Again. Satella was the ''broke kid'' who saved his daughter. He explicitly mentioned another broke kid like him. When she came into the loot house, she had a flower on her chest (remember the kid giving it to her)
I had a feeling that it was her but it's nice to have confirmation on that even though I didn't need to know who it was to understand how time works

Okay this really helps. I understand what the previous comment was saying to me, now.

so there is this little problem, i couldn't watch the whole first episode cause the links were weird, so i was fucked up in the beginning, i mean so many people, so many deaths, and im last to know?? anyways, something weird happened, i mean guys, the supermarket guy helped him cause he helped him save his daughter?? but he havnt saved his daughter, he went back in time, so how come he saved his daughter? something seems off, it was either my subtitles or something was seriously off.

then the whole story changes obviously since i only got to the part where she whos him her power near the river and stuff and that's where i stopped watching, but something seem more off, i mean couldn't he just go back and to the place were he found the girl running away and stop her there.. and that's how animes work they dont like going the easy way... <-<

i wasnt really happy with this.

For some reason I found the whole situation hilarious.
Especially, each time he comes across the 3 thugs and the shop owner.
The idiot finally realised his current situation and that fact that Satella is an alias.
Took him long enough tho.

I liked it a lot! I don't think it's too slow-paced, especially considering it's a 25-episodes anime.
Not in love with the MC but he's a good boy. Reinhard though, instant crush. ♥
I'm really curious as to why it wasn't Elsa who showed up at the end, it means something in the timeline was changed!
Expecting an at least 7/10 anime here.

For some reason I can't really trust Reinhard. Guess it's cause the whole nice guy thing he has going on.

Wonder if Elsa's also going to also come into the loot house next episode, that'd really create some tension

Looking forward to the next episode. Glad I binge watched the first 1a/2b and ep 2 cause this is pretty interesting

Interesting to see what people expect/want to see. Next episode will be fire though, probably the best so far. I'm also glad the only real problem people have so far ( Subaru's denseness ) will disappear now.

I doesn't recommend binging once we are in the third arc. The stuff is probably to hard to take that in one go.

I liked the OP, had decent visuals, but I felt the beginning was lacking a lot of bass to complement the dark, murky, and foreboding background.

Also, I very much like the fact that Subaru managed to figure out and dissect what was going on with him in 3 tries, or a little over one episode. Most characters put in this situation wouldn't be able to figure out what's going on until the 4th episode, where a sage-like figure appears and explains what's going on. Instead, he managed to draw the same conclusion as the viewer in a little over one episode, demonstrating his intellect and proving he's not like most MCs.

Uhhhhhh so many people here babbling about the apple vendor remembering Subaru saving her kid and I was like WTF guys do you really know how to read subs for fcks sake read it carefully and use your brain at least to where the apple vendor is implying it to, there's a reason why there's a comma on that part of the dialogue, if you observe the episode really well, there's a flower beside Satella's chest at the end of the episode which implies that she's the 'broke kid' the apple vendor is implying to, this has been answered so many times can you at least read the whole forum before you type this bullcrap it's really annoying tbh

A bit amusing how most people have been criticizing Subaru because of not realizing his time-rest ability sooner when they're just as much dense for not realizing something simple.

I think everything would be better if he simply tried to prevent Felt from stealing that thing from Staella and they tried to explain to both of them what happened, if that wouldn't work he should die and try again but now doing everything since the first time but now he would be faster so he could prevent Felt to trade that thing and die.
That ending xD Damn, i thought that he would die again.
Can't wait for next week!

I don't think experiencing death over and over again is good for your health. Not really spoiling anything, since I'm only watching the series and never touched the other mediums, but I think that's one of the central things of the series.

Also, would you believe a random guy with weird clothes that comes out of nowhere and tells you "Hey, the girl that is paying you to get this is gonna kill you tonight, don't steal the thing", especially if you need the money AND you are an stubborn loli? Common sense makes you doubt of the guy inmediately, and I don't really think the MC is that dumb

I can't disagree with you, we still don't know much so we can't say much but you're right that dying many times can affect his mind etc
That's why i said 2 ways for him to solve the things, as i said "if that wouldn't work he should die and try again but now doing everything since the first time but now he would be faster so he could prevent Felt to trade that thing and die".
We can only wait to see how everything will be solved, i mean how he will save both of the girls.

This is actually one of the few times where I love both the opening and the ending of an anime. I loved how the opening went full circle, where he was reviving in the beginning and then died at the end.

Subaru pulled off a new record by dying to the thugs accidentally.

The ending was a nice touch. I'm guessing Reinhard found Satella and told her not to go to the loot house to which she disobeyed and went out of curiosity.

I could already see that being very problematic if that's the case. She's done it before by going in the loot house and getting killed after the MC told her to wait.

If Satella stays in the loot house when Esla arrives there's bound to be another death.

Note the differences below (for those who are confused whether Subaru helped the man's daughter):

What you thought was said:

A broke kid like you just helped my daughter after she got lost earlier.

>> Implying the broke kid is Subaru.

What was actually said:

A broke kid, like you, just helped my daughter after she got lost earlier.

>> Implying a kid similarly broke as Subaru (which was later reveled to be Emilia i.e. Fake Satella).

There is a reason the commas are there in that sentence. I hope it helps.

I honestly think they should have just worded that sentence a little better than that.

Subaru just is not very intelligent, it's rather ridiculous. Being scared is fine, and making the wrong decisions is fine, but Subaru does not seem to even reflect on his actions! Felt was unconvinced to trade immediately when Rom had Subaru's appraisal previously, and yet he somehow thinks finding Felt before she arrives will change that?

This is what bothered me most. He had no reason what-so-ever to believe making the exact same offer to Felt, earlier, would be beneficial. He had every reason to believe the value would be unbelievable because she was not the one to set it the first time around.

He had already proven that he could get to the scene of the crime before it happened, yet he just stood there like a bumbling retard while the pocket was picked. Changing the protagonist's intelligence and reasoning skills to dynamically fit the story just gets old, fast.

I mena in standard english, this is fine. WHen you are reading on the fly...nope. I guess they could have but that might make the flow of the sentence out of place. UNless the sentence is "A peniless kid moments ago helped my daughter after she got lost..." and the rephrase the rest of the text to fit that sentence.

It should be rephrased, yes. It's clearer in Japanese ("anta to onaji" which is more literally translated as "same as you" and you wouldn't get this confusion). But Subaru mentions right after in the translation "I guess fate is a compelling force too." I think this quite clearly implies that Subaru was not the one who helped the stand owner's daughter, since it makes rather little sense for Subaru to ask why the stand owner helped him and then reply with this.

It was a nice episode overall, provided us with some more information and it feels like a build-up for the next episode. That scene where we see Elsa's lips up close as she licks them though.. Her lips looked like they were many out of apple skin and it creeped me out. I guess I am really weird haha. She is quite attractive though.

Apparently a lot of Japanese readers dropped the LN in vol 4 because it was too heartwrenching and they felt bad.

Except it's not all suffering and what not otherwise there would be no story. There is triumph and lighthearted moments too, it's just that series has overall dark tone. And c'mon guys quit talking about stuff that's outside the scope of the episode thread. Leave the LN/WN discussions in their respective forums.

The ED song to this show is amazing, really suits the style. I can imagine it playing when shit really goes down.

I haven't read any of the source material but I can imagine this show being a depressing experience (with the whole dying and going back thing). Just imaging 20 episodes of development for him to die and repeat the cycle of nobody knowing him again.

Thought this episode was good though, I hope they correctly do the 'revival' thing in this show, don't want it to be overly repetitive for the sake of it.

Also ended on a cliffhanger(?) I guess. Expected Elsa but Satella showed up. I have worse feeling about Satella than Elsa to be honest. Lying about her name, getting pissed off at being called "Satella", her obsession with the insignia, can't help but feel that she's up to no good.

However, I'll need to wait to find out if my suspicions are correct, I'll be probably be completely wrong. Looking forward to next week though.

Damn, that was pretty good.

@ people moaning "y he no use tactics to stop past events. he dumb lololol"

I'm starting to think that ERASED is probably making people dumber.
Subaru isn't some time travel genius like Satoru where he has a fucking spinning calendar in his head depicting all the events regarding the circumstances behind Hinazuki's kidnapping and his mom's death. Nor does he have a photographic memory of the landscape of the fantasy world he literally just arrived in unlike Satoru in the town where he fucking grew up.
Subaru is taking action based on knowledge he gained from the iterations. It's just that he's not some smartass that just happens to know loads about the logic of time travel and the usage of history. He's a kid. Hell, even Marty needed Doc's help and had to look for an event that took place at an exact time and day just to get an idea of how he's supposed to get back to the future for an entire film.

I don't think there will be one because it's implied that Reinhard found her and delivered Subaru's message but she decided not to stay away.

There is something about Subaru's and Reinhard's first meeting that peeks my interest whether it's light novel or anime. Reinhard seemed to have someone in mind when Subaru asked him about "White clothes and silver hair" but as soon as he added the gorgeous part Reinhard was clueless. We know that Half-Elfs are not welcome by the general population and seen as something disgusting and dangerous. Maybe Reinhard knows Fake Satella and had her in mind until Subaru added "gorgeous"

That's what I wrote few pages back :-) Reinhard was utterly confused when Subaru added "bishoujo".

It's not uncommon for fantasy setting to have discrimination towards half-elves. They might get some position but will never be as successful and respected as humans or elves (or other demi-humans).

Lol, Subaru thought that that woman would appear again, but it was that silver-haired girl.

Another good episode. I do like its slow pace, and it is a two-cour series so they have plenty of time to develop the characters. Also, OP and ED are really good. No ED visuals yet.
