Heartbreaking episode with the people losing their home, and also showing the humanity of soldiers who still have to fight one another. It's a tough world.

Ok episode, my only complain is that they did not realize that the mobile suit was inside when it was too obvious. But I liked that they try to make Zeon's side look like good people. I don't feel bad for the woman and those refugees at the end, they put everyone at risk.

I see I am not alone with this being my favorite episode by a long shot (so far). Seeing the Zeon escorts wave to the boy was already enough to make my eyes watery, it was as others have stated, a truly humanizing moment. Any of the men that have been slaughtered in this war could have been them, and that point was made clear. The irony is the fact that the escorts wanted to help the boy and his mother forced even further violence as once Amuro and the men spotted each other, one was going to go down. Even kindness spawned violence in this world and seeing Amuro shoot them made me grimace. That's called effective as hell.

But to take a step back, the plan was also something I could completely follow along with and had me on the edge of my seat. Heavy breathing as I waited to see if everything went as planned and a panic when it started to fall apart, excitement when it all came together again. And that's not even talking about me fearing for Kai's life and celebrating his triumph. Really good stuff. This is the episode which had me most emotionally invested and most technically interested.

I will say having the message spelt out felt uncomfortably on the nose but I get why.

This was a fantastic episode. A nice back-handed tactic by the federation, humanity from the Zeon side, some Kai action... And I felt emotionally invested too, since I wanted none of the characterized people to die. I liked the line about every dead soldier leaving behind another widow, too.

Nice to see that Garma will now get into the action himself after all the L's he collected.

Definitely some interesting dynamics between Char and Garma. Looks like Garma's about to have a stroke after defeat.

goated episode. I hope Amuro comes to realize that the reason there are no more St Anges is bc of people like him. He probably will considering how competently this has been written, but who knows

damn this episode got real good. kai gets to show off his memetic gundam pushin skills lol

also damn saint agnes reveal

that scene is purely dreadfully sad

ugh the next episode preview is hooking me in. must resist..

char shows off his wits once again as a villain so much continuously that i keep forgetting to remark on it as much as I should. He is so clever and yet his cleverness is something i keep getting used to easily.

That gundam shine finally has some realistic implications in war. not something any sniper wants of course, their worst nightmare.

I'd say this is the definitive gundam episode that shows the harsh realities of war. there is not any fight between good and evil, no great accomplishments, just war. pure senseless violence which ultimately ends in tragedy.

I keep coming back to this line

it is so impactfully narrated.

Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate.

I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was bound to lead me to a slow death.

Kai proves valuable. Gundam is broken af. I like how the show doesn't shy away from showing the really messy side of war. :3

Oh no, now since Kai got a couple of blast-downs by using up all the ammo in his cannons in a panic-spam, the edgelord-lovers in the comments are gonna be squealing over how awesome he is even though he's still a cocky dirtbag negative nancy who hasn't justified how unlikeable he is yet.

The comments about how White Base is somehow in the wrong now for trying to deceive an entire professional military base while drastically out-gunned and out-manned as an almost-completely-civilian-run ragtag team with two gundams vs. fleets of fighter jets and multiple zakus, while deep in enemy territory, is beyond me. The intelligent thing to do in this scenario is to engage in guerilla warfare to even the odds. Sun Tsu's Art of War. Not bushido-honor-coded shortsightedness, no one cares about that on a real pragmatic battlefield, as this episode demonstrates.

But everyone hyping up Char is indeed in the right. Char remains a likeable chad through and through.
