| Because in my country, Sunday morning was when they show all kinds of kids' animes and that was when I started watching anime for the first time. I should've grew out of it like almost every other child did, but after the first time I marathoned a series (which feels indescribably great, by the way), I decided to stay watching anime. I didn't care about what society said about 'cartoons are for kids' while the fact is: 1). It's called anime not cartoon and 2). not all animes are for kids. |

| I went to watch avatar: the last air bender finale online because i didn't want to wait 2 week's for it to air on nickelodeon(i think), then seen naruto in the related section of whatever site i was using. Watched it out of curiosity, then death note/elfen lied and discovered what anime is actually pretty good and felt like a dick for bagging my mate out for it over the years haha. |

I started watching about five months ago after starting to read manga, which I did because I had just gotten a tablet and I thought I'd give manga a try. I spent about a month or two just reading a shitload of manga, and then I realized that I might want to try an anime or two. I did, I loved it, and that's how I started. |

| Don't remember if I posted already, sorry. -- I can't remember precisely how I got into anime, but it was influenced by something. It was when my friend asked me if I had seen a certain anime series, and I looked it up online. I don't remember it being interesting much at all, but it was a while ago, so it may have been so interesting (probably with the language and the different art style than cartoons here in America). I feel horrible and it bothers me greatly that I don't remember exactly how I got into it.. |

| hmmm when I was little I collected (well I didn't have much :L ) Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh cards. Plus I watched Mew Mew Power (Tokyo Mew Mew) on TV sometimes. But really it started with this app-thingie on the dsi called Flipnote Hatena. I remember finding an popular user on there who drew anime, and that made me want to draw anime too ... and drawing anime got me to watching anime :3 (now I don't draw as much but my drawing skills improved greatly and it got me to take Art as one of my GCSE subjects) EDIT: TYPO |
| Like many others, I watched Pokemon, Dragonball Z, and the like as a kid. By middle school I'd lost interest in them. A friend I met in my senior year of high school is an anime fan, and he told me to check some out, so I started watching Trinity Blood, but couldn't get into the whole anime style. Later on, I watched Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann at the insistence of said friend and some facebook pages. I loved it, and since then I've been slowly exploring more. It's not really a primary interest of mine, but I've been getting into it more. |
| My mother got me into it (she's Japanese and wanted me to start learning the language, or something along those lines) and she convinced me to watch some Death Note. Anime weirded me out at first and I found it genuinely odd, but after a few months I watched the whole thing from the start, and so began my interest for anime. |

| Pokemon, One Piece, Zatch Bell, and the like when I was young... but, to understand it for the first time (besides my casual Pokemon life), it was earlier-mid 2009. I made (suckish) avatars on a kid's site, and one person asked me to find pictures of Ouran High School Host Club, and I asked them what that was. I had to look up the pictures, and coupled with their explanations, I was welcomed into the anime world. Been three years sense! |

| My best friend was obssesed with Naruto than got me obsessed too and than we got obsessed with anime I remember an anime channel so i watched all the ones on TV like Naruto, Card Captor Sakura, Sailor Moon, Zatch Bell, Tokyo Mew Mew etc We kinda stoped watching it for a few years and i dont remember why but than i got back into anime around last year And i forgot to mention POKEMON loved it forever and i will never stop loving it~ |

But I really got into watching anime 2 years ago after watching bleach and one piece on an anime site for the first time. After that I stared watching all kinds of anime like harem, supernatural, action etc. I'm guessing I am not the only one ^_^ |
| my first real exposure to anime watching episodes of DBZ on a tiny tv vcr combo in the back of a kay bee toys when i worked there for a couple summers unloading stock. let on to my manager it was super boring in the stock room (even though i should had been working..the mall was dying and we both were like "meh"). so he goes to his car, floored ive never heard of or seen dragon ball z. cued up Cooler's Revenge.. was floored. then kinda fell off the whole anime thing for a while (girls/cars/drugs ect) then got a job where i pretty much sat for eight hours in the middle of the night. nothing else on but adult swim. lol back when they had the swimming pool bumps. how i ended up here (MAL), crossed paths with someone on a anime channel on a file sharing client. she suggested i pop in to cure my vast ignorance of anime lol. |

| It all started with Naruto but if we're being technical the first anime I remember is Sailor Moon and DBZ, but back to the point I started watching Naruto back in 05-06 on Toonami and I was obsessed my friends and I would look up Naruto amvs on Youtube of Rock Lee and Gaara and through Naurto I discovered what anime was and where it came from. |
