We get to finally see the blonde haired kid in the intro and we see that Tanjirou`s training really paid off.

Fuq, from early pairings of characters, I've come straight to find that they're dead.
RIP to them, RIP to Makomo × Tanjirou... that's not happening.
Great episode though, I'm a fan of fire users but Tanjirou and his water has quite the elegance, especially its similarities to traditional east Asian art -thats going to be one highlight of this anime so far.

Hey look, another episode where the show treats its audience like a bunch of idiots and makes it so every single character has to spew a bunch of expositoring monologues so that we can understand what's going on. Why don't you SHOW us that instead. But I guess it's easier to cut corners and have the characters mouth flap about it in the driest way possible (which is a problem in pretty much all of this studio's works).

Oh and go figure the shounen MC would brute force his way through what's supposed to be a tough enemy in less than a episode while more skilled people like the pink haired ghost dude died almost immediately, of freakin' course...

I totally agree. At least the Fate/Stay Night game had the porn to justify its existence. None of the Ufotable's excruciatingly dull Fate adaptations have that and instead is more interested in featuring characters sitting around drinking wine discussing about what feels like an middle schooler's idea about Nietzsche and Kierkegaard.

The monologues and exposition are clearly there for people like you, otherwise how would you understand. Even with all that and you missed the point... Don't be ungrateful.

At last, episode that make me pump up! Great animation and great fight choreography!

The only things that bother me is the final exam feel a little retarded. Sending your recruit to die in a mountain seems counterproductive, i can understand it if all of the danger just animal, exposure, or weak demon but a strong demon that consistenly kill rookies? besides all that rookie better throw their life protecting civilian than throw their life for some stupid exam. Overall its a fun episode, hopefully the narative get better in the future.

I won't deny, but Tanjiro looked cooler with his hair long, but I understand why he trimmed it back down to normal, though.

The Final Selection is proving to be no walk in the park. Most of the other competitors that we saw briefly, also shown in the OP animation, look fearsome and intimidating. I'm sure that we'll see them in action eventually, but in the meantime, we get to see how Tanjiro gets on.

Thankfully, he's doing well. His water-based attacks when he struck down the two demons looked beautiful. However, he encountered a massive demon that was captured by Urokodaki 47 years ago and the demon has vowed to kill any of Urokodaki's disciples. Sadly, the demon has kept to that promise and has killed more than a dozen, including Sabito and Makomo.

The fight against that demon was animated brilliantly once more and the final attack from Tanjiro that sliced off the demon's head felt really satisfying. =)

Great episode once again. =3

Also, why do they test the new candidates sending them to survive and potentially fight against one of the toughest demons out there? Wouldn't it make more sense to make them fight against a general one? However, it's probably hard to captures demons alive, so they don't want to kill this one. And their methods were already proven to be quite harsh...

The guy Tanjirou save said that there not suppose to be any demon which live that long in this mountain. they only suppose to fight low level demon here. the Hand Demon probably smart enough to know he stand no chance against expirience hunter so he hide here and pick on the new recruit. He said he had been there for 47 years but only had eaten like 50 people, that like super low, about 1 person a year. The Hand Demon lay low, restrain from eating too much to avoid suspicious from the Demon Hunter Coup.

Ohh, I see. I missed this bit. I was thinking that probably candidates are just not told that there is a higher level demon in forest, that’s why this guy acted surprised. Thanks, that makes sense now!

Boy Ufo is doing this show so much justice, it's unbelievable. They've also solved some of the issues I had with the story manga wise in between episode 3 and 4 easily. They're making the story flow so much more fluidly for me it's like I'm experiencing Kimetsu no yaiba for the first time.

The music was amazing this episode, so were the fights and the breath of water animated looks amazing in this style, as promised by the OP. I couldn't stop yelling when he reached the final selection and I saw best boy lol. I'm sitting here getting so impatient for them to reach the other arcs, I literally can't breathe. Too good!

"zero animation"...

Welp, ufotable is actually well-known for not having any real movement.
They use a lot of effects (mostly lightning effects, as in Fate), and they don't really animate anything. It's kind of tricky as you only see the begining of a swing -> here goes sonicspeed movement > and now it's done. There's like zero animation mid-air.

These days they just do cut out scenes instead of actual movement.
Posting a gif, since people are blind, apparently:

The thing is, you don't really see what's happening on the screen.
It's even harder see a thing with some retarded lightning effects they love to use.

Anyway, this shit is kind of weak compared to animation from good studio, like Bones.
And you can expect some bad changes to the source material. God Eater was butchered. Tales of Zestiria was just awful.
Actually, I can't think of any good TV adaptation from ufotable. Not gonna complain about UBW, since that game was already shit.

Bro, be satisfied with what you received and stop bothering, although Bones has a good handling of the animation, but it will also reach a point where you will also need the same techniques used by Ufotable, because just think about looking for the excellent animation. . when it is known that the animators in Japan are overexploited and if Ufotable is looking for a way to make things easier without damaging them (although there are animes that have damaged it), what is the problem? because I only see you behind a screen talking about animations that you will not even do, while you wait in your house the next chapter, they have to spend hours drawing and creating the scenes for the animation, although I'm already going out of context, but what I want to tell you is that if the viewer liked it and cheated on them with the supposed "animation" (which I also noticed), why not let them enjoy it?

Even if they are _ahem_ dead, I really hope we still get to see them whispering onto our main protagonist. Very cool fight scenes and they absolutely nailed the mixed demon voice actor, what a terrible but fitting voice.

The sound effects are way too loud for me. Still, a very good episode.

So the water effects are just to make the attack cooler? Well that's disappointing, the OP made me think that he will learn some magic ability or something like that. I have no problem with normal sword attacks, but I have a problem when they try to do more than what it is. Is like those sports anime when in a certain moment the player looks like they are going Super Saiyan.

yeah, breath of water have water effects, breath of thunder have thunder effects and breath of flame have fire effects ecc, but thats more a thing to represent each breath style, like breath of water is elegant and sinuous as water, the thunder rapresent that the attacks are fast as thunder and flames that the attack make the wounds burn like fire,i think it's difficult to represent the difference between each style with no visual effects.

The series in history and development is a set of clichés typical of the Shonen.
example: annoying and screamer boy like Asta seeks revenge and starts training to be a brute man at the point of effort and pain. This has already been seen, but better (and not all compressed in a chapter which recap)

The salvable of all this is the production of Ufotable that both the direction and the environment is well done, but it seems a total waste because they could take a better story to use I would like to see an own version of the director as well as with the first anime de fullmetal alchemist (for me it is the best version) that took a course apart from the shonen style

But anyway this series in general doesn't particularly hype me up (and I don't like listening to Hanae Natsuki's voice either), yet every episode feels 10 min. or less and that's not an experience I have often with anime. Kudos for that.
