This could be funny in usual circumstances, but considering what Mio has got through to make this debut happen was definetely not-funny-at-all.
And the proud nominee to the FAIL of the year goes to....

Oh yes. Because we all do love being photographed in most embarassing situations. With that pic posted later on the net, naturally. Yay, yay, so much fun.

This episode is the best episode even I’ve seen for a while. Mio’s childhood scene is so cute so is Mio, and the series is more popular and more popular because of Mio. Ritsu and Yui are funny as always, and they are awesome characters.

You do realize this is an anime, right?

I must confess here, that once upon a time, when I was watching "Grave of the Fireflies" I was feeling... kinda awkward, almost on verge of crying or something...
But now, now I know how I was wrong. Because I should mindlessly laugh it off, after all it was only anime. So, thank you once again for your precious guidance!

sarcastic, but I agree somewhat. The *snapshot* i'll admit was a little funny because it was unexpected in the silent crowd, but no part of me laughed at the poor bashful Mio as she flashed the audience. I don't understand how the writers could try to pass that off as funny, or something the viewers would enjoy :/ yet weirdly enough majority of ppl seemed to think it was hilarious O_o. Oddly, those were probably the same people who screamed "I'll marry you!!!" 20 seconds later. You would really want that happening to someone you love, even if it is anime? :P

I love how everyone takes this so seriously... K-ON! is a comedy, it's meant to make you laugh... Grave of the Fireflies is a Drama, it's telling a story, it's not meant to make you laugh... I mean seriously that comparison is shit, that's my first cent.
My second cent follows closely wherein it's a freakin' show, it's not real, so she flashes her under garments, it was comedic, i laughed, hell i was in hysterics, i mean imagine, if i was a girl and that was me, sure it's embarrasing as hell, but I'd laugh it off, and I'm sure there are others that would too, nevertheless, it's not real, it's a hilarious circumstance, and it's even funnier that it's Mio because her issue is her shyness, and after overcoming this, she just goes back to being shy... it's comedic... it's not serious, grow the hell up.

This is a show by Kyoani, people always go on at length about how stupendously perfect and funny they find the scenes, even if it might not actually be all that funny to anyone that isn't a diehard fanboy or hopping onto some trend, in this case the whole Mio fanboyism thing. I wouldn't read too much into people claiming they found it hysterical and that they were laughing for x amount of time because it's almost certainly just a form of fan to fan communication. I mean this is what....girl trips and falls flashing her panties and gets embarassed occurance #13845602346125 in the history of anime or something?

Yeah it's anime and such, but I don't see how one can find this type of scene uniquely hysterical or gut bustingly funny just because they tried to mix it up a little bit by showing a rice bowl unless you're REALLY high or piss drunk. If something is meant to be funny then I actually kind of expect it to follow through on being funny in it's own right instead of feeling forced as hell and counting on the expectation of a laugh to illicit it.

You make many good points in your discussion. And while it holds true and I agree with you, I personally just don't feel that people should have such a rant over how "wrong" or whatever the scene is. It's not the fact that this scene happens, It's the people who respond retard with a baselss argument that annoy me.

It was a pretty funny episode, imo. Both Ritsu and Mio were a total big hit in this episode; poor Mio for that pantsu shot though. :P I honestly think that they're making Mio look even more moe than she already is.

The music video thing is ridiculously funny and nice but it could've been better if it was the live itself. X3

I personally didn't laugh until the camera went off, that was just perfect execution and definitely something I've never seen before. Without the camera your point would be valid though.

No, it's perfect example. Both are anime. Repeat after me: both are anime, now you can choose - either you say "hey, it's not real, who gives a s*it about that" or "I'm watching that stuff, I kinda like to do it, I like to comment it and I'm not acting as if I don't care only when it's convinient for me - because if that's the case, then what am I doing in this thread anyway?"

Well I'll say this, some people have different standards for humour so what most people find ridiculously funny I often find slightly chuckle inducing. Likewise much of what I find hilarious would probably go over most people's heads as not funny. There is no right and wrong when it comes to production though, just what is likely to score points with a broad demographic.

Aye good eye.

Oddly enough, whenever an anime is a Kyoani production, there's always a trend of excessive flamefests. But I suppose, there will always be people who mindlessly adore it, and some who mindlessly hate it. All I can say is, what a studio... I can think of at least two other studios that can bring about such passion; be it good or bad attention.

While I don't take K-ON! as the funniest thing ever, it's still rather funny. I don't knw about the Pantsu scene though, but I do enjoy the arguments such a scene seems to stir up.

Ahmagawd, I came. I totally fell in love with their concert song. Mio sings so damn good. I was suprised, lol. Also, when they were singing it, I can hear Yui's voice, rofl. That cute squeeky voice. <3

Also, in the end, that sure was embarassing. Poor Mio. Everyone saw her striped pantsu. D: But seriously, that song was good. +10,000 for Mio. Now I want to see Yui sing.

Guys, anyone know the title of the song, played when Mio was in the haunted house? you can download it here, 328kB,ogg. It's not on the OST cd, so I suspect, that its maybe a "classical", or adapted from something else. Please send a PM, if you know it, thanks in advance.
