More anime/manga like Realist Hero (i.e., "Grats, you're in charge now")

Specifically, I'm looking for stories where someone gets influence-power dropped in their lap and... the story actively explores them using it, for better or worse. Isekai runs the idea sometimes (Log Horizon comes to mind, much as Realist Hero did), but I don't mind if options are isekai or not.

I will emphasize that I'm looking for public, political power being the big thing. Magic can apply, but isn't necessary. Death Note or Code Geass, for example, could arguably fit the vaguest vibe, but are more covert (for a stretched quality of the word) and mind-gamey than what I'm looking for.

I'd like some more stories where someone gets a station of political (or religious, I suppose) power thrust upon them and the consequences of that appointment provide a significant amount of the story's conflict.
