oh, yeah. He said that when they were looking at the mechanichal heart. So it would make her continued ignorance Mika's fault. I just don't understand why Yoshi can't reevaluate her mission or his impression of what her mission should be.
And don't remind me of the bar scene. The only reason why we don't get a conversation is because Kurumi and Mizuki interrupt the scene for no fucking reason. So frustrating.

Chisato, Mika and Shinji's story is really nice. Mika and Shinji both agree to have Chisato as their illegitimate daughter, Shinji is set on Chisato saving(killing) as many people as possible before she dies, which isn't great parenting i won't lie. Mika agrees but as we see can't bring himself to do it, combined with young Chisato getting hooked on the idea of being a saviour, but not Shinji's definition of a saviour, I think leads to Alan Institute eliminating Chisato cus she can't complete her mission, just Shinji has to be the agent for it, or Shinji made the decision himself.

AH they really pulled on the heartstrings this ep. Chisato and Takina together time is worth cherishing especially with the added timer. They made sure to make it as wholesome and as sweet as possible so when it loops round it hurt double as hard, and i'm not ready for that. Sadly no Sakana but the last scene of falling snow was amazing.

OOOOW really liked that after credits scene. Majima is such a wild card that him holding Shinji can go so many ways, either he becomes some anti-hero for Chisato's story or Majima just wants a bigger sponsorship.

Cute epiosde; this is the reason why I love Lycoris Recoil. Not the story what is interesting to me but purely the interactions between chapters and a bit of the story that gives depth to them. But, the voice actors are a league above the rest.

Death is inevitable to all of us especially to this assassin who probably has a top speed of Mach 20 It all comes down to time when she'll probably die and now we have a deadline

Even death she takes it like a sleeping pill and keeps being conscious she doesn't care she knew it was coming and I kind of respect that, Relieving to see what happened in the past and how sweet and kind Chisato was back then

Oh here we go I especially like these scenes where they go out and try outfits this day off is a 10/10, The timing really makes it hard to bear to see these two especially when they're separating at the end.

Of course no one questioned the doctor nor Kusunoki about how an outsider managed to infiltrate their secret organization and that "it wasn't part of my job" line from Chisato really bothered me. She says she wants to make people happy and stuff but she sure doesn't give a shit about the terrorist who has disturbed the peace and killed dozens of people already.
