please donate to the official kyoani fundraiser. we need to help kyoani… kyoani has always been a studio that has stood out, because every series kyoani produced was made with love. kyoani was always known for its polish... no other studio could achieve that kyoani quality. with anime such as k-on!, lucky star, clannad, a silent voice, kobayashi's dragon maid, nichijou. free!, air, haruhi series, violet evergarden, chuunibyou... the list goes on... every anime has somehow made a impact on the anime community, each in a different way.

Please help kyoto animation heal. Donate.

While it is good to not dwell on negativity and bad times, I sincerely hope no one involved with this community or industry forgets this incident until we really are moving forward again. There are already signs of it fading away, but I really hope it doesn't and we continue to maintain support.

They were responsible for making my absolute favorite anime of all time, Clannad After Story. It changed me for the better, and I cannot thank KyoAni enough for that. I only wish for everybody involved to heal soon.

Toyota Moe (Inami Sakura | Kyokai no Kanata, Kawashima Sapphire | Hibike! Euphonium) Blog: Tribute to KyoAni

Toyota Moe's Tribute to KyoAni is especially heartbreaking as she was given her professional debut by the studio. And she shared some fond memories of the lovely people who worked there. They were Passionate. Warm. And Kind. And they would share their miso soup. Everyday. Like any warm and tightly bond family.

Read the blog entry of Toyota Moe and it made me teary eyed. Such a sweet and sad entry. It only confirms what I have always thought of KyoAni. They are what they preach. Any news on the injured and how they are doing? Have been people moved out of critical?

There's not been any news. Japanese society is very reserved when it comes to the deceased or people who are hospitalized. I don't think we will hear much details unless the families of the deceased or the injured themselves share.

I am absolutely fine with that. Give them time to heal (not just physically but also psychologically) but it is still frustrating since we have no clue who exactly was lost in the fire and there were so many conflicting messages regarding who was dead, badly hurt or mainly suffered smoke inhalation. There have been reports of people coming out of the building and being on fire 😰

To think that it would take one man and his insanity to almost destroy everything they have crafted (and were crafting) all these wonderful people, really wrings me both on the inside and the outside. Let us hope that KyoAni will rise from its ashes and that such destructive behaviors will never happen.

it's been 5 days and i'm still in shock over what happened... kyoani has been an incredible influence on my life ever since i started watching anime. from k-on, chuunibyou, and nichijou, to violet evergarden, hibike euphonium, dragon maid, and koe no katachi, they've made me smile, tear up, laugh, and cry so many times throughout my life. i hope that those who are dead rest in peace and that the families affected and the company can recover.

Oof a lot of the anime I grew up with was made by them
"among monsters and humans, there are only two types.
Those who undergo suffering and spread it to others. And those who undergo suffering and avoid giving it to others." -Alice
“Beauty is no quality in things themselves: It exists merely in the mind which contemplates them; and each mind perceives a different beauty.” David Hume
“Evil is created when someone gives up on someone else. It appears when everyone gives up on someone as a lost cause and removes their path to salvation. Once they are cut off from everyone else, they become evil.” -Othinus

Why would anybody do such a horrible thing ? After all the hardwork of making people smile because of their artworks and awesome series, they're doing god's work and now this is what they got ?

We truly don't deserve you KyoAni.

I'm a huge fan from Portugal and I hope everyone will be healed soon and the families of those who parted will be strong and proud! Stay strong Kyoto Animation and as always keep touching everyone's hearts! <3

I'm still so sad about it. The relation we all have with KyoAni is so strong because of their love in each production, I wish I could help the relatives, maybe just hold them tight...

In the end I just came to write here to purge my pain and express my compassion somehow, because I'm just a lonely guy who watched some of your animes KyoAni, who sometimes cried with the characters. I don't know what to say, I don't know if you'll ever read this, but thank you...but don't get me wrong, that's not a "Thank You" that means "goodbye", NO...Because we all know you will rebuild and rise like a true Phoenix. But a "thank you" only for gratitude for all we've already done and how much I love it!

And for my Otakus mates from here and from everybody from KyoAni...I, and I'm sure the whole community, want to be for you like "a Bridge over troubled water".

Thank You, Kyoto Animation!

@shanimebib, in case you haven’t come across this yet. Also, I hope you’ve been taking care of your mental health. I’ve seen aplenty of your posts in these threads and I hope this event isn’t stressing you out too much. A heartfelt and sincere request from many Japanese Health Specialists is to not indulge oneself into this too much if it’s taxing on your mind. I’m sorry if I seem like I’m meddling into your business here but I just wanted to get this across.

That Translation is ok, it gives the meaning. thank you for sharing that.

I have not time to say much but briefly in this and other events similar in Japan, yes we all feel as all do, sadness, deep sorrow, loss, but also respect and care for the people lost and surviving. it is hard to describe but hopefully that will help all who feel the same to see ...we are all together in this. And the hope for healing will lead ...above all else. Not anger or hate tho that is natural but to focus on support for KyoAni, staff and families...and to walk forward together.

Prayer of whatever kind is always welcome ...each will have to face their own grief and to honor and remember the wonderful people who have been lost will keep their work and their spirits alive.

thanks for all of the wonderful kind posts.

#PrayForKyoAni This studio really knows how to make a work touch one's heart. I wish those who we lost rest in peace and those who lost move on. Those who were injured recover soon and help all of us pull through. I hope those who were in the building no mental or physical damage was done. I hope the building will soon be reconstructed and no one quits so that KyoAni can become a place of hard-working people once more. I hope those of us who were attached to this place can be at ease. We love you, Kyoto Animation.

I simply a l w a y s l o v e d KyoAni's animation. Sincerely, I don't like other styles as well. Sometims I even drop animes because I think animaton is terrible (even if other doesn't).
The first time I watched Hibike! Euphonium, I was just enchanted. I love Violet Evergarden, Kyoukai no Kanata...
Oh man, exactly the best studio ever...
