Or when someone uses some massive explosive move on someone else, and as the smoke or dust or whatever is still covering the target of said explosive move, the user just says something along the lines of, "That takes care of that." or something. When this happens you can be 90% sure they haven't been defeated yet. The smoke/dust slowly fades away and as it is doing that you can begin to see the silhouette of the target, still standing, and the user is just so shocked that his or her ultimate move had no effect. |

The power of friendship is used a lot! Usually to wrap up final sequences or to explain why your completely spineless useless main protagonist can somehow manage to win by willpower. At least One Piece made it slightly believable in the portion where Luffy wanted to save his brother from an execution, not like Naruto where Naruto is able to friendship punch everyone :P Then again, One Piece had ridiculous power-ups just like Bleach and everything! I've always thought if they removed it, it would replaced by "SCREW YOU" gurren lagann powers xD |
