Worst E3 I ever watched. Though last year comes close... Games themselves aren't looking bad per se, but nothing this year truly excited me. No FFVIIR... Nomura said that he only showed screenshots for KH3 and FFVIIR early this year because trailers would "come later". KH3 got one (and supposedly gets another the next few days) but nothing for FFVIIR... disappointing.

The graphics were really good back in the day. The framerate and screen tearing was atrocious though. The PS3 remaster fixed those, but it's cool that we're getting a real remake. Such amazing art design deserves a pretty way of presenting them.
I just have no desire to replay it and to pay money for an exact copy of a game I've already beaten... innumerable times. I didn't see anything new. Which is probably a good thing. I wouldn't want a team best known for visually updating stuff to screw it up. But I'm over it.

Pretty weak E3 overall. I expected much more from sony. Monster Hunter is exiting but that's not even exclusive to sony. I didn't play shadow of the colossus so this remake is good for me.
Maybe nintendo will be amazing. You never know.

Sony had the best press conference BUT its still shite overall. this e3 was a disapointing mess.

Those spider-man qte n cutscenes....fuck me.....TOO MUCH! cut it the fuck down! web swinging looked slow n a little stiff. Graphics n animation tho?? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fkn next level shit!!!!

After that we got Shadow Of Colossus Remake. I hope its a 1:1 remake man

then we have Monster Hunter! Did NOT see that coming!

Thats it. the rest is meh, i mean Days Gone looks cool but its something we already know about

God Of War....I was interested before but now? man, it shouldnt be a god of war game. TOO much like The Last Of Us, TOO cinematic. This aint God Of War man, could had easily been a whole different game.

Sony where is the weeb games? goddamit sony, still if you look at it this way.

Shadow of the colossus Remake
Code Vein
Monster Hunter World
Evil Within 2
Metro Exodus
Anthem
Assassins creed Egypt?

Not a bad E3 at all right?

There's a lot of interesting new games.

Fuck this. What did they do to my GOW? New Monster Hunter looks cool, I like that they are doing something different. And the Spidey looks neat.

Now the question is why do we complain about remasters all the time and then go crazy when they announce a remake?

That aside, solid outing from Sony. Ubi would have won but everything I'm reading about Beyond Good and Evil 2 sucks so Sony takes the cake.

Now Nintendo better announce a new Metroid for Switch or they can go fuck themselves.

E3 this year is awful and generally lacking I had too much hype but they all made me disappointed.

The only games I'm interested in @ E3:
-Assassin's Creed Origins; I generally love the Assassin's series so I'm looking forward to this.
-God Of War; Never played it but god that was dope and the main character looks badass definitely got my attention with that.
-Detroit; Cinematic types of games usually never impress me but this one did it looks nice I enjoyed the graphics and the story is intriguing.
-Shadow of the Colossus; 10 seconds in and I'm already hooked the graphics were amazing.
-Beyond Good & Evil 2; I enjoyed the trailer I'm interested.
-Metro Exodus; this shit is lit.
-Wolfenstein II; I love this game so I'm excited for the second one.
-Uncharted The lost Legacy; bitch the minute I saw 2 female leads they already got my money.

Overall weak E3 I was expecting more and I wanted at least an exclusive from The Last of Us 2.

Overall, it is a pretty "meh" E3. Nothing groundbreaking at all. So far, the games I am really really excited for I can count on one hand. Everything else isn't necessarily bad but I feel they're pretty mediocre or straightforward, Spiderman definitely seems to be like this.

PC Gaming Show didn't fare much better but I have been looking for an excuse to replay XCOM 2 for a while. Looks like I got it.

You basically said the reason. Remasters are just an increase in resolution, slightly better textures, and if lucky, a framerate boost. A remake requires more effort and a good one can warrant a repurchase. That SotC Remake looks outstanding, ridiculously better than the original game. It's clearly being made by a new engine too.

Also, I personally have no issues with a remaster if it's for a first party game. There's a lot of people that are new to Playstation that haven't played the older exclusives, so a remaster is useful for them. A remake, however, appeals to not only newcomers, but fans too.

bro, did you not watch GoW's new trailer - the age of hack and slash is over; it's the age of adult-y, serious, and artistic gaming. Capcom's also seriously retarded when it comes to revitalizing beloved IPs.

Devil may cry is dead...........

God of the Last of Us War 4. Smh. I don't mind artsy games like Ico or SOTC but there is a place for it. Nobody gave a fuck about Kratos as a character, they just wanted him to rip off heads. This is BS. Kratos should have been neutered.

They suck ass. I don't have a problem with MonHun but this was Capcom's time to regain the trust of the public after the SFV fiasco.

That Monster Hunter may not be any good, it might be tweaked for Western audiences making the game subpar compared to the Nintendo handheld/hybrid console versions.

it's a myriad of things annoying me.
they teased the fuck about japanese devs(s) making a big return to sony.
have 3 games that all have the same type of direction as each other.
underwhelming announcements almost EVERY single e3 since we started this gen.
sony's conference just further drove the point on how diminished this gen has been. by this point previous gen we had dozens of good games and new ips.
it's taken microsoft and sony 4 years to build up a promising library, if you can even call that promising.
i just expected a lot more from sony, and honestly we didn't get even a fraction of that.

It seems that the stage is now set for Nintendo, if they announce a new Metroid and an unexpected surprise then they'll win e3 for me. Sony's was the best so far, mainly because of Detroit but the Shadow of Colossus remake didn't hit nearly as hard as the FF7 remake or even the Shenmue 3 announcement and I never even played the latter.

There's no guarantee that we'll see more SMTV. Last year, Nintendo only showed two games at E3 (Zelda and Pokemon), and they could've showed more. This year, I feel like they'll just show in-depth gameplay for a couple of games (probably Mario Odyssey and maybe Xenoblade 2 and Fire Emblem).

I don't think one game is enough to call a conference a win. It's not like they'll get people to buy the console with just one game. I doubt they'll spend too much time talking about SMTV. It's not produced by Nintendo and only Atlus, so Nintendo would only profit from hardware sale boosts from that game. And tbh, SMT has small fanbase, so it's not like as if the game will give a big boost towards Switch sales.

Lol, people getting "mad" at e3. There's more games coming out and games that I still have yet to play than I can every hope to actually get to.

And people need to realize that e3 isn't what it used to be. Games used to be revealed either in game mags or e3. Now with the internet and streaming there are more events and sites that we all get news from so devs have to spread their games out across the events instead of loading them at e3. Youtube and gaming websites allow devs to release trailers and pr's for games instead of waiting for an event or having to put the game trailers and gameplay on a site like gt.com (RIP).

And what's with all of the people whining about not hearing about games that haven't even been confirmed to be even in development yet. Bloodborne 2? A new fromsoft game? Jesus, DS3 just got released last year, give 'em a break, they also said no bloodborne 2. DMC 5? As much as I would love that, it would probably be a TGS thing if it is happening (see, another event, gotta keep things spread even or you get called "lacking" and "having no games")

I will admit all of this online multiplayer crap is stupid af.

Overall this was a weird E3, kind of low key overall. Not a good year for new IPs. No interest in watching the Nintendo Direct, nothing they can offer will make me buy a Switch.

Ubisoft: Nothing at all interests me. No Man's Skylanders, Mario's Raving Rabbids, The Crew 2, Black Flag Ship Combat, Beyond Multiplayer & Evil... all not interesting. I like Assassin's Creed and what they're doing with the combat and progression so I'll get that, nothing else. The new South Park looks like shit. 5/10, same as EB

Sony: Was definitely a weaker presser than normal. Shadow of the Colossus & Monster Hunter World look amazing. Disappointed that the only Sony first party game for the last quarter of the year is Knack 2, though I do look forward to playing that. MvCInfinite shouldn't have been in the presser and the Spider-man demo was too long, they could have easily fit in a few other things. 7.5/10, no 2015-2016

The newly announced games that interest me are:
Metro: Exodus
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
The Evil Within 2
Monster Hunter World
Shadow of the Colossus
Assassin's Creed: Origins
Dishonored: The Death of the Outsider
Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon
Ori and the Will of the Wisp
Life Is Strange: Before the Storm

I only played their MGS remasters, which were in some ways worse than the originals. The MGS3 remaster was missing some of the extras from the second disc of Subsistence and Snake's nightmare, along with the conversation he has with Sigint about shit afterwards. There's also no Snake vs. Ape, which is understandable at least for the Xbox version, since Ape Escape is a Sony series.

The worst thing they did is add their own credits to the end credits. The ending of the original was perfect. There was the final cutscene with the "Debriefing" theme, followed by "Way to Fall" and then the MGS theme. Because of the longer crawl with Bluepoint's credits, the HD version repeats "Debriefing" after "Way to Fall." When films are remastered, they don't do this. The people restoring the film admit that they didn't have anything to do with its creation. At most, they will attach their credits silently before the beginning or after the real credits. Bluepoint's credits should have been featured in a menu. I also don't see why they made us sit through their splash screens every time you booted up one of the games. There should have been one splash screen when you start the disc and then nothing when you launch the games inside.

The games should have been ordered by release on the menu, not by the timeline. It makes no sense to play the games chronologically.

Also, MGS2 is apparently missing some effects. I don't have a PS3 anymore, so I can't confirm.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=32667976&postcount=2804

Also, the default camera in MGS3 should be the fixed one, not the rotational one. The areas were designed for a fixed camera. Koji Pro screwed that up in Subsistence and Bluepoint carried it over to the HD version.

The conference for Sony was more on the disappointing side than just plain bad. Mainly due to how high they set the bar last year. Maybe they should announce games to a closer date to when they are actually being released? Death Stranding would have been fine announced here and not last year since it won't be out for a while still. Would've bumped people's thoughts of the conference up more.

Also sad to not see anything from FromSoft. There's always PSX though...

The company is bluepoint and they're really, really great at remasters that outdo the originals in every way.

Who cares. The FPS boost, higher resolution, and better anti-aliasing makes it the objectively best port of the Metal Gear Solid games and the definitive means of experiencing MGS. Getting upset over people adding credits to a project they worked on is borderline autistic and just because the HD port doesn't have effects or copyrighted easter eggs that hardly add anything does not suddenly make it worse than the original by any means.

Bluepoint Games have shown that they can port games with no issues as well as improve them as evidenced by the MGS Legacy Collection, the Drake collection, and Gravity Rush Remastered. I have high confidence in them doing a masterful job in remaking Shadow of the Colossus.

I think the Shadow of the Colossus remake is more unnecessary than dumb. I highly doubt the story or gameplay would change that much. However, if fans are truly that happy with the announcement, then sure. Good for the devs then.

Probably have to wait for next year's E3 before anyone does something spectacular again. At least, I know now that I wouldn't be spending that much money on games over the next few months or maybe even a year.
