| Depends on the anime and my position within it. For something like Higurashi, Death Note, or Code Geass, I'd love to be one of the main characters. To be held captive within the grasp of time, amidst a world full or murders and conspiracies, as well as the possibility of death. Because who wouldn't enjoy the thrill, right? But for slow paced, slice of lifey stuff like Lucky Star or Hidamari Sketch, I'd have to say no. I mean, don't we kind of already live in that world anyway? We live our normal lives, whatever. Sure, it'd be kind of hot if every girl around me were as mother fucking goddamned cute as Karen or Alice, and seemingly every girl that I stalked the daily lives of would be attracted to other females, albeit shyly, secretly, and oh-so-cutely, but would that be worth throwing away a world full of action, a world full of opportunity, a world full of life...a world that we can truly live in? Unbeknownst to us, such a scenario is currently unfolding. Unto our eyes fall the very concept of simplicity, though we do not see anything but that which we wish to, ultimately resulting in gratification of the unresolved mind. Should mortal life be so restricted and unprovoked? Shall we take a stand against death so that, in doing so, we may truly live?! Can we not change this world as we see fit? A few years ago in the midst of searching for someone who could so answer, I entered a seemingly abandoned classroom and found a hastily written questionnaire lying on the table. It asked basic questions: height, eye color, and so on. But the final question stunned me: "What do you wish to change?" How do you answer such a question? Myself, the World, or can I not answer it? As a consequence thereof of the answer I transcribed that day, I can say now to all those who look upon this message of hope: the Earth is dying. We humans are destroying the environment and ultimately ourselves. So let me ask again: would you change yourself...or the world? If you answered with the latter, then join me in eternal life as we seek the Key to our futures... If you answered otherwise, then we shall never meet again as you depart upon your world of flames and tulips. |

Something like Yugioh seems harmless enough and would certainly get me back into it (despite the rules flying 90 different directions from basic) but then you get into the serious stuff of demons and such......then I have to ask, do the "anime" characters look the same or would they appear the same as us? |
