| Just finished "End of Watch" - it was great. The atmosphere is similar to the one in "Sicario". After watching it I respect Jake Gyllenhaal even more and it pisses me off that he didn't get enough recognition for "Nightcrawler". Now I need to watch "Southpaw". |

| With all the hype of Star Wars i've decided to watch the entire saga for the first time (yeah i've never watched it) so yesterday I saw Star Wars Episode lV: A new hope, for a 1977 movie the special effects were cool and still watchable now day, i can give them that, still I found the movie to be quite plain, the battles weren't even that exciting and the characters felt bland...I only could empathyze with R2D2 lol Still I'll watch the rest and see if it gets better. |

The first Star Wars and Return of the Jedi have no business being hailed as some of the greatest movies of all time, they're not even close quality-wise. The Empire Strikes Back is another story, though. Still, Han Solo's introduction is one of my favorite movie scenes. |

| watched gozu today, drag me to hell last night. gozu was awesome. drag me to hell was a horror movie but to me the most memorable scene was the main character having a prolonged fight with an 80 year old gypsy slamming her into the dashboard and knocking her dentures made in the mold of rotting teeth out |

| Mockingjay Part 2 It's been a while since I watched on theaters but it has become a tradition for us (me & my friends) to watch The Hunger Games every year so even if it's busy I already saved the date. Though I still prefer the games than the rebellion and though I already know what will happen (since I've read the trilogy) I wasn't disappointed. I'm actually quite satisfied with how the movie turned out. Some random thoughts and spoilers: That time when they were being chased by human-like creatures, I immediately remebered Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood lol Right after Finnick died, every time his name was mentioned or his face is shown , I just go "Finnick is dead :'(" .One of the reasons I wanted to watch the last movie is because I wanted to see that scene when they have their children already. Ahhh...so cute haha |

| Almost Famous(2000) The golden age of music(in my opinion) depicted in the golden age of cinema(Again, in my opinion). 'Nuff said. I think Roger Ebert said it best really : "Oh, what a lovely film. I was almost hugging myself while I watched it." As someone who grew up in the first decade of the 00's I never really knew much about 70's culture(other than listening to some music and everyone making fun of hippies in pop culture). 80's and 90's sure, since children of that decade love talking up their generation so much. But after seeing this movie? What an interesting time. Also, this is one of, if not the realest movie I've ever seen. And definitely one of the most beautiful. 10/10 Plus, two of my new favorite all-time film scenes. The fact that this scene took place after a crazy sequence, where every character was just drained.. man, it's just great filmmaking. And the other one is the plane scene in the final act. I won't spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet, but I don't think I've ever seen such a great blend of comedy and powerful character moments in one scene. If you want inspiration to just go out there, follow your passions and dreams, and just live your life, even if you're a socially awkward person with no self-confidence.. just watch this movie. It's hands down the best coming of age movie I've ever seen in my life. |

| When people use the term "Golden Age" historically they mean the 1920s to the 1970s, but some people use it conversationally to mean whenever they think the best movies are coming out. I prefer not to use it the second way because there are a lot of decades with an equal number of great movies. They're just different depending on the decade. |

Nothing against them, they're just not my thing. I wouldn't call myself a film buff or anything just because of that, but I really do appreciate the art aspect of filmmaking and I am an enthusiast of movies. My favorite period of American filmmaking is the 1970s-present day. Yes, the 00's is my favorite of these decades so far, why is it so weird for you? Hell, there's a book about it coming out, from Chris Stuckmann one of my personal favorite modern critics/Youtube reviewers. You should check it out when it comes out. Ok, why not, let's include it. We're getting great summer blockbusters and great art house gems each year, it's definitely a great period. So unless something seriously wrong happens in the film industry soon I think we're still going strong in a cinematic golden age. If you can't see that, that's fine. I can understand why someone would be fan of really older films more. |

| The Drop, eh, an okay movie I guess, great acting by James Gandolfini and Tom Hardy, interesting story, but nothing new. The Pianist, one hell of an acting by Andrien Brody there and the horrors that they went through and the struggle for survival by whatever means necessary; on top of all this, not being able to do anything, the feel of helplessness is portrayed quite well. Beasts of No Nation, also quite a powerful movie, but I think it would've been better if it was done in their native language, since some words were being put for the sake of being "cool" and I felt were unnecessary, or might have been uttered if it were in their language, but, nonetheless, an exceptional movie and the portrayal of war through the eyes of what seems to be an 10-13 year old boy. Abraham Attah delivered quite the acting for a kid, since rarely do we see something like that in movies or shows, and of course good performance by Idris Elba. The Sunset Limited[rewatch], no matter how many times I rewatch this movie, I seem to always enjoy their philosophical debate about being a believer and non-believer, tho, it's important to note that the movie never takes sides and force what's right or wrong. |

| watched the lil wayne documentary earlier today. it was interesting, mostly because of how uncooperative he was with the crew once filming was underway, but also because it was shot just before and during the carter 3's release and there's a lot going on. seeing his songwriting methods and some of the weirder conversations he has are easily the most interesting parts, his past is surprisingly dark. the fact he's constantly shutting down the camera crew or reticent or straight up lying makes the documentary mostly enigmatic though. still fun |

| How to fix the review section, detailed here The average reader (HS level) reads at about 200 WPM. So a 500-800 word review should take 3-5 minutes to read. That's an acceptable length for something you're interested in spending 25 minutes to 4.5 hours of your life watching. Oh, and ANN requires any and all reviews to be 800-1200 words, no matter the length of the show. |

| Star Wars: The Force Awakens- It was good & highly entertaining but not sure it lived up to the hype. I mean there's so much hype in it that it had to be a masterpiece for it to live up to the hype but it wasn't. Also I had my doubts on the black dude being the new male lead but he turned out pretty good & the female lead was great, she kinda reminds me of Keira Knightley.
