Guys, I'm beginning to think this anime is kinda gay. Not 100% sure tho.

Let's see... Starting with Cherry on the ground, needing to be taken to the hospital - doesn't even line up with the recap we had last week, where he supposedly already was there. (I'm still surprised that one can literally just whack their opponent in the middle of a race and nobody gives a damn like it's perfectly normal, wtf?) Then suddenly SHADOW's put in a hospital as well, because... Reki needed to be thrown in against ADAM? Feels a little lazy to me, not gonna lie, not only the fact itself that he's just taken out of the picture by "plot twist", but also the way it's handled, by sending him to hospital as well. And then after ADAM practically beat Cherry up, followed by whatshisface beating SHADOW up (srsly, who even was that guy again?), we also have - Reki getting beaten up? I mean. How many times can you use the same elements in such quick succession?

And then after Reki gets beaten up, he also gets hit by a car.... Buuuuuuuuuut don't worry, it was just Tadashi for some reason, and he wasn't going fast anyway, he's more concerned about Reki turning it into some sort of publicity stunt? I don't even think he knows who Tadashi is, so why would he? That makes no sense. But hey, having him taken to a love hotel served as a laugh for all, I'm sure. (Was that a joke or did Tadashi seriously expect a 17yo to have already been to such a place? Food for thought.)

And then - insert drumroll please - there's the resolution between the two idiot protagonists. Apparently, the lesson was only meant to be that skating is fun. In a broader sense, I guess, that it should be fun, that all sports should be fun, above all else, whatever your goals are with it. And that's the renga ship sinking to the bottom of this anime, I suppose, just as I expected them not to dare to really go there. Still sad and disappointing and somewhat deflated my enthusiasm for the series. Friendship's nice and all, but I've seen so many instances of it, especially this genre, that it's just not a factor at all at this point.

PS: Special mention to poor Miya who's practically just caught up in the world of the big boys and nobody's even sure where he's going or what he's doing...

I have a bit of mixed feelings with how the story played out, but ultimately I still really enjoyed the episode. The trope of "*insert sport here* is fun!" to solve arguments is overused, but honestly I really couldn't have imagined it any other way since that's truly the essence of what it means to be passionate about a sport. That's what I love about a lot of sports anime. The simplicity, vibrating passion, infectious energy, and love all the characters have for a particular sport always makes me smile.

Langa and Reki making up was cute (the blushes though!) and I'm just happy it didn't drag on until the very last episode or something. The love hotel was a bit unnecessary, but I guess it's cause that's the best place for privacy and anonymity? Lol. That totally threw me off since it's been a while since I've seen a love hotel in an anime. Anyways, looking forward to see how the impending beef between Reki vs. Adam will play out!

Tadashi... Of all the places to take the injured teenager you almost ran over...

That reconciliation really stretched the puppy-eyed bromance, but it was cute. Adam & Tadashi are the ones I'm keeping an eye on, but maybe by the end of this Reki and Langa manage to teach those two grown men healthier ways to deal with That Tension.

i've been feeling bad for Langa but Miya suffered from the fractured friendship too :/

There is so much feels I don’t know what to say. Adam and Tadashi, damn it they were so cute as kids, SCREW ADAM’S FAMILY FOR RUINING THAT BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP AND LITERALLY TURNING ADAM INTO A SADISTIC ASS!!!!! Moving on- Reki and Langa *chef’s kiss* THEY ARE MARRIED YOU CAN’T CHANGE MY MIND THAT ENDING WAS BASICALLY A PROPOSAL ❤️❤️❤️

I don't know how many times I paused on this episode and took a minute to compose myself. EP10 was a rollercoaster ride, so much angst. I am in a total euphoria right now due to Langa and Reki reunion. Ah the wait for this episode was worth it.

Also can someone please put Adam in jail real fast. I understand that guy watching Langa during the S races, but seriously creeping around their personal lives is a big NO.

All things aside, lol what was with all the crazy accidents throughout this episode.

Reki has finally gotten out of his slump, and he and Langa have admitted their love for each other. I was kinda hoping that they'd kiss, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they wouldn't go that far, lol.

It took Reki 4 episodes to get over a problem that should have only taken 1 episode.

He has never been a prodigy or really been about being the best skater, so this whole inferiority complex never made a lot of sense to begin with. For him to get over his whole “woe-is-me” period by realizing that he skates because he loves doing it felt unsatisfying because that was obvious.

That being said, the way they got him to realize it was done well enough (but why the hell did the secretary take an unconscious Reki to a love hotel to settle instead of just placing him in the car?). The reunion with Langa was corny and really yaoi bait-y, but enjoyable enough.

you're making it sound as if he was upset for a long time in the story when most of the things following his fight with langa happened the same day? what do you mean it should have only taken 1 episode lol

While it may not have been long in terms of story time, it was dragged out for 4 episodes (in the area of 1/3rd of the entire series). Spending that amount of time on an internal conflict isn’t inherently bad, but this conflict was so forced and wasn’t true to Reki’s character to begin with.

I say it should have taken only 1 episode because the conflict never even developed over those 4 episodes. It was just Reki feeling sad for himself because Langa was better, even though Reki has never been the type to only focus on winning races.

It should’ve only taken 1 episode to resolve this from a writing perspective because dragging out this conflict was a bad decision that negatively affected the quality of the anime. I feel I am not alone in saying that.

Well, glad seeing Leki realized something important through his agonizing. No need to shit about that, just chill, and have fun. Because its the only thing that can fired up your motivation. A bit too much expected, and very predictable with the flow of their relations, tbh. But well, i find it pretty good enough to give a little spark of drama through the entire series. Because why not?

I mean, look at Adam, desperately jealous seeing his Eve had a good tense there. While Shadow got unlucky, because some random jealous skater took the whole agonizing into a the real life vandalism. Rip for him, and Miya too who lost off screen against the Capman. The whole drama about him and his master, Adam was still uncleared, and the master ready to took another victim right in front of them. I hope he could get another clearance too the next week by taking over what Adam thought this episode.

Lets see how its flow....

Love how the butler dude just casually beats miya, just not giving too much thought to it and instead thinking about something else. Also love that the best friends are back together again. I do think reki was being a bit petty by shunning langa just because he was better than him.

Wow. Tadashi & Reki in a love hotel. A scene we never knew we needed L O L

More back story on Tadashi & Adam. Tadashi only wants the best for his master. It’s a shame Adam treats him like a dog. What a world class dick! Protect Tadashi at all costs!!

Reki skating back to Langa. How cinematic♡

I’m so glad they have finally made up! It was hard seeing Reki avoiding Langa so much & in pain whenever he saw Langa, when they used to enjoy their time together doing something they both loved. Glad that’s behind them now. Langa also coming to the realisation that he only enjoys the sport with someone he loves. I’m glad Reki will stop looking down on himself from here on. These boys are too precious!

Pretty good episode! Pack your bags bois, it's over, we got the title drop lmao. Well, not exactly the title, but now we know why the show is called Sk8 Infinity. Good to see Reki smiling again, nothing like a good ol love hotel can fix. Pretty hilarious how Tadashi was popping out of nowhere behind Reki lmao.

Feel bad for Miya though, lost to Tadashi and then got shoved aside by Reki, justice for Miya! Poor Shadow too, the moment Tadashi informed Ainosuke about Shadow I knew Reki was going to replace him. Let's fucking go, would be pretty wild if Reki was able to defeat ADAM and then we get Reki vs Langa for the finals, that'd be awesome. Looking forward to the next episode.

That talk at the end there was a whole ass proposal lmao, can't tell me otherwise.

I think Reki vs. Snake should happen. They are both the "weaker" ones in their friendly relationships with Langa/Adam. (Though Snake probably is stronger at skating. But weaker because of his social status.)

Reki didn't recognize Tadashi was Snake. And they both think skating is fun. And they need more conversation/interaction about this.

Though for Tadashi the reason to skate in the tournament only is to make Adam stop skating. (Cause he wants Adam to have another hobby he can admit to openly - while working as politician. The actually better solution would be to make him work as politician where the family is causing a lot of pressure.)

If there was a race for 3rd place ... it would be fun. (With Snake and Reki as losers of the semi-finals.) Langa probably would be better to teach Adam how to have fun (in the finale) when Snake is too focust on just beating him to make him stop skating.

I really did enjoy the episode! Reki needed that screen time to be able to understand how he was feeling and to realize how much he loved skating with Langa.
I think that the "Love hotel" scene was not only funny but it helped Tadashi get to know Reki and his ideals, really want Tadashi to help Reki get a new style for skating!!! Even the guy at the shop told something similar to Reki: "we all have our own style for skating".

It's only two episodes left so maybe Tadashi won't be able to teach Reki enough but I hope he manages to beat ADAM, of all the characters I think Reki is the one that should do it, since he's the one that knows best how skating is for fun and also to get our final beef Reki and Langa! you can't lose twice to that creep!

The make up was suuper cute!! really in love with that part!! <3 Langa is clearly in love with Reki but because the series can't make them canon, they stay with the whole bromance stuff...sad to be honest, there's nothing wrong with they being in love with each other. But at the same time I do understand that most sports anime are not demographically "shonen-ai" so it's not as if they could do that out of the blue.

The only part I didn't like was that Shadow was beaten our of nowhere, I mean he could have lost in another way, but by a random dude?

And next episode is definitely ADAM vs Reki (King vs Nobody) and if Reki doesn't win this is gonna be a pain! Like come on! Reki can skate pretty well, he just needs a push!

reki telling langa "I feel the same way (about how skating w him makes his heart dokidokisuru)" pretty much makes lanreki canon. I don't make the rules. that's just how it is. also reki growth woo

So I guess Reki just needed to talk about skating with someone for him to realize his mistakes? A little lazy to be honest, but we've got to move the plot forward somehow. I was actually hoping that Adam's servant was going to teach Reki some new tricks.

I'm glad that Reki fought back against the shop owner's logic about just settling for being less than others. The idea that some are just born better than others, and that no amount of hard work, effort, and determination can change that. That's the logic of a coward. Reki shouldn't have to regulate himself to support or a teacher just because Langa has some skills. Reki should continue to work hard and fight his hardest so he can achieve his goal of skating along side Langa on equal footing. That's clearly the whole point of his character arc.

It appears that thanks to the sort of asspull stunt that got Shadow hurt, Adam now has Reki in his sights for the consolation match. My question is, will this be the redemption Reki has been looking for? I think it would be almost poetic for Reki to comeback by defeating Adam.

I'm so happy that renga is back and made up but honestly I feel like it was too rushed like... oh he's mad and frustrated he's not a "good match" with langa and then all of the sudden oop nevermind skating is fun! Like what?? I was expecting some kind of redemption arc for reki where he used all that time alone to majorly improve his skills and then comes back and blows everybody out of the water and then makes up with langa but ig not... (who knows maybe in the next season?) It just felt like that whole conflict was so pointless and amounted to nothing :/

Good thing that Reki himself went and mended up his friendship with Langa.

It was so heartwarming to see Reki say the same thing he said to Langa to Tadashi.

That Love Hotel scene was funny, Reki's reaction XD

Tadashi's motive about winning and taking Skateboarding away from Adam is not right. Adam really likes skateboarding and Tadashi has no right to take it away from him. I get that his personality is really annoying but then again it was caused by a trauma which I hope Adam realizes and gets over it at the end. But it looks like Tadashi realized something after hearing what Reki said so I hope everything ends well.

Considering he had been skating for a while and introduced Langa into the sports, Langa was this very inexperienced novice, but eventually learned almost every trick in the book because of his snowboard experience from 15 years back. Reki compared himself with the better skaters (Miya, Cherry, JOE, Langa) and thought of himself as the worthless one, so it did make sense he had this inferiority complex. He knew he wouldn't reach the same level as them and since Langa just mastered skateboarding in a short while, of course he would feel like that. It took him years of practice while for Langa, it only took few months.

I can understand how Reki feels because I sometimes get that inferiority complex without showing to others.

And it's nothing wrong for Reki to have those feelings, he never aims to win, he aims to have fun, but you can't exactly miss that type of flaw within him. It made him feel relatable to a certain point.

I agree with you that it is reasonable that he would start to feel inferior after getting destroyed by ADAM and easily surpassed by Langa. In fact, I was happy when they first started to address that 4 episodes ago.

However, my problem was with how long it took Reki to overcome that complex. While he always wanted to win in races, that wasn’t the only thing that he looked forward to in skating. He took the time to teach Langa skating because he wanted thim to experience how fun it is instead of just focusing on beating the rivals he had.

A person like that would never take so long to get over those feelings, nor would they be so rude to the friend that surpassed them.

so if you saw my thoughts on episode 9, you probably know that I had a lot of anxiety about the direction of the series (and having to wait another week thanks to that recap episode didn't help) but thankfully after this episode, I am enjoying it again.

I am so glad to see Reki back to his old self, friends with Langa, and smiling again. I have high hopes for the last 2 episodes and a potential season 2. (or even an OVA which is more of just the characters having fun!)

Here's hoping Reki kicks Adam's ass next, now that would make the comeback even better!

Feels like character bonds in this show is pretty important.

Only for the main MCs and maybe the villan because we didn't get to see how badly wasted Shadow got, nor much about Cherry after Adam blasted him, F' those dudes, they are now extras.

RIP SHADOW's remaining relevance as a character. Seriously, the dude got hit in the head with a bat simply because the plot demanded Reki to skate against ADAM one more time.

So-so episode overall. First half was absurdly more angsty that necessary but at least, the drama between Reki and Langa was solved in the end with the good old confession disguised as "let's skate together to infinity, bro!".

As for ADAM, the dude sure looks more and more like a sexual predator with each passing episode, huh?
