Yay! Lamplight at the end! One of my favourite sountracks :D Also I reckon they adapted this episode quite well and I'm definitely awaiting next week! I'm loving how they had the whole theme of friendship integrated here :) |

Awesome! Kud is just so adorable in this episode! Got to love the Engrish parts! I also love how they used the unused OST in the picture book scene. Absolutely amazing piece. Lamplight is also a wonderful piece. I just hope they play Town of Incessant Rain on the next ep. What I'm anticipating for the next episode was the date scene; that's when floodgates will open. |

It's amazing enough for me to the point I don't need to look for anything else in it! And we are just in episode 4! Maeda Jun and his way of spreading happiness. He is so Amazing. #Respect. 5/5 |

I think it's pretty obvious who Kojirou is, I mean he's old. what else can he be? |

Great episode. I loved Haruka's "I'm irresistible" face and when Kengo walked away and didn't enter the classroom when Haruka and Masato were fooling around, lol. Kud's Engrish was hilarious too. Komari's route is finally starting, can't wait for episode 5. |

jasque said: Sa-chan_ said: cxu said: I doubt they're ACTUALLY cramming this into 24 episodes though. If Komari's route ends at ep 6, she will have 3 episodes dedicated to her character If everyone got the same treatment, that's another 12 episodes, and we're at 18. Common route isn't even finished yet, so add atleast 3 more episodes for that, and we're at 21. Then you have 3 eps for Rin2 and Refrain? I doubt it, really. And that's if every character have 3 episodes for their routes. Some could get more for all I know, so my guess is that they're doing Rin2 + Refrain in a separate, 13 episode season. Oh, and they could end this season with Rin1 or Kurugaya end I guess. Actually, if they don't split this into 2 seasons, I'm gonna kill a kittie. Edit: Adding periods, lol. Maybe it's just Komari's path in the game is really that short? LOL. Anyway, if Haruka's arc is just 3 episodes also yet Haruka's path is longer(Probably the longest) than Komari's in the VN, JC Staff should quit adapting any Visual Novels. Add Sasami route to these 26 eps... It really need some more eps, otherwise it 's suicide. At least the anime script writer must know that. I hope they can make more eps... When it comes to a serious adaption, J.C. is usually good about giving it another season. If you look at their past works like SnS, ZnT, and Bakuman, they have been pretty good about giving it a proper amount of time to tell their stories right. It would be horrible if they did try to shove everything (especially with Sasasegawa's route being implemented). I have a really great hunch that Little Busters will get another season. |

This was the best episode of them all. Worries me though on how much they are changing it. One thing I've noticed is that Riki is a lot more determined in the anime than in the visual novel, which for everyone who played the VN will know why that's... not correct. Also I'm wondering if they'll even mention Komari's mental breakdown[/spoiler, since it happened (I think, been two months) before the shooting stars. Not enough Kud either. All in all I think the series is finally getting more interesting, and I love it. Having all the Little Busters! show up to the retirement center was different but not bad, I just hope they fix Riki's personality (it's the biggest problem to me, which isn't that big of a problem). I wish this was airing twice a week. Or like they used to do with DBZ on Toonami - new episodes every day ='( |

Finally getting around to watching it. Here's my thoughts as I watch it: -Damn Kud is small. Also, her Engrish is as cringe-worthy as I was expecting, I'm glad there were subtitles, because there is no way I would be able to understand her attempts at the English language otherwise. I kept picking up her saying 'desu', I guess that's her thing in the anime now? -Still frames! Argh! NO! STOP DOING THAT JC STAFF! They don't look good no matter what you do! -YES! MORE HARUKA! -Oh thank god, Komari is sleeping, maybe this means we won't have to hear her horrible voice this epi- damnit. -Wow, the repeating hen story. I didn't even know its significance when I first played the game. I didn't realize that it was foreshadowing what was really going on in the world, and what the inevitable result would be. -I can't help but notice all the fish faces, when the mouths appear on only one side of the face. It's beginning to become kind of distracting. -I'm glad they're doing something different for the route. Everyone going is a nice change, and I like to see the small changes. Except there are MORE STILL FRAMES! Argh! -The old man screaming is not NEARLY as funny as it was in the game. And Komari screaming and running away when he yells at her isn't nearly as funny either. Damn, they really dropped the ball on that one. I had to stop playing the game when that happened cause I was laughing so hard. Overall it was an ok episode. The animation felt really poor though, and their over reliance on still frames is starting to get on my nerves. Kud wasn't as annoying as I feared either, so that's good. I just hope Haruka shows up more, she has barely gotten any screen time. |

NOW this was a serious episode that could be matched up to the likes of Clannad. It's full of content, character development, and there are even changes to the storylines that actually work! What I'm referring to for the last point is of course the inclusion of all the Little Busters team in the helping out of the community service. Yeah, some of the scenes were a ittle awkward, but it's nice to see they emphasize the franchise's theme of friendship with this series of scenes. I think, in the end, Little Busters! might not be as epic as Clannad, but its simple theme of friendship is probably going to be good enough for me. After all, as Komari displayed, simple is good. Initially, the whole "giving people happiness grants you happiness" theory occured to me as typical shounen idealism. Yet, after some time playing the Komari route, as I discovered more of this mindset and, eventually, more of her personality, I began to be reminded that such artless and simple happiness wasn't that bad at all when written realistically and tastefully. And boy, did this episode write it well. I was worried for a sec that things would get too cheery, but you could clearly see subtle hints of "It Gets Worse". Gawd, just look at how they animate Komari's facial expressions as she explained the chicken and egg story. This is a work of art, my friends. In the end, sure it's a little cramped up and almost looked like they were rushing things at first glance, but I don't know, thinking back to Komari's route in the VN, I feel this is a little bit better, skipping the mundane dialogues (which didn't contributed much significance to the story, as with a lot of things in the VN, if you have to know) and going for the meat. Yeah. This is good. After all, it's not an utter rewrite the likes of Tsukihime's anime, in comparison. I'm really looking forward to the next episode and how the arc will unfold in the coming weeks. Little Busters! might not be an anime I will cherish as much as Clannad, but it sure as hell won't be a companion I'm going to forget. ;) |

However a person's maturity and ability to understand their priorities in life really depends on the person and not a specific age. Some people mature faster while others may not at all in their lifetime. Also, I should mention that as one grows older, they have the potential to be blinded from their values due to conformity or stress of the work force and so therefore may not see their bonds as important but rather sees their daily ritual of earning money to be their top priority. (Using someones quote as an excuse to preach my philosophies! Win! XD) |

I didn't expect Komari route to begin this early, but it's nice, especially when "unused track" played. shame it wasn't used on the VN but if this was used on the refrain arc, It'll surpass the AB's! shadow arc in gloominess. LB! is definitely superior to AB! and Clannad (except the place where wishes come true) on OSTs. Character design is literally superior compared to the VN for some characters, hats-off to the one who corrected Hinoue's uninspiring designs of Komari, Kurugaya and Haruka. although Rin and Kud did not really improve that much (Na-Ga is an ace afterall). and yeah were is the catchphrase "waffu" when it clearly was the most memorable thing when thinking about Kud? and I agree with someone here, LB! should get another season for the refrain portion, it truly needs that in order to properly show how serious that arc is. and possibly a 3 episode OVA for Saya And hell where's Mio? they dare start the party without her?!? overall, impressed with this episode, OSTs are really good and JCStaff's staffs have done good job managing them this time compared to Episode 2. i'd give this single episode 8/10 for now :) |

The animation felt really poor though, and their over reliance on still frames is starting to get on my nerves. Kud wasn't as annoying as I feared either, so that's good. I just hope Haruka shows up more, she has barely gotten any screen time. yea.. i dont think there were any still frames in any other key work.. also WHERES THE BASEBALL PRACTICE.. :( I thought the answer was pretty obvious This made my day. They'll regret turning off the baseball practice: How will Rin learn "True Raging Meow Ball" and win their baseball match against the Captains Team now. How will Riki buff himself well enough to fight Mask the Saito!? :p They cut out this scene! how could they! |

DON'T WORRY they did state that the order of events are not the same as the vn so they might slot that scene somewhere in the future (hopefully) |

The changes in the 2006 Kanon anime were effective as well, so who knows? Little Busters! might actually turn out to be a good anime. |

Well, a few joke scenes missing here or there isn't really going to affect the overall anime. VN fans just want to see their favourite jokes animated. Really though, the only question that needs to be asked is will Refrain be animated faithfully? If it is, you can be certain LB will be more than just "good". In the overall scheme of things, common and heroine routes barely matter. |

So yes, common and heroine routes do matter quite a bit. |

So yes, common and heroine routes do matter quite a bit. Well, not really... From what I've seen, most VN fans agree that LB's heroine routes are mostly definitely lacklustre, definitely no better than Clannad's. LB's trump card lies almost purely in Refrain, and its ability to tie every loose end together in an amazing story. I'm not saying they can get away with doing a shit job on the heroine routes. I'm saying they can do a mediocre job on the heroine routes (and from what I see, they are doing better than mediocre), do a good job on Refrain, and all will still be well. It's like Clannad. Clannad isn't hailed for it's first season (even though I loved it). it's hailed for Afterstory. Afterstory alone makes up for the shortcomings of School Days. And Little Busters' Refrain has EVEN MORE connection with the common route than AS did with SD. |

To me, what makes Little Busters so great is the story of friendship it tells and the characters themselves. Without the first 40 or so hours where you get to know the characters, get attached to them, see all their character interactions and stuff, Refrain means nothing. So you need the common route and heroine routes to be well told for Refrain to have its impact. |

I know Key has made this anime, but honestly, tell me one reason for not to drop it. I think you guys are only watching this because of how moe it is, but c'mon, I think I'm just wasting my life. Plus, the seiyuus of the female character are pitiful, awful and annoying |

Plus, the seiyuus of the female character are pitiful, awful and annoying Moe is one reason some people are watching it, however, if you search through the comments, you should be able to see that the emotional impact and tearjerkiness is very similar to clannad which is the reason this will be just as amazing. If you are looking for that, then hopefully you can look forward to what is to come. :) |
