| I have a question about the Jump Festa Specials. All Specials are named after the year they aired in, so, according to MAL, the Gintama: Jump Festa Special aired in 2005, the Haikyuu!!: Jump Festa 2015 Special aired in 2015 and the Gag Manga Biyori Jump Festa 2002 Special aired in 2002, to name a few examples. However, according to Wikipedia, each year's Jump Festa is named after the subsequent year. Consequently, I think all Jump Festa Specials' titles should be renamed by respectively adding one year. Also, the following Specials should be renamed for consistency: Gintama: Jump Anime Tour 2008 Special -> Gintama: Jump Festa 2009 Special Toriko: Jump Super Anime Tour 2009 Special -> Toriko: Jump Festa 2010 Special |
| Tacas, please correct me if I'm wrong, but afaik, Anime Tours are held within the Jump Festa events and are listed by the airing year (on MAL, Wikipedia, and official sites). The airing date on the "Gintama: Jump Anime Tour 2008 Special" should be actually corrected to 2008 to be consistent with the rest, as right now it follows the DVD release date. There might some inconsistencies with the naming "Jump Festa Special" vs "Anime Tour Special", but other than that, personally I don't see it being beneficial/user friendly to rename them by respectively adding one year. |

| Shouldn't Kill la Kill have ecchi listed in its genres? Both AniDB and ANN do, and I've always heard it talked about as an ecchi in discussions on MAL and elsewhere. |
| TripleSRank, well, genres and themes are not the same thing. Also, I recall that this matter was already discussed a few times before. Kill la Kill wasn't considered eligible for the ecchi tag. The same goes for the drama tag for Goden Time requested by Jerkov. |

Since it's about playing survival games.I know it talks more about the MC getting involved with the game and the secret and blah, blah... but curious about this since most of it is them playing. Is it more of a theme than a genre for it? |

| TripleSRank, kuchitsu, since genre tags on the entries are not weighted, in most cases it might be quite hard for a user to make a judgement from just looking at the entry on what genres are prevalent in that particular anime. That's why the goal is to list only the main genres (2-4 usually) and not the whole bunch of them. That makes finding relevant anime through tags much easier. If you want anime, say about cars, you'll find "Initial D", but not the "JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken: Stardust Crusaders" just because it had a couple episodes with the car chases/races. JoJo is an action anime, but not the anime about cars. The current tags reflect that. Ultimately the genre tags are added to tell you what kinda of anime is that, not to list everything that anime might contain. Most genre requests here consist of different themes, basic premises, episodic settings, elements used for plot progression, but not the main genres themselves. | Yeah, I've seen some sites where they have like 20 categoriestags for every anime and you always wonder which ones are actually important. Even though it is divided into two files in some releases, it appears to be a single video. I don't see any signs of it being two episodes: there is no another episode title or anything like that in the middle, the story just continues after an eyecatch. Japanese Wikipedia also lists it as a single "EX" episode. |

| Thank you Leknaat, although may I ask why the genre stuff gets skipped? Ontama's plot is romance centric and M3 uses psychological moments with its characters and atmosphere; Lagrange I can understand as not listed as slice of life since aliens and mechs. |
| DuelGundam2099, often genres are a matter of personal perception. Ontama is just like Hanamaru Youchien in regards to Romance. Whatever there is romance related that's just elements of Slice of Life and Comedy genres. The main plots are not about developing love stories. For M3 there is a Drama tag already. That probably covers the difficulties characters going through. kuchitsu, yeah, looks like a single two-part extra episode. |

| Since when? OVAs have always been merged when they're side stories. guidelines said: OVA/Special episodes will be combined into one entry unless it is indicated that one is a sequel of another. I can't find any indication that these OVAs are connected. They're simply side stories of the original series. If you're referring to the "Hamuchans" in the titles, that's just the Japanese name of the hamsters in the show -- ie, the equivalent of ham-hams that the English version uses. |

I had already submitted the correct release date along with the ending theme but it has not been updated yet. I see. It's just that it sounds like, for example, Toriko aired at an event called "Jump Festa 2009", which isn't the case, but I understand that renaming it would be inconvenient. I do, however, think that all Specials should be named "Jump Festa Special", especially in Gintama's case as the other three entries in the franchise are called that too. |

The idea for that rule is mostly for longer OVA series or stuff with similar release format (manga, LN bundles), so LoGH doesn't have 110 entries or stuff like this http://myanimelist.net/anime/3288/Gundam_Evolve to not have all the episodes split either, not necessarily for those OVAs with no connection. Just like you can see some series have different special entries, sometimes they bundle a special episode that is 24 minutes long in one volume and might also include random shorts in all volumes and they aren't merged. |

The Mini-Hama specials could be merged based on how they aired, but the official site list the Mini-Hama at 8 episodes, and afaik these specials are not continuations of the main series. We'll see. |

Mini Hama was one of the things I put in my req post but AT-X's TV schedule listed those 'specials' as episode 9 and 10. Example: "ミニはま -MINIMUM HAMATORA- (9)" The formal title for the anime is ミニはま -MINIMUM HAMATORA- so at least for the main entry change the main title to Mini Hama: Minimum Hamatora. We had this convo before for another anime that I wanted the 13th episode split from an existing entry because the official site listed it as a Special (maybe Operation Sanctuary, I don't remember, it was right around when we did G-On Riders) you found that it was listed at episode 13 on the official TV schedule and said that was the more important thing to consider. I was cool with that so it was left as is, and also the reason why I brought up Mini Hama in my req post as the official TV schedule is the more important thing; well besides the official title update. |
| Thing about Mini Hama is that at least 1 episode was meant to have aired in the theaters along side the movie so it'd end up being a Movie and would be in no grounds to be merged/be considered a Special (unless it was also aired on TV and then you'd have the choice to ignore the theater screening to not make things too complicated since the airs dates are close as well but then you wouldn't create a Special entry for it but merge it to the TV entry). We'll have to wait for the movie BDs and see what's in there. Right now the Special entry is wrong either way because it has the same date as the movie, meaning it should be a Movie (and assume episode 9 and 10 aired on the theaters and were later aired on TV) OR its date should be changed for when episode 9 and 10 aired on TV (Dec 28 - Jan 4) to keep the Special type (which I really don't think should happen, either change it to Movie and assume episode 9 and 10 aired in the theaters or merge it). BDs should be out by the end of February, that might be a bit far away honestly and if it was me I'd just merge the entries for now and make a new one later if truly required. EDIT: http://myanimelist.net/anime/31827/Comet_Lucifer:_Garden_Indigo_no_Shasou_kara Pretty sure this should be 12 episodes, only 1 of each 2 specials (per volume) were streamed. Should be changed to Special too, like how http://myanimelist.net/anime/31234/ had all the specials streamed online but is considered a special in the end because it was limited streaming. |
