I'm just glad that even though Shiraishi doesn't remember his name, it's obvious she's in love with Yamada as well. That makes me so happy! But is it wrong that I also felt the jelly vibes from Nene when she kissed him? I think she is already re-developing feelings for Yamada. I just want all of their memories to come back already :(

I loved the episode! I did not read the manga so i don't know about the rushed parts. However for the people complaining about the rushing, consider it this way. You get the anime adaptation (rushed maybe, I could agree since some parts go over too fast) but if they went more then 1 season we always risk the fact of never getting a sequel. Or having to wait 2-3 years for one. I really prefer anime that completes the story since I don't like reading so I won't pick up manga.
I guess there will be OVA's later to add on to the story if it is popular enough.

back on topic: I feel bad for Yamada, he finally managed to cough up the courage to confess and then gets shot down because she's in love with his forgotten self. Nene is gone get annoyed next episode again i guess :D

Actually if they made it 2 cours instead of 1 people wouldn't be complaining that it feels rushed and it would've given a fairly nice conclusive ending.

I don't disagree it would have been better as a 2 cours. But i have seen many anime stop halfway due to not selling enough and never produce their next part(s). At the end of the day all we can do is accept it anyways.

I hope the anime don't cover too much of the manga, cause I want to read it, and if i already know too much of the story, it's kinda repetitive to do it

Lol, the anime did not even cover the important part of the manga. Believe me, you will see a 1 chapter content of manga in only one minute of the anime lol. Manga have much more content and development than the anime.

Man, the rush is getting really bad...

I can't recommend the manga enough to those who show even a little interest in this show. They should've done a 2 cour or even a split cour for this to have all the great character development in, but oh well.

Kind of a spoilery RANT:

Ugh... I'm really considering dropping this SO RUSHED anime. Fuck this shit. Leona's introduction was completely RUSHED and different. Miyamura should've said it to Yamada first and confess that he don't trust any of them. Where is the development between characters??? At this point, it's all about finding 7 witches and Shiraishi and NO character development for others. They completely skipped Miyamura trusting in Yamada. Damn.

These characters just popped out of nowhere! Seriously. The student president suddenly say sorry and all, it's so rushed. They completely omitted Yamada wanting to join the club again. The reason Yamada to join the club again was very important too and they skipped it. Yamada in this shitty adaptation only cared about Shiraishi, the Yamada I know would missed all his friends which is why he wanted to join the club again.

They rushed Noa, they rushed all 7 witches, even Nene included. Not even 1 frame of Yandere Asuka scene. They completely forgot about Yamada's imouto, and just popped out of nowhere in this episode. They rushed Leona, they rushed Miyamura, and they rushed everything!!! So much potential wasted. Even Tamaki and Yamada friendship development was omitted!!! They skipped Yamada and Miyamura friendship moment too.

What's next? Rushing through the memory lost arc??? Reduce the amount of screen time of Nene because there is little development between Nene and Yamada in the anime? Because they COMPLETELY forgotten about Noa. She should've some moments with Yamada being an informant for the seventh witch and Tamaki. Now these witches are gonna have less role than a cameo because fuck the studio. Fuck this adaptation. They turn one of my favorite manga into shit.

Haha, just tough it out until the end; there's only two more episodes. I've already come to terms that the series is getting run into the ground story-wise. From episode one, extensive character and relationship development was chucked to the side. I'm watching it with a different mindset now. Basically, I'm just enjoying the fact that some of the characters from one of my favorite manga are actually being animated with color and legitimate voices. If anything, the seiyuus have been a major plus for this series.

So they didn't skip Leona after all.. Though her screentime only like, less than 7 minutes?

Again, they rush through things a lot.
They skipped the part where Yamada tries to re-join the club! So, the scene where he met Shiraishi looks pretty sudden and awkward for some reason.. Also, Tamaki appeared out of nowhere yet again. :/

They also skipped relationship developments between Yamada and Shiraishi post-memories-erased, which made me wonder why the heck did he confessed all of sudden in the anime right after they met.

On bright side, at least this episode is better than the last one.

Oh hells bells, I really didn't want to complain about this every single episode thread, but my GOSH this pacing is ABYSMAL. Seriously, not only is tons of content skipped, but the stuff that isn't skipped either makes no sense due to the content that was skipped (has anyone wondered why Yamada kept Odagiri waiting so long???) or completely lacks impact due to the rushed pacing failing to capture the atmosphere of the scene; for example, the scene with Yamazaki (student council president) hugging Yamada and sincerely apologizing for the suffering inflicted upon him should've been heartwarming and touching, yet it was displayed here in passing and had no impact whatsoever. Every scene in this episode was like that, TBH. Scenes like that or Yamada suddenly asking Shiraishi out need build up in order to hit home, and the anime is cutting out all the build up.

Not to mention all of the character interaction such as between Yamada and Tamaki which is mandatory to the series' character development. Most likely the interactions between Yamada and Odagiri will be either skipped or skimmed over as well. The fresh character interaction between characters that hadn't interacted much before and focusing attention on characters that seemed sidelined was a large part of what made this arc worthwhile in the manga. Removing most of that ruins the arc by itself, forgetting everything else.

This just ain't working out, sorry, Liden Films.

Holy bum-rush, Batman!

The pacing is horrible, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. Not only does it leave no room for character development, but it also makes anime-only viewers believe that these characters aren't even human.

First off, Miyamura wasn't suppose to know jackshit about his sister knowing about the Rika. All he was suppose to know was that his sister was previously a member of the Occult Studies Club, and tie it in with the Witches handbooks that they had discovered coming from the Occult Studies Club, and then they went to ask Leona if she knew anything about the entire deal with the witches.

Leona's full tale of woe and her reason for not going back to school was reduced to two flashbacks of her tripping over the school gate running home and calling up her friend, both of which does nothing to show how scary the situation was suppose to be. They didn't even show who her fellow "Occult Studies Club Member" was.....

Then Yamada was suppose to struggle with the decision before deciding to go ahead with it to find out from Leona who the 7th witch was just to make sure Miyamura becomes the next StuCo President.

He was also suppose to struggle a bit in trying to convince Shiraishi and the rest of them that they knew him, before realizing what had actually happened with the spell.

As for the President saying it was a precautionary measure, that was pure BS, the president didn't even know that this was what would happen. It was because Yamada's Copy power doesn't allow the spell to normally work, and hence by copying Rika's power, he ended up making everyone forget about him instead.

Like an idiot he didn't think it would be that big of a deal, because
a.) he didn't actually figure out what Rika's powers would do (due to imperfect information on Leona's part), and
b.) he figured he would just need everyone else to remind him of the memories that he'd lost, and that would be it (not realizing his own power would change the spell into something entirely different).

Then the part with Shiraishi. Yamada was suppose to regret and despair at the fact that making everyone forget about him made it so Miyamura replaced his position in every single memory they had together, and hence Miyamura was gonna NTR his ass because of his decision to let Rika take away his memories. He was suppose to act way more desperate in trying to make Shiraishi kiss him, but she would reject him because he's not the person she loves in her own memories (she thinks she likes Miyamura). He's suppose to feel stupid and in despair for his own rushed decision and arrogance that everything would turn out the way he expected.... where is all that characterization now?!?!?!?

Hell, the way they adapted it, you would think that Yamada had zero issues with becoming a loner again (when even his little speech with Leona indicated otherwise). And also due to all the skipped content, the show is making Yamada much more decisive and "smarter" than he really is, whereas in the manga, he goes by his hot-headed gut feelings and most of the time is suppose to be proven that his decisions aren't the best.

This adaptation totally killed the true Yamada characterization, and as well as most of the other side characters as well...

Seriously guys, just go read the manga. It's sooooo much better.

I’m not usually bother when they skip or change things that are trivial to the story and character development from the source material. Even if they do skip or change something somewhat important, I’m still very forgiven. I can deal with those changes every now and then, as long as the flow it’s still good and coherent. I always look at both, anime and manga, as two completely different entities, anyway.

Now, in this case, I can’t.
I don’t like the rush and how everything suddenly comes into place without any previous build-up. I’m not feeling the flow, thus I’m not happy with the character and story progression at all. I always thought the manga’s flow was ok, but in here (at least since episode 7) I feel it’s just close to none-existent.

I guess I will try to enjoy the rest of the series for what it is and forget about any type of well-organized progression from now on.

This TV series feels more like recap of non-existing thorough adaptation of manga. But I find it enjoyable in own way. I'm agree with L-ryoushi, Yamada here is smarter and less desperate, and that's what I can't complaint about. I had enough drama in manga, which I red and rered, so I gladly appreciate the different feeling that anime gives. All other aspects are quite good, especially VA and bgm.

But 2 cours would be better, sure.

I highly doubt that's happening. The anime has skipped so much content that a second season would simply result in much more confusion. This anime should've been done in two cours or split into two single cours for two different seasons sort of like how the Fate series have been doing it. Either way, the main thing is that the pacing needed to be drastically slowed down for this series to truly shine.

I agreed. The pacing is so bad that we don't see any openings for development in the characters. And people will be more confused with season 2 because of those new characters.

Now that is the problem with this anime. There is no build up whatsoever to the witches nor the characters. You don't see Noa, Otsuka, Sarushima or even Miyabi getting more closer to Yamada in the anime. Even Nene x Yamada scene was cut a lot, and by a lot I mean a lot, that there would be less possibility of Nene x Yamada ever happening in the anime viewers perspective. So I think they only focuses on Yamada x Shiraishi only for this anime and not really a harem anime.

Very true and I completely agree. Surprisingly, it isnt as bad as I expected and they've done a decent job with their limited episodes. However, with this current seasons execution of events a second season is highly unlikely sadly.

Yea I'm pretty pissed off because of "not harem'y this anime is" since it has the harem genre, unless some twist could make Nene and Yamada atleast be friends or atleast make Nene look like a tsundere type among Yamada. But not to mention there's still some girls that doesn't like Yamada. Oh well looks like they're to focused on Yamada x Shiraishi. (they're kinda not living up by its name/genre) :-/

Even though Im not a manga reader even I can tell that lots of stuff is missing.
The recap excuse does might work for games adaption like Persona 4 but a manga with over 150 chaps can be adapted faithfully.

I don't get why manga readers or whatever source material readers are complaining about Yamada like pointing out every single flaw along with the supposed "right" pacing. Wth. This is a decent adaptation even compared to the manga.

I'm sure if this show were planned to have 24 eps or even greater, People will probably complain again and say like "why the hell is the pacing so slow", "i'm getting tired of watching this show, it's getting boring" and the likes.

Either way, This is show is just fun to watch. Simple yet very smart in delivering comedy, romance and mystery.

Out of all the girls in the manga right now, and there are a lot of girls, only four of them actually like him, and only two of them are actual contenders as girlfriends for Yamada at this point. It's only a harem in the sense that there are a lot of girls and they interact with the male protagonist.

Actually there's like 6-7 people who likes Yamada. Let's do a headcount on Yamada's harem. Spoilers from the manga till chapter 162.

[spoiler]
1. Shiraishi
2. Nene
3. Himekawa
4. Noa
5. Otsuka likes Shiraishi in Yamada's body
6. Tsubasa Konno also shown interest in Yamada after her date arc.
7. Karen Kimishima, was hinted by Kotori that she think about Yamada.
8. And for the lolz Miyamura.
