| Your friend sounds like they don't understand that any concept can exist in fiction. Even morally bad or grey topics. I basically agree with @Asturaetus that it really depends on how it's used. But even if it's portrayed in a glorifying manner. Just don't watch it. It's not meant for you or your attention. |

| No but it wouldn't make a big difference for me if it was anyway. I see more people complaining about morally unacceptable things than I see actual morally unacceptable things in anime. Hell I see those things way more often in non-anime movies and tv shows while I barely watch them anymore. |

| People like your friend should watch & read reviews, recommendations and get as much information about an anime before starting it. That way they won't stumble on things they would rather not see. | personally idc so long as you know what you're doing with it. a lot of times it's used to make things edgy or added in for no reason. like it shouldn't be banned because sometimes people do it well. you should have freedom to include any topic in your story that you want but if you're writing is shit you can't get mad when people tell you your writing is shit. |

| Of course it shouldn't be banned completely as a topic to be touched. It's not like there are certain topics you just can not talk about. However, it should be less normalized for these things to be shown in a light-hearted, sometimes even positive light. The loli complex being shown as innocent, funny or sexy should be frowned upon absolutely. |

| Tabooization has never been healthy and is usually detrimental. If you care about bad shit happening irl, being able to show these things in fiction to raise awareness, is an important first step to actually trying to solve them. The only alternative is to sweep them under the rug, pretend they don't exist and let people irl keep suffering while you pretend nothing is happening. That's the kind of person your friend sounds like. 'I don't want to know about bad things because it's an invonvenience for ME personally when I am aware of these things'. Pure narcissism. |

I don't think the mere inclusion of these things are inherently negative. I think it's more about how you portray them. |
