Wow the production values are great.... but why did they have to waste them on this? I'm not even sure what to think about it.... loli fighting show? Are these a thing now? Main chars voice annoys me... I should probly drop this but I'll give it another 2 eps. Also how the hell is she even able to lift that shovel/spade with that tiny body... Look at me trying to incorporate logic into anime... Yeah production values were great but this.... yeah. Also is it just or does the MC has a scent/sweat fetish >_> 4/10

I think the setup is decently interesting, but I feel like they definitely could've spread the events of the episode out over the course of two episodes so that things could develop out more naturally. Nonetheless, I really like the art and the ambiance. In general, I just don't really know how I feel about the show yet, since I have no idea where it's going next, but I'm definitely willing to stick with it for a few more episodes to see how it shapes up.

It's great fun to see all the wrong assumptions about this show :D
Well they messed up a few things, a let out something really important that makes her more naive than she is in the manga. But well, later it will be good entertainment to watch the two of them together.

Same here lmao.

Anyway I was looking forward to this one right after I saw the first PV, and first episode was pretty ok, still it's kinda f'd up to see a little 12 y. o girl digging graves and burying people.

Will continue watching.

Great first episode. I may need to wait for the TV version to air. The art is too beautiful to be watched in a 360p stream.

That was a rather underwhelming first episode.

I'll continue watching this for at least 2-3 more eps, but this was way too rushed. At least give us some time to get to know the setting before you dive into this? This is a mistake the Horizon anime made as well...

I just don't know how you can decide to animate 6-7 chapters of a manga (or one fourth of a novel) into a 20-minute episode. It just doesn't work.
Then again they COULD fix that with flashbacks next week.

Even not having read the manga before having watched this (looked it up afterwards) it was just apparent that they rushed this.

So yeah, 3 out of 5.

Hm pretty interesting world the series sets up and I enjoyed seeing it through the perspective of the young protagonist Ai

I'm trying to wrap my brain around what would make a village lie to convince her she was a grave keeper. Lots of intrigue

alright/10

From what I've seen, it doesn't look like a big step up from the manga (which I found bad because it was so cluttered with plot holes and things never cleared up). I'm hoping this adaptation is going to stick to the LN more (assuming they were good and coherent because they got an adaptation, lol). Will watch for a few more weeks, but overall, I'm not really impressed.

Well, everyone who read the manga seems to be unimpressed, but I really liked it. The animation and OST were really nice in my opinion, and the story is interesting. Also, Hampnie seems like a really interesting character. Will continue to watch!

The whole deal about grave keepers putting people's uneasy memories to rest actually remind me of Final Fantasy X, so I absorbed most of the info rather easily.
Anyway, this looks like a very interesting story, with a great OST and animation. Will definitely keep watching.
Also Hampnie is a dick. A very cool-looking dick.

White hair blew off of their heads and they stopped moving or functioning except for the one guy who had half of his brain/head still there so he was somewhat able to move and talk. If the townspeople were undead then they would have eaten Ai instead of fill her with sweets. So without a brain you cannot control your body/limbs/talk/ect, the one guy had partial so he was able to somewhat move correctly and showed emotions(became self conscious when Ai was like "uhhh, half your head ^^;") so I am guessing the only way to die is to be buried because Ai said"I dug 47 graves after my mother died but no on died." Ai has the same shovel as the "real grave keeper" so I believe she is a real one or has some ties. And she said she liked Hana's natural smell which the white hair guy is looking for so I think that might have some significance? I liked it because it is something new and I want my questions answered.

It was okay.

I have yet to find a real connection to this setting or characters and nothing really has grabbed me so far. I don't really like Ai, she's cute sometimes and annoying other times. HH, the silver haired toy, is annoying as heck and has NOT made a good impression on me. I don't really get what the plot will be either, is this a zombie series? Vampires? What are our MCs supposed to be doing? Why did HH kill the entire village?

Well, this series has started off with a "pop" rather than a bang. It's pretty and has potential I guess. I will continue by 3-episode trial and see if this show is gets better.

I give this premiere episode a 7/10.

loli abuse = awesome. seriously we need more series that knock loli's around as a form of lighthearted entertainment.

The way they managed to omit huge amounts of source material here probably makes even the manga adaptation seem a more faithful and viable option.

I understand they'd want to rush through part of the prefatory elements which on the long run may not count, but they also skipped a few important hints on Ai's past. Her relationship with the villagers and notably the couple who are supposed to be her foster parents couldn't possibly have been more dumbed down too.

Pretty counterintuitive to hurry to the 'good stuff' if you can't build the necessary momentum first.

i'm actually surprised to see that most of you guys haven't really liked/enjoyed it. i expected the opposite.

well, i thought it was pretty interesting. it didn't feel rushed to me (but i haven't read the manga, so i'm just judging from what i saw). i'm not a big fan of lolis, but as long as this little girl doesn't turn into a crybaby who needs to get protected by that white-haired guy all the time i can live with it. speaking of that guy: he seemed pretty cool. i liked his style (white hair, red eyes, dark clothes, guns).
i'm interested in that show. i'm not hyped, not at all, but interested.

reminds me of dansai bunri no crime edge from last season btw. i guess it's the darkness/loli mix.

Well I would say that the fantasy world got the mood quite fine. And Toyosaki Aki's voice acting is superb !
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

A first episode at least convincing, beautiful animation and likable characters. But I confess I do not know how this plot can unfold at most hopefully a drama mixed with fantasy, and not go pro Dansai Bunri course of creating a universe battle shounen l:

Anime look totally stupid and pretentious compare to manga

staff probably thinking that they're making Rokyu-bu or Milky Homes that's not what this story should be look like. I feel like watching anime for kids under 10 yrs. The story should be more cruel and dark
Another terrible anime that waste good material, although the animation is good.

I think you have the wrong impression of Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi. It is not a novel that is dark and with thriller. I have not read the manga adoption, but from the links that you provide, they do not look like the impression I have from the novel.

1) Scar's (the real gravekeeper at the end of the episode) illustration looks like this in the novel.
Not to mention that gravekeepers are ALWAYS smiling.

2) If you were expecting gore, I have to say, this is not the right anime. The story is definitely not cruel and dark.

not particularly sure i agree with that either. its not entirely dark but it has its moments. its not a light hearted kind of story either so, i wouldn't expect sunshine and smiles. the theme of the story is actually a bit tragic.
