No, I'm 24, and whenever I come back home, I put some anime in front of my parents, and they don't give a shit.

No. I'm more embarrassed when I watch anime alone in my room and they hear me laughing (they think I'm becoming crazy).

If I watch something like Oreimo when my parents come in, I change to Death Note and let it keep playing.

Depends on the anime. But generally, no one walks in on me because I don't let it happen.

I watched Yosuga no Sora with my immediate family, and we all had a rip roaring good time.

This basically sums up what I do when watching anime. Anytime a family member comes to me while I'm watching anime I'll just pause it and wait till they leave while doing random stuff. In general I do sometimes get embarrassed depending on what I'm watching.

Yeah, same goes for me. Guess its because I'm the only anime-craze in my family.

It depends on what I'm watching, I usually pause it anyway when someone comes in out of respect since they usually come in to ask something.

I live alone. I have a roommate but I don't care. Not emberassing, definitely not. If you're embarassed you should stop watching stuff you feel embarassed about, or stop feeling embarassed about the stuff you watch. It gives the impression of low self-respect/-esteem.
I probably regret this post by now.

eh well they walk into my room while I'm watching pretty often, I don't really mind but it's a bit awkward if they start hanging over my shoulder and pretend to be interested

Not so much embarrassing as it is bothersome. One of my parents walking in on me watching ecchi or listening to OP/EDs is just going to lead to pointless and fruitless discussions that lead to wasting my watching time.

I wouldn't say embarrassing, but it can be awkward sometimes.

What I actually dislike, however, is when someone is watching an anime with me and they feel the need to criticize almost every single thing about it.

No. My parents don't give a damn about it. My pc station is in the way and people pass behind my back every 2 minutes. If I had to stop everytime, it would take me an hour to watch an episode. Not that I care about it anyway.
Well, actually my mother watched some Gintama episodes on tv with me. And yesterday she watched the first episode of Psycho Pass too... and she said she wants to see the whole series xD. She also helps me when I'm in trouble sewing the costumes of my cosplay. My family just doesn't care at all xD they're really open minded, actually.

Why the fuck would you watch anime in front of your parents? That's downright rude. If I want to watch anime (a solitary activity) I go to a separate room.

My bedroom door is situated so that if one stands in the doorway, one could see the monitor. In light of this, I sit at my desk, door open and sing along to any and all songs. I even speak along with any parts I've seen before or remember.

I voted no.

but it bothers me when someone's in the same room while I'm watching anything tbh (unless we're watching it together)

Only anime craze in my family and I honestly don't give a fuck. My mother will sometimes come in and scold me for not studying enough, but who cares about studying anyway? Hell, I even watched Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai (yeah, the erotic wrestling anime) with the speakers pretty loud. Pretty sure they heard quite a fair few moans.

It doesn't embarrass me, but rather it pisses me off. My mother just comes in and lectures me about wasting my time, though I can't really argue with her.. I just tell her I'm watching something deeply philosophical.
Funny. I was watching Gurren Lagann at the time.

Well, I don't like to watch or read anything in front of anyone else.

It is slightly embarrassing, I'll admit. And I'd at least minimize VLC before getting up to do something if the image is, awkward. But my door stays locked when I'm in, so this isn't a large issue.

Why would you watch TV in general in front of your parents? Why would you eat in front of your parents? Why would you BREATHE in front of your parents?

Kids today are so rude.

IT IS VERY EMBARASSING. Everytime a family member gets into my room, I instantly roar, jump at my computer covering the screen and yell "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

It can be embarrassing to watch most anime with other people around. There are some things that aren't too embarrassing to watch with others, like Redline or Cowbow Bebop, but other than shows like that, its more comfortable to watch anime alone.

I don't really mind watching anime in-front of my family... (it's not like I'm watching porn or any sort of that kind of thing.) surprisingly, my kids would gladly to join in and watch with me. it's like our little bonding moment...

I don't mind watching anime in front of them as long as their is nothing inappropriate. But I mostly watch with headphones on so it doesn't matter much.

It's not really embarrassing. I do tend to prefer to watch tv in general alone because my family INSISTS on interrupting or talking to me, which can be especially annoying when watching anime since I'm already dividing my attention between watching the action and reading the subtitles.

Give that guy a medal. I'm 18 my parents don't care if I'm watching hentia. Though when I'm watching something in Japanese I get a weird look the few times my dad walks into my room. Good thing I'm moving out after I graduate.

Depends on the anime.

My mother always asks me why I'm not watching it in English though when she sees me watching it on the computer.

What's embarrassing is being embarrassed for doing something you like in front of other people.

I always watch anime in my room always. I do not like being disturbed while i am watching. Only thing i would feel weird about is if my family happens to walk in on me while there is an ecchi like part playing.
I swear family always walks in when something intimate happens just to purposely embarrass you.

Well my family know I'm an anime fan, they don't really have any issues with me watching it to be fair. Then again depending on the anime I may have to switch or pause if some crazy s* going on in it just so they think I'm a little less crazy myself ;o If it seems I'm going to be disturbed though I'll just pause since it's annoying for me.

most of the time yes.as much i would like to say no,i can't.People really are ignorant about anime and get the wrong idea. However i don't consider talking about animes such as Death note,Shingeki no kyojin or Angel beats all that embarassing.

I say yes

reason 1: there is either a perverted scene or a sex scene about to happen and you know it will happen
reason 2: they can get pretty nosy sometimes.

so i just pause temporary.
