I bet she'll blame Hikki for that, even when he didn't know either cause it was Haruno's doing.

No, that is a complete misreading of Yukino's character. She would never blame anyone else for her own personal fault. She is also far too honest to blame someone for not understanding a situation she never previously informed them about. And being honest she knows exactly what transpired there with her sister and her mother, which is why she felt so trapped and gave Hachiman that pathetic looking face.

The "this is also your birthday party" was I believe a lie, Yukino was about to refuse to go to the party, but then her mother deployed that line to up the stakes making it more difficult for Yukino to refuse (also notice how Yukino jerked in reaction to that statement, she knew it was a lie).

In short the mother was using Hachiman and Yui as blackmail against Yukino because had Yukino refused her mother would have made it an extremely uncomfortable situation for 8man and Yui to witness. In Japan that is a huge deal, it involves face and shame, and it was something that Yukino would go out of her way to prevent them from getting involved in. 8man understood the situation very clearly, Yui was a bit out in left field, she knew something happened, but she wasn't sure what.

Once you understand that the "its also your birthday" was a lie, it makes it clear why they didn't bother to animate the condescension that the mother feels towards Yui and 8man. What she did to Yukino there was more than enough to show what type of person she is.

I like to think of this series as a mystery. 8man is slowly putting the pieces together, and the final crime scene will be where he blows all the lies between Hayato, Yukino, Haruno, and the family up. That is the climax we all want to see.

In the US that's called "being put on the spot". My sisters use to pull that crap with me and an ex-girlfriend also. Yukino should just fake having to go to the bathroom, needing a drink or pull them aside to get out of that situation.

The resolution with the other school is very weak, unlike previous resolutions. I don't know if this comes from skipping content or not, but they've been building up running out of time through multiple episodes already and it only took two sentences to get the problem resolved, as if all the loss time just magically reappeared. All the built-up tension just get completely wasted.

Everything else went by in a flash, basically. Fun to see vibes with all the girls, but still too little developed. Yukino's mom appears to be the final boss, but honestly I don't get the idea of rushing through all the content just so they can create anime original?

Even though I haven't read the LN, pacing issues are just way too obvious.

What the fuck in the world you just did, Feel Studio ._.
You can cram the rest of Volume 9 into one episode, The rest of Volume 9 even had enough material for doing so and yet you rushed everything. The transition between first part of the episode to the second part of the episode is a bullshit lol, They didn't even bother to explain why Yui, Yukinon, Hachiman and Komachi were visiting Shrine lol. If they cram volume 10 until chapter 7 next episode, what are they going to do with remaining of episode 12 and 13 ? An anime original ending ? You've gotta be kidding me.

Anyway, The first part was amazing. Seeing how Iroha got changed because of Hachiman and She began to open herself to him makes her another candidate of Hachiman's harem list, When she said "Please take responsibility" I stumbled upon this picture on my Facebook's newsfeed

Even though we know the pacing issues are just way too obvious. They did a good job at delivering the scenes of Yukimom's scene as well as the train scene between Hachiman and Yuki. Damn didn't expect they would animated Iroha's train scene and Yukinon's train scene in one episode.
Nonetheless, It's still a good episode.

and the memorandum in the end voiced by Yukinon, Hachiman, Hayama and Haruno but who exactly wrote all of these memorandum ?

I really do think Iroha would be the most ideal girl. It allows him to maintain the relationship with Yui and Yukino and he gets a girl to date.

She clearly is interested in him and so I don't see why it wouldn't work. He seems the most comfortable with her out of all the girls.

Does someone want to explain it to me? I wasn't following it at all.

Yukinoshita's birthday party? Why was Hachiman looking at Hayama like that? And what did haruno mean by "Yukino, don't?"

Yukino is the end girl. The best chemistry is between 8man and Yukino. They have most interesting interactions and they feel natural. Wait for the next two episodes to see the development between them ;)

Opposites attract.

Yukino and Hachiman are too similiar.

Iroha is too into Hayama.

Yui fits the bill perfectly. She is always taking Hachi out of his comfort zone and making him grow as a person. I like the moments they have and they balance each other quite nicely.

That was enjoyable.

Yukino...I love you. That scene where she absolutely shit down the necks of everyone in that meeting was superb. Everybody has been thinking it for the past 4 episodes, and Yukino just became the voice of the people.

Jiggly-hands fujioshibait got so rekt he had to blow on his hair in frustration.

Rumi-Rumi is always good. And she got to play a golden haired angel.

YEA! We got to hear the season 1 OP during the Christmas event parts.

Hey I think this is the first episode where Yui was actually drawn with her Yuis. Good job Feel.

Don't really give a damn about Iroha so her manipulative mixed signals mean nothing to me.

Yukino laughing at what Komachi said was funny.

8man got his cup!

We get to see more annoying ass Haruno. whoopee.

We get to see their mom...looks like a bitch.

Ugh please let the title of next week's episode be misleading. I don't think I'll be able to deal with an entire episode dedicated to that fucking faggot worst character Hayato. I'd rather rub coarse sand paper all around the very inside of my asshole and then down a bottle of laxatives and a dozen wings smothered in scorching hot sauce and wait for the magic to happen.

Yeah why was Yukino looking so uncomfortable?

It's because
Yukino didn't want to go to the family gathering/New Years gathering thing, which is basically a social event for the Hayama and Yukinoshita family to mingle with other important families, politicans etc.
Haruno and Hayato accidentally stumble across Hachiman.
Haruno uses Hachiman being there, being near Haruno, as a way to manipulate Yukino into coming there.

Yukino is on bad terms with her mother, Haruno and Hayato.
Yukimom is a scary person and doesn't take no for an answer.
When Yukimom says: "Let's go", she means all four of them: mom, Yukino, Hayato and Haruno, are going... somewhere.. to celebrate Yukino's birthday. I'm not entirely sure what Yukimom's idea of celebrating her daughter's birthday is, apparently a business meeting where Yukino has to celebrate her birthday with a bunch of old people/politicians she doesn't care about, but Yukino gives Hachiman a desperate glance, which pretty much means: Help me, think of something to get me out of here! But Haruno quickly shoots that down.

Also, it's not like there was a lot that Hachiman could do in this situation. Him speaking out to Yukimom, a person he doesn't know who also has a high social status, would be incredibly out of place.

He then throws an angry look at Hayama. Why?

He realizes there's a serious problem with Yukino's family and Hayama knows all about it, yet does nothing about it. Also Hayama knew that Haruno was manipulating Yukino to come there, but he didn't stop her.

I get the feeling that the discrepancy in understanding stems mainly from differences in culture. I mean, I have yet to read up the LN yet and I could totally understand the innuendos and subtle reactions from the last part easily.

It helps to be raised in a tight knit Asian community overseas where the values are a mirror to those portrayed here, and having also experienced many years of the more western mentality of "I'm my own man" where familial bonds do not seem as strong, which allowed me to understand why some people are asking what they feel to be obvious solutions to the problems shown here.

That said, I enjoyed this episode immensely. The "handyman" was finally told off, and they decided to split up the work so the other StuCo would have to take responsibility for their own shit and any related fuckups. Having not read up to here in the novels, could anyone care to share what exactly it was that each side ended up doing? And whether the handyman's team got royally screwed over in the end? I mean, they only had a week to prepare everything afterall, I was still expecting some disasters to happen on their part. I'm glad Rumi gets a somewhat happier ending than the rest of our cast.

Shopping with Yui for Yukino's present was interesting, but only because of the drama that happened in the end. Yukimom's appearance was like that of an ice queen, but it didn't feel as intimidating as you would expect.

I'm now conflicted by Haruno. I used to like her a lot when the things that she did was less malicious and more just for her own amusement.
But manipulating Yukino's feelings for Hachiman to drag her out to their Matriarch, whose requests will never be denied, and trapping her into going to a "birthday party" that she neither planned nor wanted to go... with people that she neither likes nor wants to associate with..... well, it's just a bit off-putting for me. I have a feeling that she was working under their mother's orders, cause if it wasn't then that makes it that much worse for me.

Seriously what the hell is she doing it for?

Oh right, and as always Komachi is forever best gurl XD
"Onii-chan no baka! Bokenasu! Hachiman!"

Time to add Hachiman to my list of insults...

Good episode as usual. But, even if you do not read the LN, you can tell this episode is rushed. They did Iroha scene justice yet they skip the christmas event. All that meetings for the event only to fast forward them later.

In my opinion, they should have ended it with volume 9. Hachiman's monologue is perfect to end this season like he did in season 1. Then, adapt the later volume as a movie. But, I guess it's too much to ask.

Lastly, that memorandum said by four different characters gave me goosebumps.

Yukino is dependant person when it comes family problems. She is going to ask 8man's help, but scolded by Haruno. When, Yukimom said, "Lets go together", it implies that 8man and Yui to get fuck off, 8man knew it and did nothing, because he is not relevant with Yukinoshita family.

I'm afraid that Haruno inviting Yukino is to bring her to meet Yukimom.
