komasan said: Zazie122 said: Somewhat correct. スタミュ is short for "star musical", so therefore the romanised title should proooobably be Star Mu (given the URLs). Well, that works too. I thought since they officially romanised it that way in English it would be less confusing to keep to one way to spell it, but yeah either way. It's still more accurate than "High School Star Musical". True. Starmyu isn't wrong, but Star Mu would be what I'd personally use, since that's what they're using on Twitter and the official website URLs. Sorry if I came across as rude, btw. |

@guys above Please keep in mind MAL will usually not go for the official english title or romanization, not saying either of you are wrong, just something to keep in mind when using any websites and twitters and stuff as sources. Movies always get another entry regardless of content. |

Hello! I'm right now submitting episodes for the anime Kannagi, I just have a small question/note. I couldn't find official English synopsis. So I wrote them myself as I watch the anime. And, I also added/edited them at TVDb (http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=83318&lid=7) and TMDb (https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/34714) because the current synopsis are superlong Wikipedia synopsis.. and that for a 20 minute anime.. It just mentions everything that happens so you actually don't need to watch for example episode 2 to follow the story and watch episode 3 :') (You can check the changelogs at the episodes on TMDB, and you see my username adding the synopsis) I didn't post a source though, because I wrote them. Is that okay? http://myanimelist.net/anime/3958/Kannagi/episode |

http://myanimelist.net/anime/24227/Nisekoi_OVA I believe the 4th OVA should have its own entry titled 'Nisekoi: OVA". The preview for the OVA is using the ED song of the second season, "Aimai Hertz (曖昧ヘルツ)" so it makes sense that it'll use the second season title which has a colon in it, thus making it a separate entry. I've also submitted a relation change for the OVA to relate it to the first season instead. |

Whereas the Kuinaki Sentaku OVAs are entirely a separate thing and their own story that's not tied to the other OVAs. The 4th Nisekoi OVA should be, as others have stated, a separate Nisekoi: OVA entry, however. |

Zazie122, the minimum requirements for adding an entry to the database has been lowered recently. If an upcoming anime has at least a news announcement on the forums it can be added now, but it will be removed 18 months later if there was no information updates to it in that period. Sequels or another installations of the franchises were always a given anyway. On the other hand we would like to put more responsibility on the user to provide more info for old and obscure entries: "Additions with less than a title, a picture (where possible) and at least two fields in the information left hand panel completed." This is the minimal information accepted, if the user doesn't provide it, the entry should be denied. That is done to help keep the additions queue in a better shape. |

Fair enough, but it feels like it's way too far in advance to me. There are some entries in the database where the only info is that a sequel of some kind was announced at the end of the series, not even a season 2 or anything. I feel like it's pointless having that kind of thing approved when it'll probably be way over a year before we have any other info about it. Especially since, for whatever reason, entries take forever to be deleted and several times duplicates have been approved for a news story (the KanColle sequel comes to mind). I understand it's human error and it happens, but imo there's not enough checking done. Also, to me, 18 months feels far too long but that's just a personal thing. Not trying to be mean, btw -- just stating how I feel about the way it all works. |

Zazie122, 18 months after is the same as for hentai OVA's getting set to completed. Pointless would be having to constantly clean up tons of duplicate submissions and all the information users try to submit to these yet in the queue entries. Popular series generate a lot of duplicate submissions if not accepted in time. Waiting a year for new FMP series to come is not a problem here for anyone. Users like to have an entry on their PTW. As for the entry itself, the series is already in production (and it's unlikely it will get canceled, or delayed), I am pretty sure it will be updated relatively soon as more information is revealed. |

Leknaat said: Zazie122, 18 months after is the same as for hentai OVA's getting set to completed. I also feel like that's too long, personally. And is there a particular reason why it's only hentai that's 18 months and not non-hentai OVAs? Non-hentai OVAs seem to be set to completed right after an episode comes out, unless a future one has already been announced. Pointless would be having to constantly clean up tons of duplicate submissions and all the information users try to submit to these yet in the queue entries. Popular series generate a lot of duplicate submissions if not accepted in time. True, but I think some of this would be helped if MAL got rid of "this entry has not been approved yet" or whatever it is. I've seen people saying that they submitted something ages ago that hadn't yet been approved, and it seems like in some cases it takes far longer than it should. Waiting a year for new FMP series to come is not a problem here for anyone. Users like to have an entry on their PTW. As for the entry itself, the series is already in production (and it's unlikely it will get canceled, or delayed), I am pretty sure it will be updated relatively soon as more information is revealed. How do we know it won't be delayed? If they haven't set an official release date of any kind, it could be delayed in-house, and in a worst case scenario put in development hell (see the fourth Evangelion Rebuild movie). I think my biggest problem is the inconsistency in a lot of the database, which I'm not trying to blame on anyone and I realise there's no easy fix. I've applied to become a mod to try to help out and do what I can, so I'd happily work on making things in the database more consistent (English vs Japanese titles, for example). |

Zazie122, the nature of how hentai OVA's are announced and followed by another episode(s) is a bit different from regular OVA's. >"this entry has not been approved yet" I believe that the ability for users to add the entry that is still in queue was a bug anyway. But that just proves the point that users like to have an entry on their lists. It doesn't matter if it doesn't have enough info, or gets cancelled/removed later on. How do we know it won't be delayed? maybe you are slightly overthinking here? I think my biggest problem is the inconsistency in a lot of the database You right, there is no easy fix. Most of the time you should be very careful. It's quite easy to create another inconsistency by trying making something consistent. applied to become a mod to try to help out and do what I can I wish you good luck with the application :) |

Nah, fair enough. Again, I apologise if I came across as rude, it wasn't my intention. Just curious about things, really. Maybe I do think too much about things (well, not maybe!), but I feel like someone has to be pedantic and a lot of the time MAL isn't pedantic enough about stuff. Which, as I said, isn't anyone's fault, and it's just human nature. |

You do request some things that should be added, like Parody to Bikini Warriors, etc, but you add these to your ever-increasing "my opinion is superior and I'll keep pushing it down on you" list and people end up not taking you seriously and you end up getting them all denied on the basis that if you're wrong for half of them and keep being annoying about them, then the other half shouldn't be trusted either. |

how Romance is more of a sub-genre in Cross Ange Considering it was an important plot point in the second half I have to disagree. To be fair it does deserve an ecchi tag more so. The MCs in the new Gundam didn't even go to space yet and you're already requesting it, too. Next episode begins the spacey bits so we'll have to wait and see. |
