English speakers not knowing the title to a Japanese movie has got nothing to do with that argument. The point of romanization is to be able to represent the same thing across different scripts. You don't convert how you say it, you convert how you read it. Kanji have multiple readings, Arabic numerals only have one representation. To change Arabic numerals to their Japanese pronunciation and then romanizing that is essentially the same as to spell them out in English instead (threetsu no kumo). If I am Japanese, I don't romanize the 3 either, if that was how it was supposed to be then it would be written as 三, not complicated. Alternatively, see these guidelines, page 17. http://www.loc.gov/catdir/cpso/romanization/japanese.pdf Years are written in Arabic numerals even when spelled out in Japanese. So when they aren't... I think you can see the bias towards using numerals vs. spelling out the numbers in most cases. All Arabic numerals on the Japanese side are kept as Arabic numerals on the romanization side (the whole thing is read right to left since it's about romanization). It makes sense. "Spelling out" numbers in Japanese is just substituting a numeral for a Kanji. If you were to romanize it "as is", it would be a clusterfuck. I can also see some logic in romanizing numerals written in Kanji. But for Arabic numerals you can see they don't even mention explicitly that they stay the same. It's just obvious. Now if for some reason MAL mods/admins want everything to be spelled out it needs to be made clear, and in that case I'd like to know if there's a good reason for that. |

While adding romance wouldn't be out of place, I don't think it's a necessary genre, since what little romance there was didn't actually amount to anything. I believe Slice of Life covers their interactions well enough, but like I said romance wouldn't be a bad genre for it per se, just unneeded. |

Perhaps, but I mean, series like http://myanimelist.net/anime/21561/ have romance when all there is some subtext so it's kinda weird that Isshuukan Friends. doesn't have it, ultimately the DB isn't flawless and bringing up examples doesn't really help as the example could be the one wrong, it's up to the mods to decide I guess. |

It would be like merging Oofuji, Masaoka or Tezuka films into one entry for their corresponding DVD compilations, it's not like it was released originally like this. I will submit new entries for the three films, so please just delete this, as almost all the information with it (stats + description) are wrong anyway. Also there are still a ton of stuff I submitted in queue and it'd be nice to know what's going on since at least part of it is quite easy to validate. For the rest, I don't know if it's being kept "on hold" or whatever but it needs to go somewhere and I haven't gotten an answer since the last time I asked for details through PMs. |
