[quote]DerpHole said:Dimitrije1606 said: There, once you have chosen your character name, you can't rename it later on just because, which leads me that if there was no one enlisted under the name of Death Gun, then his character name is different. I seriously doubt that this guy would be as stupid to give real name of his character to everyone so they can track him whenever they wanted. Ok, you play MMORPG's yeah? Once Kirito knew that this guy was deathgun once he killed pale rider on the bridge, he should've easily been able to figure out the guys name by "hovering" over him for a few seconds until the name popped up, and from there he can track him down. Death Gun popped out of literally nowhere. Kirito didn't expect him, which put im in a big surprise. We saw what his first action was. It was not to see a real name of Death Gun, it was to shoot him, so he can't kill Pale Rider. After they missed, Death Gun retreated and they checked for his name, yet they couldn't find him, which is why they went into that town in the first place. I thought that was obvious... Next, we have BoB tournament, to which your point refers to. Ok, we had him shot at a guy who after that immediately disconnected, after which his public announcement was given. First, the company which made this game is in America, not Japan. Their first interest would be of course to protect themselves. So, there is no way that they would give character account e-mails or even IP addresses, if things work on that concept in SAO world, because they are private, and company doesn't want to lose credibility. So, to get that information Japan PD would have to get a warrant, which would have to go through American embassy, to be checked by company's advocate and only then would they get a name of a person who controls that character. So, this game is a global hit basically yeah? You're saying here that the Jap PD is the only force all over the world who would have suspicions? Why couldn't the Americans get their own warrants? Because you quoted only my statement, the whole picture is lost. Why I said in the first place that they would need warrants is because the other guy said that they could just disconnect Death Gun. No, they couldn't. There was no any proof that he was cheating, and they were in a middle of a big tournament which BTW, if you all forgot, brings you real money. Lets say they disconnect Death Gun, and it turns out Pale Rider disconnected because his AmySphere malfunctioned and Death Gun was just another lucky player, and there was no valid reason why he was banned from tournament. Basically, he was denied of opportunity to earn money. How do you think that would reflect on company which made GGO? Now, company would lose credibility at something which is possibly nothing. There is no way in hell they would let that happen. That is why I said JPD needed warrants. I seriously believe that in 9 PM they could get all that done, considering that police is practically is chasing a ghost. So, there is no way for them to check out if that person is still alive or not. Now, why don't they track Death Gun instead? Well, lets say that they knew his character's name.. So, again, they would have to check his IP address by the same method as they would have to do it for Pale Rider, which again is impossible. Therefore, your previous statement is invalid. Wrong actually. If they went through the proper channels and got a warrant for Pale Riders location and established a time of death that lined up with his disconnection time, that would lend credibility to their suspicions about Death Gun. They could use that increase in credibility to get a warrant on death gun himself. Two birds with one stone. That wouldn't be very exciting though would it? Kirito has to be the hero, and all the adults have to be retards.
Yeah, if they established that time of disconnection is the same as the time of his death, they could get a warrant for investigation of Death Gun, but you are putting a carriage before the horse. There is no valid reason for them to get a warrant for Pale Rider's location in the first place. He just disconnected, that is all.
EDIT: Now, here is one more reason why they can't just arrest him.
Avatar is controlled by mind via AmySphere, right? That is a second generation of NerveGear. After NerveGear incident, not only was company which produced it in danger, but that technology as a whole. Now, lets say you have another incident with same consequences that Nerve Gear had. What do you think would happen to that revolutionary technology? Screw company, it would be doomed from returning money to all people who bought it. But what about technology itself? After second incident, people would just be to scared of it. So, they would gang up on anyone who tries to produce it, and in reverse, no company would produce it considering how no one would buy it. It might have military application, but technology itself would be pretty much damaged for several decades. So, that alone would be enough for a government to keep pressure on police to suppress all information about that incident. In return, they just can't make a raid on a guy in the middle of live broadcasting tournament. This is all conjecture. Until it's explained in a satisfactory way through the actual anime, It means nothing and I will consider it an oversight on their part. Nothing I have seen so far indicates that the developers of the virtual reality console are actively suppressing information on these incidents.
True, that last statement was a long shot, but it is still a possibility. For now, lets say it is an oversight. Still, I think my points above have more then enough weight to support my statement. |
