| Usually I ignore drama/slice of life anime's. Never being my favourite type of genre. But I wanted to try something different and saw this in the 'top anime' list, thought I'd give this a go. And boy was I glad I did that. One of the best emotional driven anime i've ever watched. Enjoyed every single episode and was very satisfied with the ending. |

| I'm so sad and yet so happy at the same time T_T.This anime was beautiful and amazing,this has to be the saddest anime I ever seen,I cried so much.This is without a doubt going in my favorites.This anime is a masterpiece 10/10. |

| It was a great ending, though I was bothered by one thing. In the end, Memna showed herself to everyone. How this happened was not explained, so right now I`m wondering why she didn`t show herself to everyone before? Was be something along the lines of the Power of Believing, or did the writers never think about this plot-hole? Anyways, I'll just wait for the movie to come out and hope it wraps things up more nicely. |
| Fantastic anime!! A friend told "it's comedy, but pretty sad too"... I really haven't found anything happy there.. I almost cryied once when Yukiatsu was discovered , but the end was epic. I'm happy they didn't try to make a different thing, with all couples together and happy. It was a sad ending, and a perfect one. Great characters, great animation, great story! I'll give it a 10/10 :D |

| blown away by this series! realistic emotional scenes, even body language is authentic. couldn't read the subs through crying and had to pause a bit. and anaru's voice actress! nailed it. |

| I was almost on the verge of tears.... then suddenly someone rang the door bell and I had to get up :( Nonetheless, the starting, plot and ending of the anime, everything was just totally amazing. I especially loved it when they add the ending song before the end of episode, gives it a better effect. I swear this was the second anime (after clannad after story) to make me come at my absolute; verge of crying. 9/10 for me. |

| Great anime and great ending. I was convinced that I was not going to shed a tear, but the instant I read the note Menma left for Jintan, they came flowing down; they couldn't have worded the note better. Only anime to make me shed a tear other than Clannad AS 10/10 |

| Really beautiful story. The ending was perfect. I wouldn't have changed anything. I'm glad everyone was able to say their goodbyes and able to see Menma. I cried once I saw the letters she left for everyone. And Menma reciprocated Jinta's feelings! I knew they were going to saw "we found you" but when it finally came the tears just flowed. Also I'm glad that they showed everyone moving on relationship and otherwise. This is definitely one of my favorites now. |

| I'm not going to compare this to Clannad - the sadness are in very different ways. Clannad did make me cry at 2 episodes, but this didn't although I had a tear in my eye for the final episode and the episode where she finally makes her presence to everyone felt. Characters - 9/10 Every character really grew on me throughout this short series - Even the characters whom I despised at the beginning found a place in my heart towards the ending. I reduced a point because there are points (albeit very few) where you just want to hit one of them on the head. Story - 8/10 The story is quite original in my opinion - although it does have similar themes to other tragedies, the development of each character throughout the story and the plot is original and enjoyable to say the least. The only two pitfalls to the story is its predictability - There are no major twists whatsoever and also a major plot hole or 'gap' that resolves itself midway through the series. Fortunately the plot hole resolves itself at a very suitable moment and it was smooth sailing from that point on where you can forget about it. Music - 9/10 With the exception of the opening song, I say every piece of music throughout the series fits remarkably. Animation - 10/10 Never noticed any drop in animation. Loved it. Overall - 9/10 |
| 1/10 Terrible just terrible so many forced melodrama it hurts, just filled with horrible flat one dimensional characters except Anrau. Stupid moe main character that doesn't have a brain, not one single sad moment in the whole anime maybe when menma mom cried or when anaru cried on that idiot back nothing else. It's beyond me how can anyone actually cry at this. |

| Well, I doubt there could have been any other kind of ending besides sad. I was ready for it but it still got me a bit. Anyway, it wrapped up the show nicely. One of the best drama's I can remember. |

| The anime was great. I liked most of the characters and the way it's one of them had to deal with Menma's death and suffer his/her own. Menma's wish and her kind words towards her friends was one the best scenes of the series. I cried in this episode.It was so emotional, sad and happy at the same time. 9/10. |

| Honestly i didn't cry. I'd actually say that this anime made me happier than sad. Cause finding out everything that had happened between them was more of a closure feeling rather than a sorrowful one. It's truly sad, yes. A very deep anime. I couldn't cry for this one cause I feel like the characters themselves did all the crying, haha. I put emphasis on this whole 'crying' bs because people say it's the saddest anime ever, sadder than Clannad. Clannad was WAY more deep imo, and for completely different reasons. Especially After Story. That brought you to the brink of despair before it got a good ending, so I'd say that was more of an emotional journey. So while it's sad it's a kind of melancholy feeling. I'd say Anohana made me feel more content than sad. It was a worthwhile watch, and it was good. Rewatchable? No. Memorable? Yes |
