| One of the few action-packed show with great characters and a good plot. I really like the art and animation they used. Those mecha battles are amazing and fluid. However, I do feel they should spend a little more time explaining the plot and it's purpose because it felt a little rushed for e.g. the mind-controlling parasites and Kunato being able to impregnate the placenta and have it give birth to a Chimera Mecha with a child like personality which he can ride and speak to telepathically in a matter of few days is somewhat unbelievable. The harem and romance part felt mediocre and almost boring to watch mostly because of Nagate. The characters were great but I hope they give Nagate a more assertive and strong personality(mostly during his interactions with other) instead of the overly used nervous and emotional personality we see in many anime and it seems monotonous to me. The whole Tsugumi thing is kinda weird to watch(even when the chimeria mecha blushes was like WTF?) and they could've used a more humanoid alien creature instead of that worm like thing but I guess it's not big issue. Apart from that everything was great and worth watching. Overall 7.5/10 |

| Great episode. Best girl gauna died :( Too bad tentacle girl got taken away again. She just wanted a little tentacle-kiss. Nice AMV for end credits with the S1 OP. 7/10 (good) As much as I love the action, the corny harem comedy stuff hurts the series. |

| Oh damn awesome, this episode is 34 minutes instead of 24. YES, THE OLD OP COMING BACK IN THE THICK OF BATTLE!!!! FUCK YEAH All these "there's no turning back now" comments about taking over Planet Nine are making me hopeful for a season 3. Nagate is now a Knight of Sidonia!!!! Minor feels right there, from Tsumugi of all people. That was surprisingly well realized by her and well handled. Taking a trip down memory lane. Interesting to see how it's all turned out. Fucking love the OST song that starts playing right after Nagate says "Finally home, Grandpa." And then the original OP comes back again, and as the full song, to end season 2! Great choice. Really liked the ending, and season 2 as a whole. I really, really hope that there is a season 3! This is by far one of the more underrated anime that I've watched, and I thought season 2 was better than 1 - so here's hoping there's a season 3, and that it continues to improve! 8.5/10 ex_necross said: It's too soon for an announcement of a 3rd season, seeing as the manga hasn't ended quite yet. I was under the impression that CG, especially when used for the entire season, is definitely more expensive than traditional animation. |

They saved some costs though since they were able to reuse a bunch of models from the first season. The only new vehicle they had to model was the Hayakaze and they skipped out on the Type 19 in favor of reusing the Tsugumori. As for Gauna, the only new models were Tsumugi, Benisuzume's second form, and the placental GBE - granted the first two were quite elaborate. Not much in the way of character and creature models - except for that thing that attacked Mozuku and Kunato in Ochiai's lab, then the blood nematodes. Don't think the backdrops were any more labor intensive than they were in other 2D shows. 3D CG has high fixed costs, but relatively low variable ones since models are easily adapted to being animated at various angles and compositions. |

Despite all that the ending really isn't an ending since most plot points are open(except the immortal council one, Kobayashi got rid of that little trouble for us), so we can only just sit here and painfully wait for the day of a season 3. |
| Man what the fuck? They really can't end it here, to me these 2 seasons seemed like a prologue to the true story. There is SO much more to cover. Anyway in my opinion this is the best science fiction anime that exists today, as far as pure sci-fi is concerned. No anime can truly top it in this regard, and I would love for someone to prove me wrong on this. As far as this episode, looks like Hoshijiro gauna is back into Nagate's harem again. I bet she implanted something during that kiss like some guana eggs lol. |
| Great ending of this second season I must say and I really hope there will be a third season as this atmosphere sure gets me hyped every time I watch an episode even with the slower ones! It's just great and even if this is a full CGI anime it still manages to make it very entertainable so all in all this second season ends great and I really do hope there will be a third season! |

| My emotional all time low of this series was when Hoshijiro died. They keep bringing her back up and the gauna seem to be terrorizing the hell out of him with it. The writers don't sugar coat anything in this series LMAO. People he cares about die all around him. Emotional roller coaster almost every episode! Anyways great conclusion to s2! Epic fight scene and the music playing during the orbital barrage gave me goosebumps! 10/10 very underrated series and from what I've heard, season 3 has about a 85% chance of happening. Just need to wait for the release date. |

| Does anyone know if there is a director's cut version available anywhere? It has a scene where Tsumugi transformed into Hoshijiro, and I don't recall seeing it before. |

| I liked how they made some slower episodes in middle of S2. It was refreshing after S1. Seeing Tsumugi's cute side was weird at first, but then I got used to it. I really hope to see S3 with some Benisuzume/Hoshijiro closure! :s That is as long as she doesn't get between Izana and Nagate... |

| This just reminded me that Hoshijiro is best girl T_____T Dam that barrage was cool af! Ok when it comes down to it this season while having even better animation/produ tion quality lacked the deep plot elements that the first season had. Especially the romcom episodes were way too much. Still these last 3 episodes somewhat made up for it. The montage at the end worrries me that there wont be a 3rd season, hope I am wrong :/ 8/10 |
| Man, the last two episodes were absolutely amazing. I was having dinner during this episode and when Hoshijiro popped up, I stopped eating and stared at my screen with my mouth stuffed and wide open. I couldn't believe my eyes. She's by far my favorite girl. Buuuuut then it turned out it was Tsumugi impersonating her. Dammit, that broke my heart. ;_; AGAIN, because my heart also broke when she died in the first season. Episodes 5-10 were very boring for me. I did not start watching this show for SOL harem antics, but for awesome space battles. The first season managed to develop its characters without a large amount of SOL, so I wonder why the second season couldn't do the same. 6/10 for this season, while I rated the first one a 7/10. I'd give this a 6.5, but sadly that's not possible. I definitely loved the first four episodes and the last two, but episodes 5-10 lowered the score for me. Still rooting for a third season though. |

Thought of giving 7/10 because i was bored of the sol sidonia (without hoshijiro its boring), but gonna give it +1 after the benisuzume x nagate scene, plus seeing that hoshijiro might still be alive makes me so happy!!. Love <3 Tsumugi , she's too kawaii!!. |
| I really enjoyed this show as a hole but this season especially. I do have to agree it was definitely more "sweet & awe" moments than season 1 but for me i was still in suspense at the end of every episode craving for more. I have absolutely no complaints and i pray for a season 3, i didn't realize the manga had ended this year so i'll definitely be picking it up! |
| Wow....this anime is really awesome, initially I was skeptical about this show because everything is on 3DCG, but everything about this is great and thought provoking. The animation and sounds are really nice to enjoy. This definitely needs sequel |

Also as an extra if you read up on Nihei's previous works you'll see the earlier ideas appear such as in Blame! - GBE (Graviton Beam Emitter) + Megastructure material, which kind of is used in Sidonia when they reinforce Tsugomori to make it more durable. Abara - Gauna, different monsters but same name. Biomega - The usage of a bear character. Thanks, guess I will just read the manga now to get my fix of Nagate x Izana ♥ I did read BLAME!, Biomega, Abara, Blame Academy etc before and noticed the references yeah. You forgot about Toha Heavy Industries though :p EDIT: Turned out the manga got a troll ending and wasted my time. Jeez. |

He doesn't show hate and love for Sidonia at all, pretty neutral. This needs a season 3 for sure. Goddamit Nagate, choose ffs!! Its a little sad that we've getting used to 3D animation, and this is the end of it. |

Removing entire scenes, adding new scenes or details that weren't in the manga at all, or merging scenes together, or adding scenes that were chronologically happening later on in the manga... One of the most notable change is the overemphazisation of character romances / interactions while there were less in the manga. In the manga Nagate did end up choosing his girl... You might be surprised though (>_<) The studio who did both seasons is working on another anime atm. Season 2 sold less than the first too. People seem to be split about the harem stuff. We MIGHT see a third season to give the story a closure in 2017... Maybe late 2016 if lucky. I wouldn't hold my breath on it, especially how shitty and abrupt the ending was in the manga... Maybe Polygon Pictures will be allowed to 'fix' it though. |

| This season was largely a bore...only the last 3 episodes were worth watching....I liked that they decided to focus on character relationships but to completely drop what made season 1 so great for 9 episodes was a mistake...should have continued to focus on the suspense and the war on the gauna rather than turn the show into something totally different. Season 1 may be vastly underrated, this one, not so much. |

| So now kunato has a second placenta hoshijiro to make chimeras out of. Still curious about his motives, mostly he protects sidonia but sometimes he just randomly throws away kabizashi or creates sentient gauna cannons. And that ending, it was like watching an AMV. Felt far too final though. I really hope that doesn't mean that they don't intend to make season 3. |

You probably feel this way because the ending perfectly wraps up Nagate's rise as a hero (also represented by him getting the medal. Him retracing this steps make us realize just how far he has gotten. If season 3 comes out, Nagate's story would be vastly dofferent. He no longer has anything to prove. Instead, he would be realizing the power that he possesses as a hero, how it influences or inspires those around him. Regardless, it would be a new chapter for our hero Tankikaze Nagate. |
| Season 2 was a lot less interesting than season one. Everything just felt haphazard. They concentrated on the wrong things like the romance elements. They threw around mysterious elements but they didn't go anywhere. Season one was simple but it felt clean and more targeted in a good way. It picked up a bit in the final episodes this season but not enough to get it more than a 5/10 for me. I still enjoyed it but it definitely dropped in my mind. Going to pick up the manga hopefully it's more fulfilling than season 2 was. |

| I came here to read the comments and I'm really impressed that you guys like Hoshijiro so much lmao She had no personality imo. I like Izana, Tsumugi and Yuhata way more. Anyway, this season was so confusing. First season we had lots of fights and one death per episode*, however this one was so shoujo-ish. I'm glad it focused more on Izana and Nagate stopped weepping over Hoshijiro and moved on with his love life, but... I wanted it to focus on the Sephirot-like guy and his evil plans to. 6,5/10. *I'M EXAGGERATING GUYS |

| That was a very ... intense and hot kiss. So now they've got a second Hoshijiro, more chimera's ? This season was a bit more focused on the romance but I really didnt mind, the action was just as good as season 1. There's still a lot to cover, the new Chimera (ultimate being) Kunato was building, the big ass cluster they're about to go into war with ... etc. Can't wait for season 3 as the manga finished already. Solid SOLID 9/10 yet again. |

| OMFG! DAT KISS WAS SO HOT! GAUNA TOUNGE TOO! AHHH!!!!!!!!!! The whole time, I'm yelling "KISS! KISS! KISS! OMG! PLEASE KISS!" while ignoring Nagate suffering. Then it finally happened and I started yelling "YES!!!!" I shed tears. They played the 1st op, I got hyped AF! I screamed with excitement when Beni-Hoshijiro started moving after her core was destroyed. When Hoshijiro appeared outside the house I said "WTF?" then the scene changed and it was Tsugumi. I laughed and got mad at the same time. I like you Tsumugi, but you don't mess with my feels like that, especially when its best girl. Nagate visited the place he went with Hoshijiro. I shed tears. He ends up back to his home before it was started. That was touching. They played the 1st opening as the ending theme. Best choice EVER! Showing the journey we went through from start to now, but the most important were the Hoshijiro scenes. I shed tears. Too many feels in this episode. Bring back Hoshijiro! I still don't get why Nihei killed her off. That is the biggest sin of Sidonia. I watched the directors cut. |
