I LOVED how Tsunemori just laughed off Kagari's question. I thought she was going to be such a boring and dull wide eyed character police type girl that you usually see in anime, but she becomes more and more interesting as the story progresses. As for the story, it's kind of very Isaac Asimov, which is great!

Random thoughts:

The really horrifying thing is there are indeed urban myth about people getting killed and made into plastinated bodies.....

And I also wonder if all the mentions of PLASTIC in the OP song is a reference to this....

And the environment in the girls school is so much from a classic Japanese horror stories - the building seems to be from pre-war period and the uniform and character design so old-school...

Interesting to know that wine is now only consumed by limited number of people...as well as the revelation that Ginoza may become so insistent on the monitor officer's proper role because of what happened to his father.

And then on top of the Shakespeare references (it is tough reading through Titus Andronicus with all those extreme violence, rape, mutilation, torture and cannibalism), we even have the Kami nomizo shiru 神のみぞ知る reference...

I also like how they link back up all the different crimes they solved to a main plot, the memory card to overrule safety measure for the drone killers, the avatars/holograph-cracking for the killers lurking in social network, the resin used for plastination of bodies.

And the funniest moment is from Shion "I can bet the bra that I'm wearing!"

I also like Ma'aya Sakamoto voicing Rikako.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

I praise the artistic choice in this series of using suggestion or artful representation to replace full-out gore, be it the tomato in mixer or the statue. It retains the horror and power to shock but uses "beautiful images" instead.

True. 0____0 It was a find piece of art.

Anyway, there's less action in this episode it seem. A bit of a disappointment for me. Gonna give it a 3. (Also, the moment they talk about the girl eyes looking through another dimension, it's very predictable that she's a major psycopath. Originally, I thought she would be the victim.)

Not a fan of this episode. It took me four attempts to sit through the excessive exposition. As such, I'm pretty confident that I missed some key moments. I'll have to watch it again before next week's episode.

There is some difference between that drawing and the statue though. In the drawing it is one person sitting on the shoulder of another person, but that statue has one person flipped upside down on top of another person and apparently merged with it and there is only one head which is not really located at where a head should be in the body amalgamation. If anything, I think the statue is sicker and more scary (and let's not forget in terms of sheer size the statue would be much larger than the drawing too).

Yes I think the statue at the end represents a rape, It is represented beautifully but the fact that we know it's made up of a dead girl make it horrible witch is a strong message:
Rape can seem beautiful (... for some) but it is a horrible thing.

I liked how they showed us how narrow the path is for the inspector to walking on. Many things also get connected and answered ( like shinya's past )and you see that the job of inspector is starting to get heavy on Akane. I liked also the high school scenes. At first I wasn't too sure about them but as it went along it made the perfect sense in the plot of the mastermind criminal and give a troubling example on how the "perfect" system fails and is exploited.

I think this ep was awesome and I'm pretty sure it's just getting started

All right, even the one-off episodes were connected! Which means the buildup to the grand finale will be that much more awesome.

Lesbian murder girl is seriously creepy though. I can almost imagine an art piece in real life looking like that (minus the human flesh part, anyway). I'm looking forward to her non-philosophical rationale for murdering.

I wonder if Masaoka is Gino's father, who was mentioned this episode? I know it sounds outlandish, but i've been getting the father-son vibes from them since episode 3, when Gino had his little tantrum. He sounded so much like an exasperated child, who has been getting the same lecture for years. And I find it pretty strange that Gino, who seems so collected and professional would insult a coworker like that ( i mean "trash" was kinda harsh), if he didn't feel personally affected/insulted/ashamed of Masaoka.

Do you notice that Gino NEVER teams up with either Kougami or Masaoka? He must be running away :)

That was a fantastic episode, love how the the plot is progressing and developing. The human sculpture looks sick and beautiful at the same time. I am intrigued by Shakespearian references; looks like we'll have a 3 episodes arc, as the names of the episodes 6-7-8 are pointing towards "Hamlet". Can't wait to see more...

That's my theory as well since episode 3. Masaoka's reaction, Masaoka calling Ginoza "Nobuchika" when talking to Akane and Kagari's reaction kinda seemed to imply that... but who knows...

Ginoza did team up with Kougami in episode 3 (Ginoza+Kougami+Kunizuka) and they were together in episode 4 (Akane+Ginoza+Kougami+Kagari) - he doesn't avoid him completely. He does avoid Masaoka, though. But yeah, he mostly prefers Kagari and Kunizuka...

Great episode!!! Gen Uroboshi is doing an amazing job with this series. We got a little bit of Kogami's background. We also got character development. I like Akane's interaction with the enforcers; That is also revealing us more of her character.
The comparison between Kogami and Akane - as pointed out before in eralier posts - foreshadows Akane's development. She looks pretty serious and tough in the OP, so she'll definitely surprise us in the future.
The plot is also starting to unravel. All this cases are part of one big case.
The new villain - Oryou? - sure is something. She's the kind of person that everyone looks up to, but that has a darker secret....sees things differently....a sociopath maybe. It'll be interesting to see what goes on on her head.

As soon as the old woman said "Don't make the same mistake as your father", I thought inmediately of Masaoka. After all, becoming an enforcer is kind of a shameful think to them. Kogami was demoted of his posotion and became an enforcer. Plus, they are considered "trash".

It seems that the criminals are just getting more and more twisted, that art was just messed up and creepy. And also, that Makishima guy is just plain fcked up, he helps people kill, which in the end screws them over, and also he does it just for kicks.

I so agree on the psycho part, and I'm pretty sure the statue at the end was the girl who was messaging in the beginning, the other one will probably show up as some other sort of twisted art.

Excelletn episode. We get a lot more background info and confirmation that all the crimes we've seen are related and Psycho Pass is just not doing a villain of the week thing.

I get the feeling that the villain (forgot his name) is kind of a modern day Moriarty, who has as his ultimate goal to undermine the entire Sybil system.

I actually think that sempai was very stupid in asking the girl she killed in public to join the art club. It might have been to lure the victims friend into a trap, but it can backfire because it makes it appear that the sempai was behind it. It's possible the one behind her actions had her do that to draw attention to his/her existence.

This show continues to impress me more and more with every episode. I knew from the moment that Titus Andronicus that the crime was going to be sick and twisted. It's interesting how we went from the high technology themes of the last episodes to a more isolated girl's school which feels like a much more familiar setting which makes the gruesome murder all the more unsettling. I'm interested to see where this is going. The criminal here is very interesting and her "art" seems very similar to the criminal that killed the enforcer that Kougami was friends with. The anime is not afraid to deal with the darkest aspects of humanity. In fact it revels in them and illuminates them in interesting ways.

I also like the way it's paralleling Kougami and Akane. Their experiences have been very similar and it's pretty obvious if she keeps heading down this current path she could very well end up like Kougami. It was interesting because before the last episode I would have pegged the almost feral hunter instincts of Kougami as someone that was a latent criminal since childhood, but it's not like that at all. It just shows how long term exposure and leaving yourself open can really cloud your psyche even if you're strong willed. This is not a society where the people are conditioned toward empathy. Empathy, especially empathy with the wrong people can lead you down a path of destruction.

I like how this show takes familiar concepts of today and rearranges them in interesting ways to update them for the future. It's what a good anime set in the future should do, especially one that deals with moral and ethical issues like this one. Morals, ethics and societal standards have all changed with the introduction of the Sybil system and this show does a good job of dealing with and developing these issues. At the same time there is a dark undertone here, because this is a big brother state and it's been pretty heavily suggested there is a lot of corruption in this society where everyone's lives are determined by an advanced AI. A society where bullying is a sanctioned form of stress relief and the internet is the only place where you have any true freedom to express yourself and let off steam.

I'm glad they brought up in this episode that the criminals from before were working with some more advanced criminals. It's more interesting for them to be going up against someone equipped to actually counter all the technology the investigators and enforcers have at their disposal. And it looks like that conspiracy is going to form the overarching plot of the series.
