For too long, the childhood friend has been the loser in this rat race we call love! Well I implore you to suggest animes and manga where the CHILDHOOD FRIEND is VICTORIOUS! Preferably male mc, but not requirement. Shoujo is fine, but would like to see some from the other categories (shounen, seinen, josei) I like variety. |

I think this was the case in Cross Game. Tamako Market also has this. If you don't mind some spoilers: There's also Hanasaku Iroha. The MC's childhood friend confesses to her at the beginning. She spends a good portion of the show sorting out her feelings for him and eventually likes him back. |

my eyes lit up when i saw this post,, i feel you op. pretty sure its not exactly what you're looking for, but you could watch the anime but not manga for elfen lied. The mc kisses his childhood friend towards the end even though his cousin was into him myself/yourself is another one, but there ends up being no real rival, though it looks like there is one for a while so im not sure you can she was victorious over anyone koi to senkyo to chocolate is probably the closest thing to what i think you're looking for that ive seen anyway, i cant think of anymore, its rough out there for childhood friends. i guess kanon from 2006, but in that one there basically all his childhood friends, 3 of them plus one cousin, only one new girl in his life. |

Even if the camera moves away from them, at least there's an implied kiss, you know? |

XD Well obviously not Koitabi since it's 3 separate couples, but I want to see more where the childhood friend wins. XD |

Boku wa tomodachi ga sukunai could potentially be one I have not read the manga so I don't know how it ends. But in the two seasons that are out, it hints there could be something between the two childhood friends. Waiting on a possible 3rd season to find out |

I think he rejects Yozura because he likes Sena, the other female lead. Don't get me wrong, I like both girls and would be okay if he ended up with either of them, but again childhood friends ALWAYS LOSE. XD |

Kannazuki no Miko (Uh, its other categories are yuri and mecha, if that's enough variety for ya) Harmony (Includes Yuri, and uh, tragedy Special A Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within Yuu☆Yuu☆Hakusho (It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure this show later kinda drops the Romance and just barrels down the shoujo path) Hundred (for the first two episodes or so, before it turns into a harem) |

By the way, when I said Megane na Kanojo has 2 of what you're looking for, I meant this request. I remembered D.C.: Da Capo. but not as childhood friends. (The 2 main girls are: 1 cousin and 1 adopted sister. If you're interested). I didn't watch it yet so I don't know for the rest. (only the 1st episode) |

Childhood friends are way overrated. Usually they lose because they don't do anything. Only girl who won the waiting game was in Shigatsu and it only happed because HA I'M NOT SPOILING.
