Great episode, really loved Megumi's backstory. Dang he had a pretty messed up childhood =|

5/5 episode, amazing fight scene too during Megumi's Chimera Shadow Garden Domain Expansion.

Oh so you've read the manga?
What are the plot holes or inconsistencies?

In these 23 episodes there have been plenty of issues with the series, being the Junpei arc the only "above average" arc, and it only lasted like 6 episodes that had no consequence afterwards besides introducing Mahito. Things like bad pacing, bad characters, power levels being barely explained, inconsistent lore, bad fights, bad power ups, terrible comedy, and so on. This show only have one good thing and it´s production, everything coming from the manga is mediocre at best.

Also, you only have JJK in your manga list, don´t expect me to critique everything of the series if you are not going to take the criticism at all.

Not at all. I tried really hard to like the anime (and I planned on reading the manga even) but this never clicked with me in any way. I can´t even say I am the biggest fan of Kimetsu and yet I found that one a lot better in many things compared to JJK, which just feels like a bad ripoff of so many different things, with the main idea of Bleach and Ao no Exorcist.

The powerup from Megumi was so fucking awesome!!! And I see those flashbacks of Megumi, so he and Gojo goes all the way back. And that's neat, he's actually a part of the Zenin Clan, although not officially in it. And there is an intense battle with this buff dude, looks like this battle will cap of this first season of what has been an amazing anime.

You don't have to be a feminist to point out that a woman (fictional or otherwise) isn't being portrayed properly...

With that said, Kugisaki held her own and kept a cool head throughout the entire thing. She's not weak or a damsel in distress by any means.

Great episode. I love seeing Gojo actually doing his job as a teacher.

Juju Stroll was hilarious. It shows how, despite Fushiguro's demeanor, his friends see him as vulnerable and they go out of their way to protect him, and I think that, deep down, he actually appreciates it.

Megumi is a CHAD. That whole fight scene was so badass, I felt chills while watching his domain expansion. Also it was interesting to see his backstory and understand more about Megumi's character and his view on the world. I really liked seeing how Gojo and Megumi met and also how much Gojo helps him even now as a teacher. What a great episode!

Juju Stroll was amazing, as a Gojo simp MAPPA served up a feast with those frames!

So Gojou's advice to Megumi was more or less "Hey! Stop playing safe and act more recklessly", huh? Pretty shounen, not gonna lie. Still quite fitting tho.

Amazing episode. Megumi's mindset, though a little bit "edgy" for a teenager, totally caught my interest. Not to mention I'm glad he acknowledged in the end he was taking it way too seriously with his kindhearted step-sister.

Animation and fights were top notch as always and goddamn, Megumi's Domain Expansion looked so dope despite it being "incomplete".
A perfectly directed episode all in all.

By the way, this week's Juju Scroll was among the funniest ones this series has. Gojou fanservice is getting out of control tho. Like HOT DAMN!

The short skit is when everyone is trying to cockblocking Megumi and I like Gojou idea the most! Though I applaud that Yujii get "best friendo" idea from Toudou and try to apply in this situation.

Only one episode left, I've no doubt that there'll be season 2 and so on, but I hope it'll be in this year and not next.

I kind of thought the same thing when Nobara got sucked out of that place (again) but then she surprised me by saying she'd be fine. This girl can definitely hold her own unlike a lot of other female characters in shounen shows who need constant rescuing (even though they ought to be strong enough on their own). That said, it didn't bother me as much because Nobara then proceeded to hold her own against the chippendale dude with the smelly back.

OK, I've officially jumped the Gojou ship and climbed aboard the Fushiguro ship. What a great episode this was. The pacing and direction were very good and the action sequences were well executed, though I didn't expect anything less. Episode 23 was Megumi's episode and explored more of his backstory and where he's come from. We saw a completely different side of him when he finally let loose and it was glorious. It's always those quiet, introverted ones who surprise you the most. I can't wait for next week's finale.

Mappa gave Eso mild bdsm outfit, that's sad.

Got some nice screenshots of Satoru this episode, so pretty...

Those Jojo hands...

How can Fushiguro keep this straight face after seeing those eyes? My eyes would go 👀.

Satoru's acting like some pervert there XD

That Juju stroll was too funny XD

It's nice to see Fushiguro grow stronger slowly. He was some delinquent in his middle school, so shocking.

Fushiguro's personality just became opposite in that moment.

Megumi's domain expansion was so dope even though it was incomplete. After seeing Megumi's past, I can say that Megumi had been through a lot. His parent ran away, his sister got curse and Gojou said that Megumi was the Zenin that got cast away because of his father's decision to marry with a non-sorcerer woman.

-Itadori being above superhuman even before the Sukuna fingers makes no sense.
-His development from a no-one with just physical talent to matching the biggest prodigy within the students in less than 2 hours is stupid.
-The whole "power level" system wasn´t explained at all.
-Rankings meaning nothing, considering how some of the low tier students are actually better than the best ones according to the own school.
-Comedy being terrible every episode.
-Itadori dying multiple times on the series just to be revived because apparently Tsukuna makes you that good at everything.
-The backstory of Nobara is laughably bad (not like it matters, but still)
-The second arc of the tournament between students was a waste of time, including the fights "to death" before the actual tournament, which didn´t had any reason to be there outside of "monke likey fight".
-After the fights "to death" and the whole "lets´kill this kid" now everyone is a friend. Bullshit.

There is nothing good on this show outside of the Junpei arc, which again, wasn´t really important in the long run outside of showing Mahito.

Are you actually a manga reader?
1. This is explained in the manga. (Did you call Shibuya an "edge-fest" without even reading it?)
2. He personally trained with Gojo for over 2 months.
"biggest prodigy" if you mean Megumi he's suicidal and if you mean Todo Yuji's weaker.
3. Rewatch episode 4 it was explained.

Its pretty clear they didn't read the manga and are just talking shit. The moment I saw them mention Itadori dying "multiple" times is when I knew what they said was bullshit. The rest of their points are even more nonsensical, especially since it's all explained in the anime.

Rushing into close combat is ever Itadori's style. Still the combat animations for this battle really was top notch. Megumi letting go of his composed and calm nature and going all out was a moment long overdue. His defeat of his opponent really was impressive and bold. Back in school Megumi really was quite different. Hmm so Tsumiki was actually Megumi's stepsister. Despite Megumi's words she was someone that really made an impact on him and served to make him into who he is today. On the other front Kugisaki and Itadori sure are facing quite the odd but powerful fellow. Curious at how their fight will play out. Overall an excellent ep that while featuring an excellent fight with Megumi as the focus also served to expand upon his character substantially via the insight into his past and his revelation in the present.

Alright, it's about time for Fushiguro to let loose, and Daddy Gojo did just that.

You don't typically expect Fushiguro to be the wild and unbound sorcerer since he always attempted to retain his cool at all time, but this time, he didn't. DOMAIN EXPANSION! [Chimera Shadow Garden] While his domain expansion is incomplete and pretty much exhaust the life out of him. The fact that he managed to exorcise Sukuna finger's host which turns out to be more powerful than the one before, that speaks volume for how much stronger Fushiguro has become and the incredible potential he actually has in the future...

And of course the painfully required backstory for Fushiguro. One of the problems is the fact that they prematurely show off bits of some character's backstory VERY early on in the series. Why? Is that supposed to be some kind of preview or some way to artificially create ane emotional attachment between the audience and the characters before we even got to know the characters yet. Frankly, it's unorthodox and quite silly. HOWEVER! The backstory of Fushiguro Megumi with his half-sibling; Tsumiki that is shown right now, this... THIS is the natural way of showing off the backstory, it's appropriate and it makes sense.

Anyways seems like Megumi's outlook on the philosophy of 'good and bad' are his own, he despises people of both sides for his own reasons, to the point of being disgusted with his own sister, but it pretty much changed when his sister is cursed. Now matured and no longer a rebellious kid anymore, he only wishes that his sister would wake up already so that he could apologize. That's a sweet relation they got there, it's quite heartwarming indeed.

Oh, turns out Megumi's father is part of the Zen'in clan, which makes Megumi part of it too, yeah I know, crazy right? That would make Maki and Mai his distant cousins or something.

On a more comedic note, this week's Jujutsu Stroll is the most hilarious one by far, I love seeing the antics these 3 students under Gojo, especially when Gojo himself are involved in. Love it.

-They never went to explain why he is above superhuman. There are no martial arts or gifted genetics that puts you above Usain Bolt levels of speed or destroy buildings just by running through them.
-Yes, and in 2 months he is able to do a domain expansion, something that not even the top of the sorcerers outside of the Gojo-tier can do. Bullshit.
-They just said "There´s this thing called cursed energy and it works like every other chakra-ki thing" that´s it. Technically any person can be a sorcerer by that logic.
-Itadori was being the main attacker when he fought alongside Todo. He either sandbagged or Itadori is just that good for no reason.
-Not only Maki, pretty much everyone in Gojo´s school is better and by a longshot, even the panda. Which makes the whole "Whose school is better" pointless. As if the conflict wasn´t already
-Comedy being terrible and NObara´s backstory being stupid are very objective. I said they don´t matter because of what happens to her in Shibuya.
-They didn´t explained anything regarding the next arc or why the tournament was even important, but this is a shonen so we need fights even if they are unnecesary.

Jujutsu is mediocre, with great production values. As simple as that, I don´t even know why people hyped it up that much.

Domain Expansion from Fushiguro, even an incomplete one, is huge. I appreciate the unique take this series takes to character power growth and technique development. Certainly not a smooth curve at all- but rather characters being pushed, even by something small, and changing.

Another finger has been found, nice Megumi and also nice backstory. That domain moment was also great.

Was a great episode overall. Now for the last episode!

P.S. What was that post-credits scene, lol.
Come on man, where is that Noragami season 3 masterpiece. We want it, Bones!

Wouldn't the backstory be more efective if it was presented before the fight? Oh well, at this point I'm glad they at least tried to put something in here instead of the casual "let's get the quickest excuse for a fight to happen". And finally, one episode to finish this

Indeed a shame that the anime didn't show him in all his glory. What's the point of having R rated anime if you censor like that lol

Anyway, Megumi domain expansion was sick and this time I was actually feeling the OST.
Eso deserves to shine in his JOJOtsu Kaisen outfit.

MAPPA saw what Malaysia has been up to with AOT and decided to follow suit

Are you fucking kidding me AHAHAHAHA
