It's hilarious that people in this thread do not even comprehend the story and romcoms in general.

Kazuya somehow made her heart go "doki doki" for no reason like a typical harem MC he is, and that's literally it.

The reason was demonstrated and explained (through dialogue) in season 1 episode 7. It's even a trope in fiction.

We ought to differentiate between liking a character and liking a character's personality, I think.

No, it wasn't a compliment.
If you are saying, that Ruka is supposedly a good character, because her heart went "doki doki" because she fell for illusion of Kazu caring for Chuizury and that's why she want him to himself, then she is actually even more repulsive.

No, that is not what I'm saying. I'm saying there's a reason, and it was very clearly conveyed to to the audience such that it is a trope typical of romcoms, as you stated previously

"Kazuya somehow made her heart go "doki doki" for no reason like a typical harem MC he is, and that's literally it."

what you just described is one reason (which contradicted the quoted post), but do you know why it's a reason?

I know a lot of people find her irritating and annoying but I don’t see her that way. She’s just trying to hold on to the love she’s found, she might not be doing it the right way but it’s not 100% her fault. Kazuya could have easily just cut things off with her after a week but he didn’t. Then he complains about how he wishes he had a girlfriend to do things with and completely forgets about Ruka. Like it’s totally unfair to her and I sympathize with her about it. I just wanted to see how everyone sees Ruka.

It’s gross, if anybody like raku or mami I’d say go to therapy, one is completely controlling, and forced her way into his house, work and makes his life worse. The other is just completely manipulative and only wanted him when she saw him with another person. Like if you have a brain you can tell who is the clear winner, sumi (think that’s her name) is just a sweetpea

So the character that’s been in like 3 episodes so far is the winner. Cool

I'll gotta agree, three epsidoes or not, I can't see anything going wrong with Sumi chan, only wish she fell for a better guy than Kazuya...

So how exactly am i objectifying women. So you are telling me appreciating anime girls for both their beauty and character is objectifying. Like you are totally making 0 sense rn of course I cant show my appreciation for their characters in my profile with pictures but just so you know I appreciate Ellis' the Goblin Slayer character a fucking lot and I cant believe a guy like you is here to doubt my love for her. You are here spouting nonsense about my love for the character. How would you feel if I talked shit about you in general it wouldnt feel good now would it.

Yeah let me type an essay about why eris is best girl just because a guy that cant see a woman with a bikini is offended and thinks I am objectifying women just cause I have a girl in a fucking bikini at my profile. Please

From inspection of your profile, you have not 1 but 26 scantily clad girls on your profile description (please do check the count). With that many, it would seem to people that you value women only for their bodies, which is why I found it quite humorous. But I get your point, since you can think of them as human/living beings other than sex objects as well. Still, it was kinda confusing without any description.

Does he need to add a disclaimer to his profile or some shit for your sake?

DISCLAIMER: I LIKE SEXY WOMEN, BUT I ALSO APPRECIATE THEM FOR THEIR PERSONALITIES.

It's weirder to me that your immediate assumption is that the dude doesn't view or treat women as humans just because he likes to put ecchi shit everywhere on his profile. That leap has always been the weird ass part about the objectification concern to me, and that's not even close to being his fault.

What exactly is your point though? Ruka kissed kazuya against his will so that’s SA and she objectifies Kazuya. Knows his feelings and doesn’t even care, she only cares if her heart rate gets faster. Your point is completely irrelevant because someone liking bikinis has nothing to do with a completely unrelated character having a shitty personality. Educate yourself before you start barking like a dog and embarrassing yourself in front of the entire world. I personally don’t care because it’s a work of fiction but your point was just beyond retarded.

First of all your counting of the girls was off by 2-3 depending on if you count girldeus as well so it's actually 28/29 girls that decorate my profile but that's not my point. Accusing me for objectifying them is kind of harsh but let's say I am objectifying the anime women what's wrong with it. They are girls that obviously not real since they are fictional. If course Eris is my number one love and I absolutely love her but saying that she is a real human being would be too unrealistic she is a character in an amazingly well written ln series called mushoku tensei. Which is also true for all the characters I have decorating my profile. I just hope people would understand that even if there are girls with revealing clothing in my profile I am not thinking of them as sex objects I am just thinking of them as nud material. The end

I am just neutral about Ruka, as she only does things which are destined by the god aka the author.

the author already appointed Ruka as the official cockblocker of this series after all.
Along with Mami the antagonist, it's also Ruka's destiny to disturb the relationship between Mr. wimp and Mrs. bland.

We can't do anything about it.

Because having ecchi stuff represents a similarity between person accusing another of having a bad personality and the accused. Kind of like the pot calling the kettle black, but in a not too similar way. That's why I found it funny. That's not to say the ecchi guy has a bad personality, but certainly someone with all ecchi and hentai for instance in their completed list wouldn't give me the impression that they're the most upstanding citizen.

So you assume personality traits and worldviews about people you've never interacted with and likely never seen interact with anyone based on their taste in anime, and then try to use that to make accusations about their human character over trite opinions like disliking a fictional character's personality.

That's what you're telling me, correct?

No, it's correct. You tried to present it in a cheeky way, like you were mocking them for it, at that. You told them you found it funny. Your point was that, because he's an ecchi fan, he must dehumanize women, and that it's funny for someone who must dehumanize women to care about their personality. Your way of asking them for clarification was telling them to do character writeups on their profile to prove it.

It's a pretty overt attempt at peer pressuring someone through mockery, and then making demands of them to appease you specifically after doing so. I don't think somebody who acts like this has any real ground to stand on when it comes to a dispute about perceived character - especially when one side is operating off of assumptions and the other is operating off of direct actions take against others.

If I may be so intrusive, I think it'd do you well to reconsider how you view and treat people around you. Seeking self-improvement tends to speak volumes to one's character.

Incorrect, again. Way to put words in my mouth, dude. I suggested that to the individual because people, especially those who are new to anime, would likely make similar assumptions, not that I wanted to read paragraphs of writing. I do not care enough about them to see this "proof". It appears that you yourself are operating off of assumptions.

I did not put words in your mouth. I simply restated what you yourself said - that you told him you found it funny, the humor being based off of projecting character deficits onto him for his taste in anime, and that you asked him to do character write-ups or some sort of equivalent to prove he appreciated these characters for their personalities. When I put all of that together and add in the context that it's in response to his negative opinion towards a character, I reached the conclusion you were trying to peer pressure him in the way I described. I don't see any other conclusion I can possibly reach, given what's before me.

You're also continuing to do so by trying to make an appeal to an invisible entity that you're claiming will judge him for his taste, i.e. newer anime fans. This only reinforces that point, and in doing so reinforces my perception of your character. It's a manipulative, pressuring response to his opinion, ostensibly in response to a trite disagreement over a character.

It's very silly behavior on your part, to put it mildly.

Correct.

and that you asked him to do character write-ups or some sort of equivalent to prove he appreciated these characters for their personalities.

Incorrect. Nowhere did I ask that he does write ups as "proof", only that doing so would make a better impression of his profile (to other people, not necessarily to myself) that he did. Next you will claim that this is a disguised attempt at telling him to write up "proof" to appease me.

When I put all of that together and add in the context that it's in response to his negative opinion towards a character, I reached the conclusion you were trying to peer pressure him in the way I described.

You understood why I found it humorous (which a necessary condition is that he said something negative about a character or individual's personality), but not the following posts.

You're also continuing to do so by trying to make an appeal to an invisible entity that you're claiming will judge him for his taste, i.e. newer anime fans. ... why do you think I made an appeal to an "invisible entity"?

Mm. And exactly how does this do anything to combat the idea that you were trying to manipulate him for his opinion by exercising peer pressure and mockery? You're still trying to get him to do something with the idea of changing how he presents himself to better suit your own understanding of how people operate - all while trying to lay the fault at his feet, at that, for having his profile like it is. Again, by projecting personality deficits onto him and trying to be mocking in doing so. And again, in response to him expressing a negative opinion on character personalities.

Framing it as a suggestion doesn't change the core issue with what you're doing here. It's wasting time on a frivolous technicality, i.e. you *technically* didn't ask him to, you merely suggested/encouraged it.

It makes it feel like you're trying to worm your way out of something here, if I can be blunt with you.

It's a pretty common rhetoric tactic, to try to prey on people's insecurities about how newer anime fans or non-anime fans might see them for not falling in line with what someone else is considering acceptable behavior. Many people in this fandom tend to seek validation of their hobby from outside entities and get concerned about how it's perceived, so it's a wide net type of tactic. It creates this invisible mass of people that you yourself dictate the values and perception of to the other party, which is exactly how it seems that you just tried to use that rhetoric tactic.

Hence, the invisible entity being an invisible audience you yourself are claiming is present and will respond like you say they will respond. It's like appealing to authority to make a point, but rather than the words of an authoritative figure that you're using to back yourself up, you're appealing to an invisible mass of people that you're dictating the values and perspectives of yourself - in a way, it's an appeal to authority by making yourself the authority and backing yourself up with a mass of people you claim are there tp give yourself legitimacy. Identifying transparent malicious intent like this isn't hard.

First, I am not mocking him because of his tastes. It's true that I don't view people with ecchi and harem favorably, which is why I made the first post. Second, yes it is peer pressure because the intent would be for them to reconsider their profile somewhat, but you were trying to speak of my intent as if I had some malice behind it such as demanding that he write up posts for my own sake. You are right for the former but wrong for the latter.

Framing it as a suggestion doesn't change the core issue with what you're doing here. It's wasting time on a frivolous technicality, i.e. you *technically* didn't ask him to, you merely suggested/encouraged it.

Regardless of the outcome, you are trying to make a claim about the level of malicious intent that I had for that individual.

And again, in response to him expressing a negative opinion on character personalities.

Correct. We established that this was a necessary condition for my original post in the first place.

Correct with the bolded. That's why I stated this because I believe people generally don't look favorably on anime users with mostly ecchi, hentai, etc. in their lists. Incorrect with the following sentence; I did not reference "other people" with the intention of dictating values in a malicious effort to alter his perception or for him to obey me.

That's all I needed you to say. No need to continue with this conversation further.

You framed your argument very poorly because previously you tried to accuse me of having malicious and mocking intent with my words. Now you are switching up the discussion to the outcome of my words. But I am glad we can settle this discussion.

Let's see how things wind up being perceived by people who see this conversation, and who's credibility takes the bigger hit based on how they conducted themselves.

I'm curious, what is your reason for continuing this discussion that you claimed didn't need to continue any further?

Whatever you think.

I wasn't aware we were on topic anymore. As I see it, I stopped participating in that conversation as soon as I said I was going to and now it's just pointless blabbering about other stuff that's irrelevant to that topic.

Do you want me gone that badly? :(

No, I'm just curious why you even bother. Are you purposefully trying to bait me to continue?

This just sounds kind of paranoid to me.

You quoted me after I had said I was done, and I continued responding to you as a result. I haven't pressed the actual topic any further, since you pretty much directly admitted to trying to pressure the guy to conform to your sensibilities. I don't have anything else to prove on that front.

I was asking why you continue despite that topic of the discussion being over. What is your reason exactly?
