| I've been watching anime since I was three, so I guess that would be 19 years (I'm 21), but I've only been serious about it for 6 years. I don't remember everything I've watched since then though, so everything in my list is from January 2007 up to now.. |

| If you count the old stuff that I didn't know was anime (Transformers, Voltron, Robotech), I'd be up a bit over 20 years. I started watching some DBZ tapes that a friend lent me maybe 10 years ago, but I didn't seriously get into watching anime until after I graduated high school (maybe 5 years ago) when I started buying DVDs of shows like Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, etc. I learned about fansubs after getting into Bleach and Naruto, and started downloading those maybe 2-3 years ago. That led to finding other fansubs, which eventually led me here, and after I found this place I started watching a ton of anime. I bet 80-90% of the shows I've watched I've seen in the last 1.5 to 2 years. |

| About 10-12 years, first anime was Sailor Moon and DBZ. Anime has become a necessity in life. :) It's a drug i most definantly could'nt stop using =p It would be funny being 70-80 years old still watching anime ^^ |

| I am not sure. It could range between 16 or 17 years. But then in between I stopped and then 2 years started watching again. Thought Voltron, Robotech and Transformers were not anime. Well, they could be anime as well. |

| If I count the time when I knew what I was watching anime it'll be 14 years. If I count the dubs I used to watch on Nick Jr, transformers, voltron that I didn't know was anime then it's more around 20 years. |

| Okay, I took melancholy seriously and only answered the "obsession" part of the question, but if we're all going back and including first anime--before we knew it was anime--counting Voltron and Robotech, then that puts me at 20+ years. Didn't know back then those were anime, since obviously a toddler/kindergartener wouldn't--but I did like them. So I'm told. XD But those were no different to me then the other cartoons I was watching back then. (10 years for serious watching, for people who won't read all the way through this thread) |

| I started watching when I was 6 so that makes it a little over 13 years of watching anime. I started with a bunch of mech anime from the 70's and some WMT anime as well. Although there was a time when I almost gave up on it. around 2002-2005, I rarely watched any because there weren't any titles that really caught my interest. I got interested again after watching FullMetal Alchemist on [as] back in late 2005. |

| In total, about 23/24 years if you count stuff like Force Five and Robotech. After this, watched a few raws including DYRL and a couple of the UY films, which used translation booklets downloaded from a Compuserve BBS. Got my first fansub (Ranma from the Ranma Project) about 18 years ago, which if I recall, coincided with my first commercial purchase, Gunbuster. Been watching about six or seven episodes weekly since 1996. Somewhere in there, around '89 or '90, I had the opportunity to watch an n-th generation copy of what I've been told was the first documented fansub anywhere, an episode of Lupin done by the Virginia Tech branch of the Cartoon/Fantasy Organization just up the road from me in Blacksburg. At the time I didn't see the big deal in it. I preferred just occasionally glancing down at the translation booklet/cheat sheet. Things have certainly changed, although with MKVs and softsubs, I've been tempted to rip the subs and print them out just to see if I can follow along any better now than I could then. :D |

| If I'll count those english dubbed such as Transformers, Voltron and Daimos, it would be about 15 years or so. But, I thought they were done by "Americans" at that time. I got hooked into anime knowing it is an 'anime' when I saw Kenshin Himura in AXN in english dubbed Samurai X. I don't remember the exact year and didn't finished the series because of AXN schedules and also because of school. Next came, Slam Dunk as english dubbed also in AXN, and the local dubbed Ghost Fighter and others shown the local TV. Due to lack of resources and diversion of interests, I was off from anime again. Then, I got back to anime pretty recenty again...just this last year which were now in subbed. Hmmm...it's almost 4 months from now. My completed list consisted from those only. |

| Since when I was a kid (about 17 years ago) watching french dubs of DB, DBZ, Sailor Moon, City Hunter (nicky larson), Ranma 1/2 and watching the occasional rental VHS: Battle Angel Alita, Akira, The Guyver. I only restarted serious anime watching (including new shows, movies etc) and reading manga since about 2 years ago thou. |

| If I ignore the anime watched when I was little (Sailor Moon, Mahou Tsukai Sally, Hello Lady Lin and DB --I knew they were different from normal cartoons but I had no idea they were anime) then it's 3 years. |

| TBH I only got into anime when my mate at school started watching it, at first I thought it was crap but it grew on me and now I'm addicted lol, even though i've only watched a few so far. I first started watching it about 1 year ago, I know its a short time but we have all got to start somewhere XD BTW if anyone knows any good anime for me to start watching please help me out. Thnx! |

Since it's such a huge fight on what should be considerred anime, just thought I throw that out there (I for one am just lean for animated and designed in japan for it to be just that) |

| I watched Dragonball Z and Digimon and Pokemon starting back in grade 4, which is 9 years ago, but I didn't really watch them BECAUSE they were anime, I just watched them because they were enjoyable cartoons. In terms of actual anime, I think Summer 05 with Gundam Seed and Inuyasha. I recently started watching subbed japanese anime online in August 07 with Claymore and Death Note. |
