Probably gonna stop reading MAL discussion threads, it's just stupidity at a new level and people with so high expectations they rate it low and blame it on shizzle their favourite anime does 10x worse. "Bad animation" coming from Naruto/One Piece lovers, "Too much narration on obvious stuff" coming from the same type of fans (would you like Netero/Neferpitou to review what he/she just did as they do in every goddamn shounen - "What!? I know, I'll use this: Special Technique DOCTOR BLYTHE!!!!), and last but not least, episodes dragged too much - HOW IN THE H*** CAN YOU GUYS WATCH OTHERS 600 EPS SHOUNENS. What a load of bullshit really, it's really depressing to read.

Why did they do a full narration? I would've understand if they just narrated Neterou's past and the moment Pitou used Doctor Blythe.

The first 8 minutes didn't fucking need a narration at all. All I could think is that they are short on money that's why they were using the narration to cover the extra frames that were supposed to convey what's happening. Seriously Madhouse? Totally killed Grandpa Zoldyck and Netero's entrance.

It totally felt like reading a kids book in the first 8 minutes. Come on Madhouse this isn't a kids show. My god. If they thought that was a good way to do the episode then fuck, I didn't appreciate it. MAYBE they could use it in the other episode but why? Why the entrance of the hunters? WHY?!

Anyways I hope they stop that style next episode. The latter half was pretty cool.

Is the master of the dojo Beyond Netero? The one who bowed to Netero? I don't really remember.

When i started HxH 1 year ago the popularity rank on MAL was over #500 now it is #261 and is getting 400-800 members per day..That is a Big Number

Also each 2 weeks the rating goes 0.1 % Up

2013 was a HUGE success for the anime, We are now into 2014 and the anime is expected to get into top 10, I wish the fan base gets Bigger too.

If that happens this is the right time for togashi to start working again, because if he releases volumes the manga could get into Top 3 easy

Everyone in entitled to their own opinion . If you would have read some of my other post (I've left countless in this thread) I understand the reasoning behind the narration. I didn't say I did not like it, in fact I do like it. I just wish it wasn't so frequent, and well yes it also annoyed me this episode with the abundance of it this time. That's all. Inner monologues are fine if done correctly, maybe they shouldn't be long winded but If done right they would be fine.

It could be intense with or without the narration.....or with narration at some parts so we can experience some of the action, watch it happen and jump to conclusions and think for ourselves every now and then. thats also a form of intensity or plot device.

edit: btw you are saying its the best route solely because its the only route, its the only way its been portrayed, which means that's the only way you'll ever see it, no matter how much you try to deny that fact. I could disagree, but I wouldn't know how it would turn out without the narration as well so therefore my assumptions would be in fact only that, and I would be just as wrong in my opposition.

look i'm not trying to start another discussion here or something but i just wanna ask you something since you thought the narration was annoying and poorly executed, how are you gonna be able to watch the rest of the arc if most of them are like that? why going go thru all that seriously? because as a manga reader i can guarantee you there's still gonna be plenty of it beginning next episode, next episode is gonna have as much narration as this one, isn't it better to drop it for your own health?

What does my liking or disliking of the narration have anything to do with the originator of this series putting it in the manga/anime? those are two separate things that have absolutely nothing to do with each other. The people who exclaim "well you might as well get used to it, because the rest of the arc is like that" surely miss the point, and only say that as to replace the "get over it" mentality they have. I like it but it annoyed me this time. I can't have an opinion about the narration now?

The only basis you have for backing up your argument is that the narration is used throughout this arc frequently, so you conclude that liking the narration is the only way, but in actuality its not. I've invested in this anime, in the characters, in this story. I've watched the 1999 version as well as this version so far. Why would I drop something for the narration when I can surely tolerate it because I don't dislike it. Relax and worry about yourself. Although I am flattered you are concerned for me. So thank you!.
