| SO. Checking in. Episode was a lot better than I expected after everyone was freaking out about spoilers from the pre-screens or whatever they were. Fai is up in arms over the latest whatever. Looks like Fate/Let's Fight is back in business. It was fast though. Wonder what we'll be seeing timeline-wise for the episodes now. |

 Wow fantastic episode. It just hit the ground running. I loved the beginning with Shirou explaining that he knew his path from the beginning was false, but went for it anyways. That's one of the major themes of this second half, some nice foreshadowing. And it's good to see a Shirou monologue, I'll take 'em where I can get 'em. Then Rin having the Archer flashback and diving even deeper into his character was great. The betrayal was handled really well and the pendant offered even more foreshadow. But you know what my favorite part of the episode was? The end. This was a pinnacle moment in the VN with Shirou and Rin both being thrown in the dirt and having nothing, but they find hope and comfort with each other. Beautiful moment right there. Rin x Shirou is so good man. I love how blunt Shirou is. He can be a little slow to some things, but when Shirou feels something he isn't afraid to express it lol! Even when it comes to love.  Then Rin getting flustered was cute and her accepting him and being happy he came for her was just a touching moment. Fucking nailed ufotable, you fucking nailed it!  Then animation and music was self explanatory. Fucking awesome. But where the fuck is "Present Feelings"!?!?!? It's such a good song for serious, but low key moments like the end! |

Sure, we're not going to get all the monologues and conversations, but we get all the main points. That's all that matters really. Everything else is fluff really, we don't really need it. Everything came across just fine. The pace was fine as well, if we were to include all the dialog from the VN, then this anime would be VERY slow moving, like, really fucking sow. And are you guys arguing about Shirou tripping? Jesus, what have these discussions come to? |
