I, Like others here can't see this as being aimed at women any more... maybe for the ones who like to be in her position.... But I don't know any like that.
I sure as hell am not.
I feel for her, but she seriously is not trying hard enough to get out. She should be tring every waking hour, refusing to eat, not sleeping until she's too exhausted NOT to.
I mean, seriously- if she's worried about the situation with her father- she's not gonna get an answer there.... so no reason to not be obsessive about escaping.
I can't really like any of the guys much. And their not even good looking enough to be eye candy for me.
Their heads look too big for their bodies (All of the brothers) the best looking guy in this is the one seeking into the mansion.
Someone mentioned that this should be a hentai- I agree, it's demeaning/disrespectful enough in every way possible way that they could be to women.
Their strange looks aside(I don't even get good looking bishis to look at while their tormenting the poor girl<-- That's my opinion.... no one flame me for it- everyone's expressing theirs here)....
The way they all talk is annoying (The one with the manners and the glasses (Sorry too many names to remember at once and their not all said often enough) is ok, and the one with the headphones seems to speak somewhat normally)... Subaru seemed too rude, but he hasn't spoken enough to be sure.
I was overlooking Ratio(sp?)'s "Bitch-Chan" because he's one of the better looking of the boys- and because aside from that he seemed somewhat nice/cool.... but he's just drooped down to the "Shit-List" I have for anime characters, right along side Kanato & Teddy.... seriously, the list isn't too big- but there are a lot of asses on that list- and no way to dispose of them so I won't ever have to think about them again >_> Annoying.
Ayato(SP?) is semi-ok for me.
But it's not like he was affectionate towards her.... so why do people seem to think he'd come save her? Yeah, he saved her from drowning- but that's partially because if he broke their toy, his brothers' would probably hurt or kill him.
If these guys have mental scarring due to events in their past, then I feel for them. But really. That's no excuse for what any of them are doing. I hate most of them.
It's rare that I would stick with an anime where I hate about 80-85% of the cast(There are a few who I don't like or hate- otherwise it would be about 95% that I hate >_>).
Like a lot of viewers, I think it's like passing a train wreck and not being able to stop looking- otherwise more people might be dropping it.
I would be one too- but in my case, I'm staying because I want to know what will happen to her, will she escape. The least they could do is give her a friend at school who she can confide in.
The girl has no one and almost nothing to keep her sane.
As for this episode- like other users, I found it disturbing and degrading in so many ways.
Why?
#1: Teddy and the 2 creepy-brothers
#2: Suggested rape
#3: Her weak attempts to escape.... she really needs to do more about that >_>
#4: I swear Kanato sent her to the roof knowing his brother was there..... That brings me too
#5: Who the hell was Raito talking to on the damn roof?
#6: Stupid girl! When your on the street- in public, and being chased, Start screaming bloody murder, call for help! Make a fuss.... why the hell is she
not trying to escape more? If she's really as frightened as she's suppose to me, just quietly asking them to let her go, is stupid. Scream.
Especially when in a public area.
I agree with others' she's at times smart and courageous, however the fact that she's not doing enough to try and get away, not frantic enough is dumb.
On top of that- she waits to actually start screaming and calling for help ONLY when the 2 of them are alone in a church. Should have done that when they were on a public street.
Also, I agree, her ability to hold on to her faith is admirable. However, that won't do her any good if these guys make her live in hell.
I'm not an atheist.
That's the complete absence in any beliefs/faith (From what I understand anyway). I have a bit of a mix of beliefs from several religions.... I understand her reasons for praying, but I think she's seriously beyond any kind of heavenly miracle saving her.
Especially if the church is using her as a sacrifice of sorts.

She has been treated like food since episode 1, there was never any respect to begin with.
I think that nanamisamaa meant about the scene being in the church.
I'm not overtly devoted to any religion, however, I found that their location for that scene was disrespectful, but it probably isn't the first and likely won't be the last.
Anyway- I could be wrong about what the user meant.
It's the only thing that made sense, since that's the only thing new this episode. Other than that, yeah, they've been treating her like food from #1.... actually, I think they've been treating her WORSE than food.
I also happen to think the cross being covered with (Wine or blood (which was it?) wine would actually be more acceptable than blood though for most people I think) in the opening is disrespectful as well.... but that may just be me. |
