| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Ah finally this is out! A nice little flashback in the beginning there although I kinda expected it there. Looks like a lot of Hanji in this OVA. That's alright since she is one of my favorite supporting characters. A nice little revisit again. I also liked seeing Mike in this OVA since he didn't make too much of an appearance in the anime. Seeing some of Levi's teammates in this was also refreshing.That's quite a notebook as well. Dem information. God damn that is a bad way to die though. Yeah, not bad definitely :3 Can't wait for the next OVA! |

| Finally!!!!!!!! Love how they expanded on the manga chapter. The info is still the same as in the manga (mind blowing), but seeing her head get exploded and the titan tearing out his eyes was too crazy. |

| It really crept me out the way the titan preserved Ilse's body. (It doesn't exist in the manga, but makes sense in its weird way). I am not sure if the 46-m kyojin lead Hanji to Ilse's memorial on purpose or upon seeing Hanji, remembered where he left Ilse and went back to her). Ilse is one of the greatest characters in the manga - being so alone, so scared, lost all her comrades, yet fought literally with a pen and a note, finding courage to run back to Wall Rose on foot and leave (basically) a legacy. As expected, Hanji is crazy about studying titans, but Ilse's story helps her form a proposal to Erwin, which he could seriously consider - as much as she loves to poke titans around, she is reckless and rather childish in the beginning to the point of endangering herself, her comrades, and the missions. Who wouldn't love her (in case they live to see another day) :D Arbitrary, the OAD has become a tribute to the new approach of fighting the titans with more understanding, than mere counter-slaughter. Tl;dr, it's the first communication recorded b/w a human and a titan and casts a light to a character, whose story we are yet to figure. Aside the animation, liked this OAD very much! A very small (special chapter 18.5) piece of the manga got attention, tied up the extended parts in the anime, and added new material. Definitely "not bad"! |

| What a great OVA, even better than the manga. I have to say I like the horror mystery feel of this series even more than I like the action. That scene with him ripping his face and then chasing after her and biting her head was awesome. If I'm not mistaken I believe the act of carving out a tree and placing in a buddhist statue was done in Japan? That could be sort of connected, he kneeled in front of it after placing her in there. I do have to wonder though how her notebook got in there or near the tree. But wow, seeing more of Hanji, especially seeing how she thinks about info was very interesting. There's the sniffing guy who we haven't seen much of, he had a good scene. |

| I'm not sure if anyone else was asking themselves, "What exactly is Ymir's significance"? But, I think I have a pretty good idea. After seeing this episode, it just adds on to what I was thinking. In my opinion, this OVA alone was more interesting than the entire series. |

| This was a prettying interesting OVA, Hanji is the same great titan informationalist as usual, but the information that Ilse has gather in her notebook was pretty interesting, seeing that Titan kneel down for Ymir was pretty strange, I wonder if it saw Ilse as Ymir considering he kneeled before her and placed her corpse in the tree. Too bad they had to kill that titan, it really would've provided with a lot of info, but at least Oluo was saved. All in all, this was a nice OVA, and I look forward to the next one. |

| Can somebody please explain this to me,HOW THE FUCK did Hanji lift Oluo? Is she superwoman? Also,its clearly implied that the titan was fighting back against his urge to devour her,they clearly are controlled by their dna modifications or something,its like seeing a chocolate bar when you are very hungry but you know you are gonna get fat,except for the skin tearing part. |

| IT WAS AMAZING!!!I watched it in English sub just a few minutes ago and I am just so happy I finally had the opportunity to watch it. Even though half of it were filters, for an explanation sake, I thought the whole thing was executed quite well. I loved how they explained more than just Ilse's death. They explained why they capture titans and how it came about. It was nice to see Levi and his squad back. I really missed them, and seeing them again was just really awesome. My love for Hanji as a character really just sky rocketed in this ova. Don't get me wrong, I always loved Hanji. She is one of my favorite characters in the whole entire series, but how they represented her here, in this ova, as a character just really made me love her a whole lot more. (Actually more than I can ever imagine!) The anime was intact with the manga when it came to Ilse's death. They executed it very well. Despite the few past episodes of the series where they weren't really following the manga, this ova just really made me gain my respect back for the anime. So basically, what I loved about the ova as a whole was: 1.It was Hanji centric and how they presented her as a character 2.Levi and his squad (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ 3.How they present Ilse's death was amazing 4.The heart touching moments and comic relief- This is my favorite reason So overall I give this ova a 10/10. I really enjoyed it and no words can't express how proud I am of the people who worked on this. Kudos to everyone involve with this ova. This was just really brilliant. (ᵔᴥᵔ) |

| I don't really post on the forums much, especially as I'm an anime-only viewer, but am I wrong in thinking that surely there should have been some action taken towards investigating Ymir? There's obviously info written about her in the notebook, so I'm confused why they didn't address that (Ymir isn't a particularly common name, I'm guessing) ... I haven't read the manga so no spoilers please, but is this just a massive plothole or is there a reason why they haven't addressed it yet? |

| OMG!!! Dat OVA was informative and spine chilling at the same time. Poor Ilse T___T. So this was the time Oluo got almost eaten and peed his pants when he told Eren this story XDD. Thanks to Ilse, Hanji can investigate the Titan. |

| It was a brooding and dark episode, even more so with the tense confrontation with the Abnormal Titan. This brings Write or Die, to a whole new level. The comedy was well placed too. The mention of Ymir really got my brain working. Next up, Season 2 please or more OVA's, anything will do. |
| I didn't like Hanji choking Auruo in an attempt to strengthen her point, but this was a great OVA otherwise. The scene with the titan burying Ilse's body is just lovely. |

| Ilse's action was stupid, agitating the titan. there was no real need to shout in the end when the Titan obviously look mentally unstable. Guess the producer just want Ilse dead. |
